After many years of rigorous education and, more importanly, diverse clinical practice, Dr. Irena Vaksman, a San Francisco dentist, truly understands the value of quality patient care and how to provide it. Adhering to the principles of conservative dentistry, she continually stresses the importance of treating less patients per day, and spending more time with each one. This allows her to effectively educate patients about preventative dental health or, if medically necessary, about treatment options for an existing condition.
In addition to graduating New York University School of Dentistrys prestigious Advanced Education in General Residency program, Dr. Vaksman has many years of extensive expertise in both clinical and cosmetic practices, as well as serving as a restorative dentistry instructor at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.
Dr. Vaksman stays on the forefront of cosmetic and preventative dentistry through advanced continuing dental education, and is also committed to keeping the San Francisco dental office green-friendly through such things as: computerized X-rays (to minimize radiation exposure and eliminate film processing chemicals), sanitized and filtered water, and a mercury-free policy. Most importantly, Dr. Vaksman has devoted her career to treating all of her patients with the greatest care, and providing each patient with the best quality treatment.
She also believes in giving back to her community by contributing time and resources to several charitable organizations. She is a local board member of Smiles For a Lifetime, a national organization devoted to providing free orthodontic dental care to underprivileged kids; and is also a committee member of the Jewish Family & Childrens Services, where she helps to organize community outreach programs. The office also participates in Operation Gratitude by helping to gather care packages, which are meant to show our appreciation to our troops with the aim of lifting morale.
Dr. Semi Lim is a board certified periodontist and a scholar of International Congress of Oral Implantologists.She is a member of all relevant dental societies including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, and the California Society of Periodontists. Dr. Lim loves to work closely with her patients, and believes that communication and clear understanding are the most important keys in achieving the best outcomes. As such, treatment options, advantages and disadvantages are always presented and discussed with patients.
Dr. Semi Lim attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for her undergraduate degree, after which she received her dental degree and specialty training in Periodontics and Implantology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Lim is an assistant professor at University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, and has received numerous awards for education excellence. She has advanced clinical experiences in: Comprehensive Periodontal Therapy, Guided Tissue Regeneration, Periodontal Plastic & Esthetic Surgery, Implant Treatment Planning & Placement and Sinus Elevation and ridge augmentation Procedures.
Dr. Heena Gupta is a general dentist who graduated from the renowned Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. She went one to complete a general practice residency at the VA Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
With a focus on comprehensive care and patient education, Dr. Gupta is committed to helping her patients achieve optimal oral health. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and regularly takes continuing education courses to stay current and enhance her skills. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry, and is an Invisalign provider.

I had a last minute appointment for a crown that had fallen off and I was able to get in with Mr. Patel! He was so sweet and gentle and explained everything step by step which made the consultation more comfortable and put me at ease! I found out I had an infection and needed a tooth removal and he was so professional and kind throughout the whole process and ensured that I was comfortable at all times!! I'm so grateful I was able to stumble upon this clinic and have such a great experience, especially for someone like me who dreads the dentist :/ highly recommend :) <3

Excellent appointment. Wonderful beautiful staff. I love my dentist. Got my teeth cleaned today. My dentist is the best. Another painless cleaning at my all time favorite dentist office. From the front desk to the doctors, they are beautiful, skilled, and very professional. I hope they never go anywhere

Finding a new dentist is always a struggle. This place had great reviews and lived up to them! Don't let the modest looking older building fool you. The inside is very nice, clean, and modern. I had the option of watching netflix during the cleaning, but I declined. Everyone was very nice and made sure I was comfortable, willing to deal with any special requests/needs I had.

Dr. Vaksman is a great dentist! Having not gone to the dentist in 2 years due to the pandemic, she really put me at ease with her clear communication and advice. The technicians were efficient and very caring. I would highly recommend this great dental office to everyone!

Krysten once again took great care of me in preparation for my exam in a few days. She told me exactly what she was about to do and what to expect now and over the next few days, and she was very transparent about the process throughour. I was under a tight timeline and she was very sensitive to it and got me out on time. This has been my experience with everyone at the office. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful experience at Vaksman! As soon as I walked into the door, I was greeted and checked in by their staff Melodi , despite being a new patient she already knew my name! Oscar and Dr. S (I wasn't sure how to spell her name) they were both accommodating and caring. Dr. S made sure I was comfortable through the process and was very kind! Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I have been going to Vaksman for our dental services for 2 years now. They are friendly, very accommodating and are great about reminders. When we loss a family member and needed to reschedule our appointment, Vaksman Dental was more than accommodating. In fact, they even sent my family a sympathy card signed by staff members and doctors. It really makes a difference when you go to an office that takes the time to personalize your experience and we really feel taken care of at this office. We can't imagine going anywhere else.

As someone who admittedly avoided the dentist at all cost, Vaksman Dental came to my rescue. All the employees are so wonderful, well-informed and nonjudgemental. Melody is the office manager and is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met! I had two very lengthy appointments performed by Dr. Gupta and I can honestly say I barely felt a thing. She did a fantastic job. They give you headphones and an ipad to watch Netflix if you need distraction and it's great if you hate that drill noise. They are all wonderful, can't say enough great things about the women who helped me here. I am no longer scared to go to the dentist!
