Dr. Robert Winebrenner is excited to come to work every day and make a difference in peoples lives by helping them achieve optimal oral health. He considers it a privilege to be considered a friend to many of his patients, and he does not take for granted the trust theyve placed in him. Dr. Winebrenner is passionate about helping people, and feels eternally rewarded by seeing how happy they are with their results.

Dr. Winebrenner was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in Baltimore, MD. In school, he always loved science and math. At an early age, he enjoyed building many airplane models and working on any projects using his hands. Needless to say, many years later this skill would become the center of his profession as a dentist.

Dr. Winebrenner attended the University of Maryland at College Park, completing his dental program a year early. He then attended Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Dr. Winebrenner joined the US Air Force, becoming an officer at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, UT. Upon the completion of his assignment there, he returned to Maryland to enter private practice.

As a continual student, Dr. Winebrenner takes numerous scientific continuing education courses and frequently attends workshops where he receives hands-on training in the newest in dental technologies and treatment methods. He does everything in his power to increase patients comfort and decrease their time in the dental chair.

Dr. Winebrenner and his wife have loved living here in Hagerstown for more than 40 years. Its been a great place to raise their three wonderful children. In his free time, he collects model trains, plays with his dog Sophie, and enjoys reading history books, gardening, and playing golf. He loves the beauty of Washington County and the yearly seasons hes able to enjoy.

Leonisha Thomas Dankwa graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science and received her doctorate from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2006. She then went on to complete a general practice residency at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY where she enhanced her clinical skills in all aspects of general dentistry including pediatric dentistry. She is the oldest of three children.

Dr. Thomas joined the practice in June of 2012 and is dedicated to helping her patients experience a comfortable and friendly experience during their dental visit. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends. She is a member of the American Dental Association and National Dental Association. Dr Thomas continues to strive for excellence by continuing her education to become the best Dentist she can be.

Tracy joined our team in June 2016 as a business assistant and has transitioned to office manager. She graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. Tracy has over 20 years of customer service experience that has helped with her positions here at Valley Dental Associates. She has been working in the dental field for several years and is very knowledgeable when it comes to insurance companies and benefits. Tracy enjoys helping and interacting with patients. She is passionate about building great relationships with all of our patients, and making sure they receive quality service and attention from our front office. Tracy loves to assist patients in utilizing their dental insurance efficiently and obtaining the treatment they need. She enjoys enjoys helping patients obtain a beautiful, healthy smile. She feels the best part of the day is seeing patients leave the office feeling happy and confident with their smiles.

Katrina attended HCC and has been certified as an Extended Function Dental Assistant since 2006. She acts as a representative for Valley Dental Associates at various community activities and functions. Her warm smile and extensive knowledge gives our patients a sense of ease.

Katrina particularly enjoys working with cosmetic cases because of the impact it has on a persons emotional and physical well-being. Being able to provide patients with procedural knowledge and a beautiful smile gives her great satisfaction. Katrina has a big heart and a caring way of explaining procedures to our patients. Because of this, she provides them with a relaxed and comfortable visit to the office. Katrina is the cornerstone of our team at Valley Dental Associates!

Denise attended HCC for her dental assistant program and began her dental career in 2010. She completed her expanded functions certification in Columbia, MD. With us since 2014, Denise helps our dentists during procedures and does all that she can to ensure each patients comfort. Her favorite part of her job is helping patients achieve healthy smiles that are beautiful, too!

Shawna joined our team in October 2015. She graduated from Allegany College of Maryland in 2015. Her passion for dental hygiene started when she was a kid. She loved going to the dentist, especially her hygiene visits. She loves the opportunity to work one on one with her patients, educating them on what is best for them to obtain optimal oral health. She believes everyone should love their smile.

Alyssa graduated from Allegany College of Maryland in 2007 as a dental hygienist and joined our office the same year. She engages a quick rapport with patients of all ages, utilizing her charming wit and engaging smile. Unchanged: Developing long-term relationships is easy for Alyssa; having those relationships developed in the dental office transition into long-term personal friendships is not unusual for her. After growing up with a fear of the dentist, she particularly enjoys comforting and educating her patients, so they feel safe and knowledgeable about procedures. Her gentle touch wins them over every time!
