Ok. Hear me out....I have a history of dental trauma and haven't sat willingly in a dentist's chair until September 2022 when I was introduced to the staff and endodontist at Van Gordon Endodontics. I couldn't even open my eyes at my first appointment for exam and imaging. My terror of dentist's is (was!) real.....I was trying so hard to find an endodontist who offered IV sedation, but there were no dental anesthesiologists available to manage my acute dental issue. I went back to Van Gorden the next week for a root canal. He offered me twilight medication and I learned Dr. Van Gordon is the son of a dentist, and one of three brothers who took up the task locally, as well. His education, experience and family history reflects in his demeanor and character. The staff are legit amazing. Every point of contact, from scheduling my first appointment through to treatment and follow up, I was respected, cared for, supported and heard. Van Gordon Endodontics sets the bar high for other dental professionals in Portland. Good thing too, because I needed another root canal in October.....and I was happy to be in his care.

I was quite nervous, having never gone through a root canal before. I was referred here by my dentist. Right away I was treated very well by everyone. From the receptionist, assistant, to the dentist. They helped me realize it wasn't a big deal. I got all numbed up, put on some headphones they gave me (I could choose the music), and less than 45 minutes later, I was done. Not traumatic at all. Didn't need any calming down drugs either. If you fear a root canal because of horror stories, just come to this place and they will get you taken care of quickly with no issues.

Dr. Van Gordon is the master of root canals. It was fast and painless. He knows his stuff and has perfected his craft. Very impressed.

Dr. Van Gordon- where to begin. At the beginning. They made me instantly comfortable, and trust me I was my usual ball of nerves. I'm an ex- pat journalist, who has worked in just about every war zone since the early 90's. To say I've seen a lot is understatement, to say I've been though a lot was too, an understatement. I don't know, our personalities just clicked- and I'm so thankful that my first root canal was a success and -WAY less painful than getting shot. Best Doctor I've come across. Thank you so much for "getting" me. You guys made me laugh. Wow. In for a root canal- and I'm laughing. Honestly, thank you. I will keep you - and your family in my thoughts always.

Very happy how the procedure went. It is amazing how such delicate work came be performed. I was expecting some pain after the novacane wore off. Maybe I was lucky. No pain. Great work thank you!

Dr. Van Gordon is excellent at what he does. Unfortunately, in the past I've had root canals done by a "regular" dentist that later failed and needed to be redone. Not only has Dr. Van Gordon's office been the most professional and friendly office I have ever been to, but getting a root canal done by Dr. Van Gordon has been faster and less painful than a simple filling with dentists I've had in the past. This guy is a pro, and I would have him do all my dental work if he was willing to do so. The reason I'm leaving this review right now is because I looked their number up on google to make a new appointment. There was a time in the past when I would have been truly dreading an appointment like this, but I know this will go just fine, and I'll be in and out just like always.

I highly recommend Van Gordon Endodontics. I had a crown put in by my general dentist that just wasn't healing right and the discomfort wasn't going away. I reached out to Dr. Van Gordon's team to see if my symptoms were in need of a specialist. After a quick conversation it was determined that I needed a root canal. The process went exceptionally smooth. The office staff was on top of it, making check-in/out super easy and they followed up afterward to make sure I was doing well! The office was also super sanitary following all COVID-19 protocols. The surgery itself was even smoother. Afterward I even asked "did you do anything?" Post-surgery, my tooth discomfort was gone immediately. I can't thank Dr. Van Gordon and his team enough for the work they did.

Dr. Van Gordon and Stephanie in the Office were absolutely AMAZING!!! My son had to have a root canal and Dr. Van Gordon was very thorough in explaining the procedure and weighed different options beforehand. They followed up after the procedure to check on my son and make sure he was doing okay. Stephanie was very quick to respond and made sure all of my questions were answered. I was so grateful for such an organized, professional and thoughtful team. I am definitely recommending Van Gordon Endodontics!

