Durk began his education at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. After earning a Bachelors Degree in Science, he moved on to Oregon Health Sciences University, where he received his D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree. Dr. Irwin gained experience practicing General Dentistry in Astoria, Oregon for a year before entering his orthodontic residency at New York University School of Dentistry. He earned his specialty certificate in orthodontics from NYU in 1997 and has been engaged in the private practice of orthodontics in the Vancouver, WA area ever since.
The field of orthodontics is always changing. From techniques to approaches to the materials being used, there is always something new to explore. By guiding jaw growth and development in children, he is able obtain a big, beautiful, and stable smile while keeping all permanent teeth in most patients.
Dr. Irwin has also improved function for and has helped numerous adult patients achieve that Hollywood smile theyre hoping to achieve. He understands that adults seeking orthodontic treatment require a different approach than children and teens. Regardless of age, he creates customized treatment plans that strike a balance between his patients unique orthodontic needs and goals, budgetary considerations, and lifestyle demands.
Family is extremely important to Durk. He has five children with his wife Kimm and they mean the world to him. He especially loves being Papa to his 4 grandchildren. Durk loves spending time outdoors enjoying nature and its wonders. Whatever the season, you will find him enjoying some sort of outdoor sport or activity. He loves everything from skiing and snowmobiling, to camping, fishing, and hiking. Another of his pastimes is trail riding horses in the mountains, and he also loves playing cowboy on his working cattle ranch.

My son is 14 and we were referred to Dr.Erwin by his dentist. The staff and DR. Erwin himself are such a great team. They are all kind and make you feel good as a client. I highly recommend him!

Really great Drs and friendly staff members. I only had an hour before my flight to get my retainers and they made that accommodation for me. They removed excess cement from my previous set with no additional charges and made sure I was a happy customer when I left. My impression is that they're great with teens and adults . I was quoted by another orthodontist, Dr.Cais office at $875 for a set which was just out of my budget. At this location I paid $330 upfront for my retainers with a possible reimbursement by my insurance.

Honestly impressed with this office from the moment I walked in. Very friendly and fast. They have their processes down. We didn't wait longer than a couple minutes at any point in our entire visit. Took the stress of getting braces off both mine and my daughter's shoulders.

I could not be more pleased with this office! Took my daughter there for her first visit yesterday And from the moment we walked in the door we were warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable. Everything was explained very clearly and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the entire office! Absolutely amazing experience and now my daughter is excited to get her retainers!!!

When the head orthodontist arnt there the assistants or whatever their called have no idea what their doing or what their supposed to be doing. They just guess what they want for my braces. I was told by the assistances that I don't need to wear my bands. At my next appointment the orthodontist told me I was supposed to. The orthodontist also doesn't see to his patients in order. I would get there before 3 people but he goes in order of chairs so they get helped first.

Employees are very nice, very thorough, and always ready to help. Dr. does a great job, has great energy, and a good sense of humor. Definitely recommend this place if you don't want to get a bunch of random teeth pulled so it was a quick and easy fix for the orthodontist, and later get a bunch of ugly spaces in your pretty teeth.
