Dr. Medaugh, better known as Dr. M, studied painting and ceramics at Bates College before earning his DDS from the University of Pennsylvania as a Pierre Fauchard Scholar. Coming from a family of dentists and doctors, he has a deep respect for the time-honored traditions of healthcare, including the one-on-one relationship doctors have with their patients.
Whats more, Dr. M is dedicated to the art and science of dentistry, particularly when it comes to cosmetic and restorative care. He loves working with patients to create a more beautiful or functional smile and works with the highest quality materials and labs.
Dr. M is married and has four children. Hes also an avid skier and gearhead. Ask him about mountains, cars, or air conditioners and hell never stop talking. Dr. M also loves dogs. When hes not helping patients, he enjoys fixing things and riding his bike.
Cynthia is our patient care coordinator. When there is a problem in the office, she is the go to person because of her understanding of our many established patient families. Everyday she looks forward to helping patients who come through our door. In a former life, Cynthia was an artist and a teacher. What she enjoys about working in a dental practice? The people, their stories. They come in all different shapes and sizes. Every encounter is an opportunity to grow, to learn something.
Our go-getter, practice administrator and dental assistant. Mai is kind, clever and a hard worker. She loves helping people and her co-workers. Mai is bi-linqual and speaks Hmong and English. When she is not here, she enjoys cooking and being Mom to three young boys.
Raven is passionate about preventative oral health, and inspiring / educating our patients on the importance of dental / periodontal wellness and its relation to great health. She is natural with her soft skills, loves to get to know our patients, and is committed to providing comfortable, relaxed experiences. Every detail of her hygiene or periodontal procedure is executed with thought, safety first, and impeccable care. No judgment ever. You will look forward to your visits. You will feel amazing about your oral wellness.
Raven has been with us for a while. She is a hands -on dental ninja who knows understands all aspects of restorative/cosmetic dentistry. She is an five star co-worker and can support Dr. M in any dental procedure.

Dr. Medaugh is very knowledgable and accommodating at a moment's notice. Note, in addition to being an accomplished dentist, Dr. Medaugh also has an Art background and makes amazing temporary teeth (they look pretty amazing and are functional) while you await for your permanent crown. Cynthia in the front office and Raven, dental hygienist, really know their work. Extremely competent and professional for the past 3+ years of service. I recommend.

This past fall I chipped a front tooth. My regular dentist was on vacation and there was no other dentist filling in and the wait time was weeks before I could be seen. I called area dentists and Valley Dentists could get me in the next day even though I was NOT an existing patient. They repaired the front tooth chip, quickly and painlessly. However, they noticed that there were teeth that needed to be restored and were neglected by my previous dental office. (My previous dental office had gone through 4 dentists in two years!!) Those transient dentists really either didn't care or were not experienced enough to see that my upper teeth had issues. Dr. M. first sent me to WMass Endontics to make sure the front upper teeth were viable for crowning. (So it was like a second opinion). WMass endontics also performed a troublesome root canal and my teeth were ready to go. It took quite a few visits for prepping the teeth, for applying the temporary crowns and then installing the new permanent ones. After all of those weekly appointments my teeth were fixed, restored and previous issues were corrected. I truly got to know and like ALL of the staff at Valley Dentists and will not go back to my previous dentist, now that I have experienced the quality workmanship of Dr. M. and his dental assistants. A special shout out to Cynthia at the front desk for setting up appointments convenient to MY schedule, and for Skye and Raven for their expertise in keeping my appointments for crowning and prep work running smoothly and being sympathetic and understanding of my discomfort. What a great medical practice group!!! I highly recommend Valley Dentists. Give them a try if you are new to the area or just disgruntled with your existing dental office!!!

It was my first time at Valley Dentist as i was waiting in the waiting room a couple came in and the receptionist greeted them by name before they said anything,i was honestly very impressed she was very energetic and very nice. The dental assistant that took care of my X-rays was very nice,energetic,gentle The doctors were very nice, examined throughly which is very important told me how they could help and referred me to the best oral surgeon, i felt like i was going there all my life. To me it's definitely worth the commute from my house, Valley Dentist thank you very much. Cynthia was a great help she was amazing she made sure i got the best referrals she got through to my pharmacy when i misplaced my prescription she was very nice energetic response was fast thank u so much Cynthia. (Only worked through phone, wasn't the person at the desk day of my visit ) 2 different people.

