He earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University Of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, as well as several awards for dental research and academic achievement. Dr. Maraj also received a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Queens College, New York.
Dr. Maraj has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in orthodontics by becoming a board-certified orthodontist. Board certification is a rigorous five- to ten-year process consisting of written and oral exams culminating in a presentation of treatment results of his actual patients for critical review by a board of examiners. Currently, only approximately ten percent of practicing orthodontists in Connecticut are board certified.
Dr. Maraj is dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment available incorporating contemporary research and continuing education. In a poll of more than 2,000 dentists, Connecticut Magazine named him as one of the top orthodontists in the state.
Dr. Maraj is involved in many professional societies including the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the North Eastern Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society, and the Waterbury Dental Society.

Dr. Maraj ruined my step child's teeth, mouth, and face from something called 'camouflage orthodontia' and multiple unnecessary tooth extractions, they suffer from bone loss and progressive gum recession, their jaw is now deteriorating (we have been told it's all from the excessive orthodontia), they are in pain, they are uncomfortable around the clock, their facial appearance has suffered as has their self esteem, their smile is worse than before even after years of discomfort with the braces, all because of the greed of someone who didn't want to pass us on to more appropriate professionals for DJS and the less damaging round of braces for decompensation. My step child can't even breathe because Dr. Maraj neglected to take into account the consequences of any initial jaw structure issues and instead, worsened them so the air way is being infringed upon further. Their tongue can barely fit in their reduced mouth space. They have a speech impediment and their lips are collapsing into their mouth opening. I am livid. I wish I had been present during the initial discussions rather than a background character at a handful of appointments. This is unacceptable. Dr. Miraj is more concerned with feeding his own ego by hiring attractive women to circulate him (ironically) and fattening his wallet than doing what is truly right for the child and their future. If you have a more complicated case, please seek help elsewhere, a conservative approach rather than a destructive one. Now because of this, because of the irreparable damage done, our options for resolving this issue are limited or outright impossible. I fear for this poor child's ability to thrive now. I will rewrite this review with a farcical 5 stars if necessary because I have a feeling he hides the bad ones. We are not the first family this has happened to.

Every single person in that office is amazing, so friendly and always put the patients first. I always look forward to my visits. Dr. Maraj is truly the best! He is extremely knowledgeable, personable and honest.

All three of my kids have gone to this practice, so we've been there a lot! Great practice... very professional and family friendly. They get to know the patients right away. They do their best to accommodate patients' needs. I would definitely recommend Valley Orthodontics.

the worst experience. the doctor was very extremely rude!! i will never go there again maybe he was having a bad day and took it out on me but horrible service and the way he speaks to customers
