This has been the worst experience ever! I had a scheduled appointment for an extraction at 9:00am. Staff at the front desk was sweet and very attentive. Once I was moved to the Dentist cube it all started. He gave me the first dose of anesthesia an left me there for more than 1/2 hr when he comes back he puts a second dose and starts working on it. I kept telling him I could feel some of what he was doing so he gave me a total of eight (8) shots of anesthesia! I started shaking, feeling chills, one eye was twitching the other would not close and all he kept saying was it's because I was to nervous and the anesthesia was not working. I was not nervous I was in pain cause of what he was doing! He was putting so much pressure on my jaw I honestly felt he was going to dislocate it. He ended up returning my money and sending me to an oral surgeon (past noon) who had to finish the extraction using general anesthesia and of course that was even more $$ . I will NEVER return nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone.

HORRIBLE! I sat for over 30 minutes and I had to go up there just for them to check my file just for them to tell me I owed $400 for my last date of service that they wouldn't even do UNTIL I paid my copay for it that day!! Before I came to my appointment I Called and asked did I owe ANYTHING OR HAVE A COPAY, they said NO. Turns out I did so they said. NOBODY COULD EXPLAIN to me. I asked for the female administrator to call my insurance like they did any other time or at least talk to them. THEY DECLINED! it's sad that people put the narrative that anything black owned/operated is so many bad things and dr. Gaines office front staff that day and administrator proved that statement correct when it's comes to their establishment. Usually the 2 real older ladies that be at the front desk is so sweet and dr Gaines is if they were there THEY WOULD'VE EXPLAINED TO ME FOR THEY DID it SO MANY TIMES (they wasn't there today) and dr. V Gaines is so sweet also but the actual female Administrator is a sad excuse that provoked me to get out my character by her rudeness and no sympathy to explain/ listen to look to see what issue really was. Especially when they messed up my insurance claim the first time. UPDATE: MY INSURANCE TALKED TO THEM AND DR.GAINES OFFICE CONFIRMED THEY MESSED UP MY CLAIM!!!!! None of this would've happened if someone would've looked to see like they did with my insurance company and I will still be reporting them.

I love supporting Black owned business when they have the business together. Dr. Gaines office is extremely high and nothing is organized. I was referred out to a surgeon to have my tooth pulled they provided me with the date and number but I was driving at the time. I decided to call back and get the information and the lady stated that she do not know where I was referred to. I ask if they didn't put in my chart and she stated that they don't keep up with that information. Smh now I have to call around and she where my appointment is going to be at. yes Im BIG MAD

TRUST THE REVIEWS. This is the worst experience I've ever had. Dr. Gaines is the most under qualified dentist I've encountered. I went in for a minor procedure & have had multiple complications since. I now have chronic tooth pain & I had to complete 2 months of antibiotics to get rid of whatever infection this dentist gave me. Save yourself the time and money and find a different dentist.

Zero was not available so I give them a one star. Hygienist violated the HIPAA policy by telling me that I needed a tooth extraction at the pay counter in front of 3 other patients. She told me which tooth and this was when I was leaving. Plus it took the xray guy 8 trys to get two shots of my biwings.

I have to write this review. 0 star was not on the option list, so i chose 1. I went to this office because I was in pain. LONG STORY SHORT: 1. Went 2016 they put a crown on. 2. Went back again 2018 cause they crown came off 3. Was at work 2021 and the dang thing is loose. 4. I have crowns in my mouth that was done 15+ years ago and has never came out or been loose. 5. Heard bad things until after I went 6. Will never go again and now I have to get an implant. 7. And they do keep you waiting in the back for more than an hour sitting in the patient chair.

I made an appointment a month in advance and was offered a Saturday appointment, Which I thought was great because it wouldn't interfere with my work schedule. I told them I had BCBS insurance. I was called back to verify insurance and they could not locate BCBS in the system and said they were showing me to have Cigna and to be employed by a company I have never been affiliated with. I told them that was not accurate and once again explained that I had BCBS insurance. They said "no problem, come in early the day of the appointment and we will get it sorted out". I received a third call to verify my appointment and was assured everything would be fine. I get to the appointment ONE MONTH LATER (on a Saturday) and was told that BCBS insurance could only be verified Monday through Friday and I would have to pay out of pocket for myself and my 2 children and wait to be reimbursed by the insurance company. This could have all been avoided had my insurance been verified in advance or if they had informed me I would need to come during the workweek which could have been arranged. I have heard wonderful things about this practice but the lack of organization and inconvenience will keep me from giving them any future business.

just for the you to know. Do not go here. Inadequate service, incompetency and long waiting time was my experience. Its been 9 months and about 7 visits and I still have not received my dentures. Now they want to start all over. Terrible experience. Attitudes galore. A.L. In my experience I was forewarned NOT to go here. But due to circumstances, I ignored this advice. It is a shabby dark office and though the people try to be friendly professionalism is lacking. I cant afford errors in dental care. So I gladly took my leave. Mary M

Awesome experience!! The Staff was courteous and professional. No lie I literally was a walk in. They were busy which spoke highly of the good business reputation they apparently have. No joke they were getting them in and out. Aside from the assistant greeting you and checking your temperature at the door. They also had the director checking to make sure your needs were in order from time to time. They had a Covid safety plan in place which made me very comfterble. I actually came in, Pain at a 10 with the intentions on spending a bit to have a tooth I thought was bad pulled immediately. So to my surprise nothing showing on my x-rays Dr Gaines identified my issue. I was more than grateful at how he educated me on my problem and the treatment plan needed for a resolution. The dreadfulness I was feeling to lose an important permenate tooth for my age was a relief knowing this was not the problem. They actually saved me a couple hundred bucks and I'm sitting here amazed and in comfort reflecting on how much I'm at ease compared to the day before. Dr Gaines deffinatly will get me and my family business again.

Gave Dr Gaines office a 1 star only because I couldn't select 0. October 2016 I went to his office with a loose abscess tooth. I asked for it to be removed. Only for him to tell me that it could be saved. I was charged $337.50 with insurance. Only to find out from another dentist that they should've been removed and he shouldn't have preformed a root canal. From his carelessness and being unprofessional has cost me the loss of my 2 front teeth and my right bottom second molar. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy here.
