He earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University Of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, as well as several awards for dental research and academic achievement. Dr. Maraj also received a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Queens College, New York.
Dr. Maraj has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in orthodontics by becoming a board-certified orthodontist. Board certification is a rigorous five- to ten-year process consisting of written and oral exams culminating in a presentation of treatment results of his actual patients for critical review by a board of examiners. Currently, only approximately ten percent of practicing orthodontists in Connecticut are board certified.
Dr. Maraj is dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment available incorporating contemporary research and continuing education. In a poll of more than 2,000 dentists, Connecticut Magazine named him as one of the top orthodontists in the state.
Dr. Maraj is involved in many professional societies including the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the North Eastern Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society, and the Waterbury Dental Society.

From check in, to check out, and everything in between...Valley Ortho is THE best. Dr. Maraj and his staff are amazing - professional & super friendly. The office itself is stunning, so comfortable and inviting. I had my second round of ortho as an adult, and Dr Maraj gave me the smile I always wanted. Now it's my daughter's turn! I wouldn't go anywhere else! Highly recommended.

I was recommended here by Bristol Family Dental. My consult was free. I enjoyed my consult with Dr Miraj. He was more concerned with my TMJ/Facial muscle issues then slapping braces on me. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and fair. However in the weeks after, there was no follow up. I was told I would hear back about my insurance coverage and didn't for 2 weeks. Emailed them and waited over a week for a reply, then still haven't heard back. Got a generic call saying I need to schedule a follow up, for what? Not impressed with the poor communication.

Dr. Maraj ruined my step child's teeth, mouth, and face from something called 'camouflage orthodontia' and multiple unnecessary tooth extractions, they suffer from bone loss and progressive gum recession, their jaw is now deteriorating (we have been told it's all from the excessive orthodontia), they are in pain, they are uncomfortable around the clock, their facial appearance has suffered as has their self esteem, their smile is worse than before even after years of discomfort with the braces, all because of the greed of someone who didn't want to pass us on to more appropriate professionals for DJS and the less damaging round of braces for decompensation. My step child can't even breathe because Dr. Maraj neglected to take into account the consequences of any initial jaw structure issues and instead, worsened them so the air way is being infringed upon further. Their tongue can barely fit in their reduced mouth space. They have a speech impediment and their lips are collapsing into their mouth opening. I am livid. I wish I had been present during the initial discussions rather than a background character at a handful of appointments. This is unacceptable. Dr. Miraj is more concerned with feeding his own ego by hiring attractive women to circulate him (ironically) and fattening his wallet than doing what is truly right for the child and their future. If you have a more complicated case, please seek help elsewhere, a conservative approach rather than a destructive one. Now because of this, because of the irreparable damage done, our options for resolving this issue are limited or outright impossible. I fear for this poor child's ability to thrive now. I will rewrite this review with a farcical 5 stars if necessary because I have a feeling he hides the bad ones. We are not the first family this has happened to.

I brought my son here some time ago with one front tooth that had failed to come in. By the time we realized this tooth was not going to come down naturally, my son was quite old and it was getting stressful. Dr. Mirage met with me, talked about the plan, and reassured me that with time and patience he could take care of it. My son finally got his braces off today, with two perfect front teeth. The high caliber of this office extends not only to the quality of work, but also to the character of the staff. I can't say enough good things about this office; a wonderful example of everything you'd expect from a business and doctor.

Dr. Maraj was there for my son when we had a question and took the time to meet with us last minute on a Saturday afternoon. He is an excellent doctor who really cares about his patients. I highly recommend him as a knowledgeable and caring orthodontist.
