Dr. Gurecka graduated from West Virginia University Magna Cum Laude with degrees in both Chemistry and Biology with a minor in History.He then worked as a chemist/production engineer for 2 years beforereturning to Pittsburgh to attend the University of Pittsburgh Dental School where he graduated with Honors (OmicronKappa Upsilon). Immediately after graduation Dr. Gurecka completed a General Practice Residency at Allegheny General Hospital and, shortly afterward, passed his board exams and was admitted as a Fellow in the American Association of Hospital Dentists (now Special Care in Dentistry).He later returned to the University of Pittsburgh to attend the Katz Graduate School of Business and receive his Executive MBA with a focus on the emerging field of Biotechnology and Bone Tissue Engineering.Dr. Gureckapractices at Valley Brook Dental located in McMurray, PA and resides in Upper St. Clair with his wife and daughter where he is active in church and community programs.Outside of the office, Dr. Gurecka loves to bike, swim, ski, and almost anything involving being outdoors. He recently completed his first historical novel and is proofing for publication.
Dr. Gurecka is an avid participant in continuing education and likes to stay current with developing technologies in order to offer his patients the best possible care. He is a member of the ADA, PDA, WPDS, AAID,AO (Academy of Osseointegration), and Fellow SCDA (Special Care Dentistry Association. This includes Geriatric Care, Hospital and Special Needs Dental Care.

As a dental professional, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients. As a doctor, I recognize that my patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me and my team. That is just one reason why I value each and every patient relationship.
I am fortunate to have surrounded myself with honest, hard-working,and skilled staff members who have a wide variety of skill sets and clinical experience in the field of Dentistry. They are professional, caring, and sincerely enjoy helping patients on a daily basis.
Sharon is a graduate of the Kinman Business College with a degree in Dental Assisting. She has worked in the field since 1973 and has been working with Dr. Gurecka for 14 years. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys gardening, antiquing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Christina has a bachelor of science education from Cal U and assisting/ dental hygiene from Pitt and graduated in 1988. Herfamily moved to the south hills from Belmont, MA. She and her husband have 2 children both attending Pitt for dental hygiene.
Pricilla received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from West Liberty University. She is passionate about oral health and helping her patients better understand the oral-systemic health link. She enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and working on art projects.
Paige received her associate's in dental hygiene at the University of Pittsburgh. She is still attending Pitt to obtain her bachelor's in health management and will graduate in May 2022! Her ultimate goal is to work hygiene, but until then she will be getting to know everyone by assisting! In Paiges free time she enjoys playing tennis, working on cars, and watching hockey!! I have been a patient of Dr. Joe's for probably 30 years and cannot imagine going elsewhere. He is about as professional as possible and an expert in many fields. I have had many root canals done and recently had an implant done which was a very interesting experience. Also in the very near future a member of my family will be having implant surgery of a larger scale done and that was meticulously explained to us.The staff is wonderful ... from smiling Angela to all of the hygienists and assistants and the facility is very Clean and inviting. I'm just not sure what more they can do to make a dental visit more pleasant. It's hard to say that I actually enjoy a dental visit but it's like visiting with family there.

Valley Brook Dental has been my dental go to for over 12 years. The first face you get to see is Angela. She can make the grumpiest person smile because she is a beautiful soul, friendly and accommodating. Next, one of Dr. Gurecka's staff comes out to lead you to your room, all the while being friendly and answering any of your dental concerns. They communicate with you the entire time and let you know what they are about to do. One of the best things that I like about Dr. Gurecka is how he communicates with his own staff and the patient while he is working on you. It really sets me at ease. I highly recommend Valley Brook Dental for all your dental needs.

Dishonest and materialistic to the extreme this dentist would not hesitate a bit to perform procedures which would bring him top dollar without informing you and getting your approval. Beware of the skunk and stay away! Zero stars if that was an option.

I would like to take time out of my busy schedule to thank Dr. Gurecka for taking the time to explain my options regarding the problem with my tooth. My previous dentist could not take the time to explain what needed to be done, my options, or what the outcome may be. I feel very comfortable with his diagnosis, and will be proceeding with his recommendation. I would also like to take a minute to thank Billie Lewis, my dental hygienist, who has found a new home with Dr. Gurecka, and who recommended me to meet with him.

I recently had my 4 year old for a cleaning and a check up. Dr. Gurecka and his staff are amazing!!! They are very good with children. After all said and done, my son asked if they can clean his teeth again. He said "that was fun can they clean them again". Thank you all for such a great experience!!

Dr. Gurecka and his staff are just superior! I have been coming here for over 10 years and every time is an absolute pleasure. I bring my children here and the hygienists do a fantastic job with them and are so friendly! Angela is always more than accommodating and so pleasant. The office is very clean and updated throughout! Dr. Gurecka is truly one of the best around. A well deserved 5 star rating!!

Valley Brook Dental is the most wonderful place to be. You are greeted by a lovely, smiling Angela and before a moment passes you are welcomed by smiling hygienists. Dr. Gurecka is kind and thorough. I feel at peace when I see him taking careful time to consider my dental needs and convey them with great detail and gentleness. It is easy to trust this man and relax. He is so experienced evidenced by all the options/solutions he makes available . I love this office and am so thankful I found them. Valley Brook is the BEST!
