Dr. Hamilton Vason (Hamp) grew up in Atlanta. A family friend, Dr. Kenneth Grubbs, inspired him to become a dentist. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he attended Emory Dental School and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1980. He then served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps in beautiful Naples, Italy. He has been in private practice since 1984.

Dr. Vason is a member of the American Dental Association, The Georgia Dental Association, The Northern District Dental Society and Hinman Dental Society. He is also a member of the Florida Prosthodontics Study Club and was a long-time member of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration.

He loves traveling, hiking, playing golf and walking the beach at St Simons Island. He enjoys attending dental conferences around the country with his classmates from Emory. They often find time to fly fish when they attend seminars out West.

Dr. Vason is a devoted UGA football fan. For many years, he coached Little League baseball and youth basketball at Northside Youth Organization (NYO) and Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where he is an active member. He still enjoys walking Chastain Park and watching the kids play ball.

Dr. Carlisle Vason has been around Vason Family Dentistry his entire life! After graduating high school at Westminster, he attended The University of Georgia, where he earned degrees in Finance and International Affairs, graduating Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi. He was also inducted into Blue Key Honor Society. He continued his studies at the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta, where he earned the Junior Esthetic Dentistry Award and the Senior Comprehensive Care Case Award. He was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, a distinction reserved for the top 12% of each graduating class.

After dental school graduation, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency at the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital in Augusta, where he received additional training in comprehensive care, implant placement, IV conscious sedation, as well as various oral and periodontal surgeries. He is excited to carry on the Vason Family Dentistry legacy of trust and quality as he incorporates these procedures into the practice.

Dr. Vason is an avid reader and learner. On any given evening he can be found reading either a fun novel or a journal article about the latest advances in dentistry. One of the things he likes most about dentistry is the speed of innovation and change in the field, which affords him opportunities to develop and grow as a clinician. He particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry and dental implant surgeries.

Dr. Vason met his wife, Kelsey, at UGA, and they enjoy exercising, camping, and cooking together. In January, they welcomed their first child, Shepherd into their family. Dr. Vason is thoroughly enjoying his new fatherhood role. He particularly enjoys Saturday morning family runs with Kelsey, Shep in the stroller, and their dog, Georgia, in tow.

He has been especially impacted by dental mission trips with Medical Campus Outreach to Haiti and Romania. He and Kelsey served together on several trips. Kelsey, a Nurse Practitioner, would triage patients prior to Dr. Vason treating them in the dental chair. This experience culminated in the opportunity for Dr. Vason to co-lead the trip as a senior dental student, and to return as an attending provider during his residency.

Crystal is a native of Kansas City, Kansas, and attended Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She has extensive experience managing front office operations in dental practices. Utilizing her organizational and communication skills, she treats each patient with care and professionalism. She forms lifelong relationships with patients, and she enjoys watching patients joyful expressions when their smiles have been restored. Her family includes her husband, four children, and a fur baby. She is very crafty and enjoys rehabbing furniture.

Born and raised in Chicago, Joan has lived in Atlanta throughout her adult life. With over twenty years in administration, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her position on our team. She has a passion for customer service and makes sure that patients receive the best experience we can offer. Her reward is seeing patients leave the office smiling and happy. She is the proud mother of two grown sons, and enjoys shopping, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Our dental hygienist, Dena, hails originally from Cohoes, NY. Dena attended Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody. Dena has advanced certifications in CPR and OSHA and has been an invaluable part of our team for many years. Dena enjoys interacting with patients and building relationships with them over time. She is happily married to husband Michael with whom she has one son, Gavin. When not serving our patients, Dena enjoys reading, cooking, and baking.

The newest member of our hygiene team, Joni is a Georgia native who now lives in Doraville. She received her degree in dental hygiene from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2008. She enjoys providing individual recommendations for home care to each specific patient based on need, and she makes sure each patient leaves with a clean feeling and shiny smile! She trains and competes locally in Olympic Weightlifting, and enjoys home renovation, painting, and live music. She has two fur babies, a boxer named Modi and a shih-tzu named Isabella.

Brandy is originally from New Orleans but graduated from Lovejoy High School in the Atlanta metro area. She is a certified dental assistant and received her expanded duties dental assisting certification from Advanced Career Training. She enjoys helping patients and they enjoy her bubbly personality. Outside of dentistry, she loves spending time with her two boys. Her many other interests include traveling, reading, shopping, and exploring fine dining restaurants.

Danielle grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She received an associates degree in education from Borough of Manhattan Community College and a bachelors degree in psychology from Brooklyn College. As a dental assistant, she enjoys patient relationships and working with the team. In her free time, she likes listening to music, traveling, and playing tennis. She has one son, and she loves children. She aspires to become a pediatric dentist.
