Welcome to Valley Center Orthodontics! Dr. Liliana Hernandez and her talented team are dedicated to providing top quality orthodontics and creating bright smiles for a lifetime. Dr. Hernandez specializes in orthodontics for children and adults, including metal brackets, clear brackets and retainers. She is also an Invisalign certified provider. We offer a complimentary examination for first time patients to meet with Dr. Hernandez and find out about all the different treatment options that are available to them. Dr. Liliana Hernandez was born and raised in beautiful Bogota, Colombia where her passion for dentistry began at a very early age. Her Father a Prosthodontist and Mother an Endodontist, she spent a lot of time in a dental setting developing her interests and learning the various aspects of excellent dental care.
In 1985 Dr. Hernandez graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia after which she continued an additional 2 year orthodontic residency program to graduate with a Master of Science specializing in Orthodontics at UNAM, the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
After marrying her husband Rafael in 1995 and moving to California where Rafael worked as an International Sales Manager for an orthodontic products ad services company, Dr. Hernandez completed a 2 year postdoctoral studies program in the education and research of orthodontics under world renowned orthodontics Dr. Lawrence Andrews and in 1997 she became licensed by the Dental Board of California.
Over the next several years she continued in practice and her and her husband started a family and were blessed with their two beautiful children Daniel and Laura. In 2008 they moved their family to the cozy country town of Valley Center where in 2013 she opened her own practice where she currently practices.
Dr. Hernandez had the opportunity to learn from some of the world's most distinguished orthodontists such as, the late Dr. Ronald H. Roth, Dr. Ronald M. Roncone, and Dr. Richard P. McLaughlin. She continues her studies in the field's most current research and technology and to this day her passion drives her commitment to providing her patients with excellence in care.
Leslie started her dental career in high school, sterilizing instruments as an after school job. She enjoyed the work so much she went to school to become a registered dental assistant. She was hired and further trained as an orthodontic dental assistant. The opportunity arose for a position as a patient care coordinator and seemed to be a perfect fit for her. Leslie joined our team in 2020 as our Office Manager. She has a passion for people and loves the interaction with our wonderful patients. Leslie strives to ensure every patient who walks through the door feels welcomed and cared for. She feels privileged to work for an awesome doctor and amazing staff. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and sons. She loves staying fit, going to the river, traveling and working on house projects.

Patricia has 28 years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistance and Lab Technician specializing in Orthodontics. She enjoys working alongside the doctor to help achieve beautiful smiles and happy patients.
Patricia is Mom to a wonderful daughter named Casie and enjoys spending time with her friends and family (which include her dog, Delilah and 2 cats, Sammy and Gizmo). On her free time she loves going to the movies, traveling and discovering new restaurants and scenic spots.
Samona is known for her kind and caring personality. She strives to make every patient feel comfortable and at ease.On her days off, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to museums, doing beach activities, and traveling.

I was dissatisfied with the way my son's teeth turned out. The bite is not level. The top teeth look higher on one side, which makes his smile look crooked. I was disappointed with the quality of the end product. The Orthodontist was nice and the cost was reasonably priced but I was unsatisfied with the end product.

Best Orthodontist ever. She is an artist. My Smile is as beautiful today as it was when she took off my braces 6 years ago. She is so talented. I would do it all again!

If you are looking for someone who will put your kid first and truly cares look no further. Dr. Hernandez is the most caring and honest Orthodontist around. I went to three different consultations and she spent the most time with us and was the most caring.

I've been coming to see Dr. Hernandez for the past 2 years. She's the best orthodontist you can ask for. When other orthodontists turned me away, she didn't. And now, thanks to her, I finally have straight, beautiful teeth!

I have been to Dr. Hernandez's Office several times. I have always been treated with kindness and respect. She is such a kind and positive person. Her staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Hernandez is, hands down, the nicest orthodontist I've ever dealt with. In fact, I don't even want to limit it to the dental profession. She is the nicest doctor I've ever met. Her smile is contagious. And that's fitting, considering she's fitting braces on people to make their smiles better. There is not a more professional person in the field, and I'm happy to have met her. For anyone considering where to go, this is the place. It's not only worth making the trip if you live in Escondido or the surrounding areas, but...even if you lived 100 miles away, you'd be wise to make the trip there.

After doing a consultation with another orthodontist that wanted to pull teeth and stick me with Invisalign for a higher cost, I scheduled a consultation with Doctor Hernandez. She told me there was no need to pull anything using traditional orthodontics. She told me if I was her son, this is what she'd advise. I trusted her and I'm glad I did. I'm a year into treatment and everyone tells me what a difference it's made already. She's also super sweet and has a great demeanor with kids and adults alike. I can tell she loves her work and does it for the right reasons. I'd make the same decision again, any day of the week....

All the ladies who work at this office are super nice and seem to genuinely care. Dr. Hernandez is a perfectionist and takes the time and effort needed to get it right. She is great about listening and addressing any of your concerns and is super accommodating when curve balls come up. As an adult it was great to have the clear brackets as an aesthetic option, especially since I ended up getting married with them. I felt very comfortable with my whole experience here and am happy with my results. I would definitely recommend!