No one enjoys a root canal, I was very nervous about the procedure. Van Gordon Endodontics worked me into their schedule, same day my Primary Dentist Randy Freed identified my sensitivity problem with a tooth and prescribed a root canal. Dr. Van Gordon looked the problem tooth over and agreed with Dr Freed, a root canal was needed. The entire procedure was painless. Shots both outside and inside gums around the tooth were virtually painless.....to my surprise! Sensitivity to temperature was gone immediately. Pressure sensitivity was gone the next day. None of the prescribed medicines were as needed. The Van Gordon Endodontics team did a fantastic job

I visited Dr. VanGordon's office on January 5,2021 for a cold sensitive tooth issue. I ended up needing a root canal. The staff at VanGordon Endodontics was awesome and attended to my needs. Dr VanGordon did the root canal and this was the best root canal I've ever had! I was in the chair less than an hour and he and his office followed up the following day. I would highly recommend Dr. Van Gordon and his staff for your dental needs. They are truly amazing!!

Let me start off by saying I absolutely do not like going to the dentist. I'm really nervous the whole time I'm there and I sweat in the chair. Dr. Van Gordon and his staff took really good care of me, the second I walked into the office. I had a root canal done and I did not feel a thing. They also gave me music headphones with my choice of music and it was very soothing to be there. I would recommend him 100%

Today was my first ever root canal. I'm not gonna lie, I was sure I was in for a very baaaaaaad day. When did root canals stop being the horrible, dreaded procedure they used to be?? Seriously, it was a piece of cake. Okay, I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed the experience, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and painless the whole thing was. For anyone reading this that might be scared of their first root canal- meh, you got this! I'm a total wimp and if I can handle it with no problem, I'm pretty sure anyone can. Thank you Dr VG and staff!

One of the most pleasant dental care experiences I had in my life. Root canal is supposed to be no fun at all, but Dr. Greg managed to make it as smooth and painless as I didn't think is possible. The equipment, office, team - all top notch!

I have had bad experiences with dentists most of my life, 3 out of 15 dentists have been good but 1out 15 was the best and that is Van Gordon! The entire staff was kind and welcoming. They give you headphones with whatever music you choose to play. He was quick and there was no pain. I had a re treatment root canal. If you need a root canal I recommend going to an endodontist, especially this one! Thank You Dr. Van Gordon and staff!

Dr. Van Gordon and his staff are fabulous! I am so impressed with their professionalism and follow-up. After both appointments they checked in with me to see how I was doing. I met Dr. Gordon after my dentist confirmed that a root canal was infected and the tooth needed to be extracted. I contacted Dr. Van Gordon's office for a second opinion. Dr. Van Gordon reviewed new x-rays, took a look inside my mouth and asked a few questions about where/when the root canal had been completed. Turns out the information provided had Dr. Van Gordon hopeful that he could redo the root canal and save the tooth. He did it!!! I'm excited not to need an implant! Thank you!

Best experience i have ever had! I was very nervous this was my first root canal, but Dr. Van Gordon was fantastic. It was one of the easiest procedures I've had. Would highly recommend Dr. Van Gordon to anyone.

Both doctor and staff are very nice. The procedure was done without any pain at the time or the next day after. Doctor Van Gordon is very professional.

I've had 6 root canals and a lot of dental work done prior to meeting Dr. VanGordon. I say this to establish some credibility. Long story short I came to VanGordon to get my root canals retreated because other dentists/ specialists didn't treat them proper. This place however is Very professional. Dr VanGordon is awesome, he has a gentle touch and sharp eye for detail. He is very knowledgable in his field and genuinely cares for his patients. It appears to me that his goal is solely to help the patient. His assistants are hand selected and also top notch, typically they spend just as much time with you as the Doctor does so they also play an important role in the office. I couldn't be happier with the level of work that comes from this facility, as they set the bar very high for they're competitors. I am very thankful and blessed that our paths crossed and will only be seeing Greg for any future treatments, as I cannot recommend his work enough.
