Brianna is our office manager here at Valley Ridge Family Dentistry. She is also a dental hygienist with over 15 years of experience, both in the clinical and administrative sides of dentistry. She has a passion for educating patients about oral health. Brianna was born in Michigan and was raised in Alabama. She currently resides in Calera with her husband Carl, with whom she has been married for 11 years, and their two kids, daughter Kaylee and son Tyler. Outside of work, Brianna enjoys traveling, crafting, reading, and family fun Fridays with her husband and kids.
Dr. Colynda Vu was born in California and has lived in various parts of the United States. However, it was in Philadelphia where her future was predominantly shaped. She attended high school and college there. She later went to Temple University School of Dentistry where she studied to be a dentist and also where she met her future husband, Dr. David Ray. After she graduated from dental school in 2006, she worked for several years in private practices outside of Philadelphia.She made the decision in 2011 to move to Alabama, where her husband is from, and made it her new home. Over the next several years, she worked indental offices all over Alabama. Not only did she make wonderful new friends there, but she was able to see much of the state.Dr. Vu is thrilled at the opportunity to be able to open up her new dental practice alongside her husband Dr. Ray. She looks forward to using the latest technologies to provide beautiful and healthy smiles to families in Chelsea and the surrounding communities. Dr. Vu loves to attend continuing education classes to stay up to date on all of the latest innovations. What she has most enjoyed over the years has been the relationships she has had with her patients and dental office team. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Alabama Dental Association. Dr. Vu and Dr. Ray have one son who is their pride and joy. She loves to spend time with her family and friends. In her free time, she also enjoys gardening, traveling, sewing, and trying new restaurants and recipes.
Dr. Ray is originally from Decatur, AL. After completing his undergraduate studies at UAB, he chose to attend Temple University for dental school. It turned out to be a wise decision because that is where he met his wife, Dr. Colynda Vu. Dr. Ray graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2006. He worked at a private practice in New Jersey for 5 years after dental school. In 2011, Dr. Ray returned to Alabama where he had a dental practice in Childersburg, AL for 8 years. Dr. Ray is a member of the American Dental Association and the Alabama Dental Association. In his free time, Dr. Ray enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, and traveling to obscure destinations. Family time is also very important to him. Dr. Vu and Dr. Ray have one son. Dr. Ray is excited about the opportunity to provide quality dental care to the residents of Chelsea and surrounding areas. He is also ecstatic to finally get the chance to work with his wife, Dr. Vu. Dr. Ray takes great pride in his work and he believes in patient-focused care.

They are amazing!! The receptionist was very helpful when I called, they were able to get me in the same day. Dr. Ray was very pleasant and explained everything to me during my extraction as well as Dr. Vu who was assisting. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a top notch dentist.

First time client! I received a root canal and it was very well done. No pain during. The chair massaged me as they did their work and I just sat back in bliss. 100% would recommend. Great people and Great service!

Nice office, very sweet dental hygienist but the dentist is horrible! He did absolutely nothing for me, has no personality and needs to seek another profession. Bedside manner is horrible

I contacted Dr. Ray and Dr. Vu with a wisdom tooth issue. He brought me in the very next day for a consultation. He was extremely honest and explained every option that I could have taken with extreme detail. He extracted the tooth without any complication and Dr. Vu made the experience extremely relaxing and comforting. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. They are conveniently located and are very accommodating to their patients needs and schedules. I will be switching my entire family to this practice!

A true family dentistry practice! Husband and wife team Dr. Ray and Dr. Vu took great care of me and my kids. The kids got stress-free check ups and cleanings with Dr. Ray. My son had his 1st cavity. Dr. Ray talked him through it calmly and he had no problem. Even after a filling, they both loved Dr. Ray. I had my exam and cleaning with Dr. Vu, and she was very gentle and meticulous. Left my teeth whiter than they have been in years! And she talked me through a lot of options for my concern about grinding my teeth. Very kind and skilled dentists - great with kids!
