For Dr. Vanik, one of the best parts of being a dentist is transforming someones perspective of the field from fear due to poor past experiences to overwhelming positivity. Rebuilding their confidence through recreating their natural smile will always be a rewarding experience for him! Today, hes proud to follow in his father's footsteps by serving the practice he founded and honoring the tradition of making quality patient care top priority.
Dr. Vaniks college career started at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he studied biochemistry and molecular biology. This prior course allowed him to approach dentistry through a very scientific lens. He then pursued his dental doctorate at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, which was great for a few different reasons. First, because its the first dental school in the world and offers outstanding training in conventional dental techniques, and second, because they spend a great deal of time ensuring that dentists who graduate from the program are very confident with procedures that many graduates from other schools dont quite master.
Dr. Vanik is married to his lovely wife Adeline and is fortunate to have two wonderful parents, two awesome in-laws, and a younger brother. When he isnt busy at work, he loves to travel! So far, hes gone throughout Europe, North America, and some of Asia with his wife; personally, hes reached 25 countries in total. His experiences overseas and around the country have definitely broadened his perspective. He also really enjoys trying foods and drinks from other cultures.
As for personal hobbies, he likes to hunt, fish, read, and work out. Hes a big sports fan too and keeps up with international soccer in particular in fact, he and Adeline were both the captains of their respective varsity soccer teams in high school!
After serving the Annapolis area for over 35 years by providing high-quality and individualized dentistry, Dr. Vanik has retired. Hes delighted to be able to give his patients into the capable hands of his son, Dr. John Vanik, who he trusts to deliver the same level of care and service that he did while staying involved in the community. After all, he has been part of the family dental practice from the beginning!
What is Dr. Vaniks plan now? Simply put, he hopes to spend as much time as possible enjoying life with family, and relaxing into his new role as Grandfather to the greatest little boy (other than his own two). Hes also excited about getting some unpressured time in travelling and fishing!
Dr. Vanik is extremely grateful for the life dentistry has given him, and he looks forward to what this next phase will bring for both him and the practice. Most of all, he would just like to say thank you to all of the patients and team members that made his wonderful career possible!

I have been with this practice for 66 years. I started coming when I was six years old to see Dr. Vincent Leocha. No matter where I've lived I've made the drive. I miss seeing Dr. Neil, but I'm so glad his son is continuing the excellent work this office provides.This dental group is friendly and professional. You won't be disappointed!

I have been going to Vanik Dental Group for over a decade. It is a great community dental practice run extremely professionally. The entire staff is exceptional, especially Lena, the dental technician. She has educated me on a higher standard of care. I highly recommend this practice to anyone living in the Annapolis area.

From the moment you enter this office you experience efficiency, professionalism, and personalized care. I miss Dr. Neil Vanik but was delighted when Dr. John Vanik displayed the same patient, competent, thorough dental care. Lena is a gem of a hygienist, I left with my teeth feeling smooth as glass! I had been putting off getting a crown on a back tooth that has been cracked since at least 2016. I figured after all these years, I should get it crowned before it started to hurt. Dr. Neil Vanik is the only dentist I have ever trusted. His son, Dr. John Vanik, is just as amazing as his Dad. Dr. John did my procedure yesterday and I couldn't be happier! Not even the needle hurt. My temporary crown looks like it's the permanent one. This is by far the best dental practice I have ever been to. Thank you so much!

I have been going to Dr Vanik and his father fir 30 years. They are both outstanding dentists and his staff are great. John Vanik is an outstanding dentist and his staff are always wonderful and easy to deal with. I could not recommend him more highly!!
