Welcome to the About the Doc page. Ive written this short biography to help prospective patients get a feel for both myself, and the values our office holds important. Choosing a dentist is such a personal decision. I want prospective patients to feel comfortable about their dental care at my office before ever stepping through our door.
I grew up in Northern California and attended the University of California, San Diego. After graduating from UCSD with degrees in Animal Physiology, Neuroscience and Urban Planning, I took the short trip up the coast to the University of Southern California for my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Upon my graduation from dental school, I headed straight to Arizona to begin my dental career. Several years later, and with my own office, I have settled into the Arizona lifestyle quite comfortably.
Throughout my career, Ive always placed a high priority on staying up to date with the latest research, education, and techniques. I average 76 hours of Continuing Education every year; three times the amount required by the Arizona Dental Licensing Board. I feel so strongly about the value of staying current with my career, that in 2009 I founded Arrowhead Education LLC. Arrowhead Education is a company that provides cutting edge dental education classes to dentists from all over the Phoenix Valley. This allows me even more exposure to great courses, as well as an avenue to give back to the profession (and ultimately the patients) with quality dental education.
Additionally, in 2011 I became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. The FAGD award is a culmination of 500 hours of specialized study classes, and involves a comprehensive exam and application process. More than just extra letters after your name, this designation recognizes a true mastery of comprehensive general dentistry, rather than just a focus on a single discipline like cosmetics or surgery.
This level of education has many benefits for prospective patients. You will probably notice that my office offers true comprehensive care, including dental implants and adult cosmetic orthodontics. My experience has taught me that, when possible, patients much prefer to be treated by a doctor with whom theyve already established a trusted relationship. Having the experience and education to offer these services allows patients the comfort and convenience of having all their treatment completed under one roof.
Outside of dentistry, I am an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy hiking, biking, fourwheeling, target shooting, lacrosse, and several other year round activities afforded by our favorable climate here in sunny Arizona.