Had a toothe emergency. I was not listed as a patient with this office. Office took its time to reach out to me help me through an emergency during non business hours and on a holiday. They got me in the next morning and were fast. They were able to get in me in the same day with a surgeon consultation. I am no longer in pain and I am a happy new patient. The staff was friendly and followed up with me the following day to see how I was feeling. Nothing but good things to say about the this office.

Exceptional! The staff is friendly and fun.... A great combination of personalities. The Dr. is a perfectionist and it shows in his work. I had a badly chipped incisor, you can't tell the difference between his repair and my tooth, blended perfectly.

Valley Dentist has been taking care of my husband and me for 14 years now. My husband recently had a dental emergency and they took him right away. They referred him to a surgeon who couldn't help him the day he went so Cynthia advocated for him and got him into a surgeon quickly as he had other issues that can be affected by dental problems. She sent him to a great place. She kept us informed on her progress and even texted us the day after the appointment to see how my husband was! We are so thrilled to be a part of the Valley Dentist family.

Nothing but great experiences. Everyone in this office is so accommodating. They get us scheduled at the same time so we don't have to make repeat trips. The waiting area is lovely and the whole staff is super friendly and connected. You forget you are in a dental office. My daughter had a dental trauma on a Saturday and the dentist came in to see her. I was a basket case. Dr. M was very calming then he called me back in the middle of the week. Everyone in this office is caring and goes the extra mile.

Shyster. Told me I needed have all my existing fillings redone after the 1st visit. Went for a 2nd opinion and were told they are fine. Never went back and wish I never went in the first place.

Took my 14 year old son here because we were not happy at his prior practice. Raven was amazing after the appointment my son said she was awesome she talked to me like she knew me already! Dr M explained to my husband about my sons hygiene and what he had diagnosed. Very happy that my son will be much happier going to the dentist. Everyone from the front desk to the back were very welcoming and friendly. Office is clean and love the seasonal decorations outside.

I came to Valley Dentists of Belchertown with a crown that was in bad shape and painful But before going in I frantically called all over to find someone to get me in. I called and left a message on the machine, and that evening I received a call from Cynthia, whom was very caring. She was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and went to great lengths to ensure the treatment to resolve the problem was in my best interest. The next day I went in and saw the dentist and assistant Skye, they were very professional yet personable. They worked together seamlessly in a manner that put me at ease and were very focused on fixing the tooth but I had already glued it back with gorilla glue. So we must wait ... lol. But any physical discomfort was minimal and both Dr. and Skye were encouraging and positive. A very good experience.Skye was very kind, explained everything that was in the next steps that was needed. I can't say enough about her, as well as the staff, glad I called there... highly recommend........ Any time I have a question or concern it is answered . Thank you very much for everything. Tina

Even though I moved from Belchertown, I still travel to Belchertown to get services here in Valley dentist. I like the small community atmosphere. I am satisfy with the prices and the quality of work. I have been visiting this place for years now!

They are professional and accommodating. I've hated going to the dentist all my life, until I found this place. All staff are very pleasant. They keep you laughing. Love the new massage chair to relax you while he's at work.

Myself and my 2 Children have been with Cynthia and Mark at Valley Dentist of Belchertown.I have never been happier :) the office Is Friendly,clean,welcoming,GREAT PLACE!!!! I felt like I was in a used car dealership. They tried to sell a toothbrush that was like $150-200 dollars and insisted I needed a "fancy cleaning" which with insurance would cost $180. I've never had any tooth/gum issues before and all the sudden I need an $180 dollar procedure? They also kept me there a long time and explained the same thing over and over. Also, my hair dresser had more COVID procedures in place than this dentist's office. It was my first visit and my last. I'll be finding another dentist.
