Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, Craig P. Vacek, DDS, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in 1998. He attended the University of Nebraska, Medical Center College of Dentistry and completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2002. He graduated with distinction and recognition as the International College of Dentists outstanding graduating senior. Dr. Vacek entered private practice in 2002.
Dr. Vacek is a clinical evaluator for the Clinicians Report, advisory board member of the Southeast Community College Dental Assisting program and a member of the CERECdoctors.com mentors group. He shares his knowledge with peers and furthers his philosophy of providing technologically-advanced care to increase efficiency and comfort for better patient experiences and outcomes.
Dr. Vacek is happily married to his wife of 16 years, Kim. They have seven children, Joe, Abby, Kate, Maggie, Clare, William and Benjamin. In addition to family time and the non-stop excitement of seven kids, Dr. Vacek enjoys outdoor activities, including pheasant hunting, camping and, his favorite pastime, bass fishing.
Originally from the West Coast, Gregory W. Bennett, DMD earned his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in 2006. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) in 2010 and followed on with a General Practice Residency at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.
Dr. Bennett served in the US Navy as a Dental Corps officer until 2015 with time spent in California, Mississippi, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Hawaii. Dr. Bennett left the Navy in 2015 and began teaching part-time in the Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry at the UNMC College of Dentistry while maintaining a private practice.
In 2019, Dr. Bennett joined the faculty of UNMC as a full-time Assistant Professor of CADCAM andDigital Dentistry. Like Dr. Vacek, Dr. Bennett is driven with a passion for exploring the most up-to-date technology in order to advance dental treatment with improved efficiency, comfort, and outcomes.
Dr. Bennett is happily married to his high school sweetheart and wife of 12 years, Ashley. They currently have one child, Finn. Dr. Bennett spends his free time with his family hiking, fishing, cooking, and traveling, when possible.
Originally from the Boston area, Nicholas J Murray, DMD earned his undergraduate degree from Providence College in 2002. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) in 2007 at Tufts University School of Dentistry (Boston, MA), and continued his dental education at Ft. Jackson, SC, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Dr. Murray served in the US Army as a Brigade Dentist and Triage Officer with the 3rd HBCT/3rd Brigade out of Ft Benning, GA until 2011. After fulfilling his Army commitment, Dr. Murray worked in private practices in San Antonio and El Paso while his wife, Betsy Murray MD, completed her medical training, and her active-duty commitment to the US Army.
In 2019, Dr. Murray and his family moved back to his wifes hometown of Lincoln, NE, where he accepted a position at UNMC College of Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor of general dentistry, focusing on CADCAM and Digital Dentistry. Dr. Murray believes in doing things right the first time, using modern technology and proven advances in dentistry to achieve the highest quality of dentistry and optimize the patient experience.
Dr. Murray is happily married to his wife of 11 years, Betsy, and they are glad they have found their forever home in Lincoln, NE. They have four young children Morgan, Dakota, Gunnar, and Bo. Although free time is a luxury, Dr. Murray enjoys family road trips, football, working out, and cooking.
Sheila graduated from Central Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1985. She practiced as a dental hygienist for nearly 20 years before joining the Vacek Family Dentistry team as our amazingly organized and efficient office manager in 2006. With a total of 29 years of experience in dentistry, she wears many hats and handles our front office like a pro and always with a friendly smile!
Sheila is your primary contact at Vacek Family Dentistry. She is knowledgeable not only in clinical dentistry but also managing the logistical aspects of patient care including, insurance, financing and coordination of treatment. Sheila is a valuable asset to our practice, but even more so to our patients.
Originally from Grand Island, Nebraska, Sheila shares a home with her husband, Scott, and their son, Daniel. She enjoys spending her free time with Scott and Daniel and cheering on Husker football. Go Big Red!.
Morgan joined Vacek Family Dentistry as a full-time hygienist in June 2015. She originally graduated from Doane College in 2010, with a bachelors in Biology. Later, deciding to pursue a career as a hygienist, Morgan graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry with a bachelors in Dental Hygiene. She has shared her love for dentistry by being involved with Lincoln Dental Hygienist Association and the Nebraska Dental Hygienist Association. Morgan enjoys working with the friendly, energized staff and appreciates the level of knowledge and care given to our patients. She loves traveling with her husband, James, and spending time with their daughters, Haley and Amelia.
Kim is a native of Johnson, NE and joined our team in 2019 with several years of dental experience. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where she received her Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene and was the recipient of the Outstanding Community Achievement Award. Throughout her career she has held roles which include faculty member in the Dental Hygiene department at UNMC, sleep therapy coordinator, and practice manager. She received her soft tissue laser certification in 2008 and continues to seek out educational opportunities to allow her to deliver the highest level of care. As a part of our hygiene team, Kim is eager to help patients achieve beautiful and healthy smiles through patient education and the use of the latest techniques and technology. Kim loves getting to know people and is excited to be part of a team of experienced professionals who appreciate the relentless pursuit of excellence. Outside of work she enjoys sports, music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She currently resides in Waverly with her husband Justin, son Grayson, and golden retriever, Fenway.
Kylie is a graduate of Concordia University of Nebraska, where she continued her softball career and graduated with a bachelors degree in Educational Studies. She continued her education at Southeast Community College in Lincoln where she received her degree in Dental Assisting. Kylie joined the Vacek Family Dentistry team in 2018. When shes not helping and comforting patients you can find her traveling and spending time with her family.
Nadya is a graduate of Southeast Community College. She earned her certification from the Dental Assisting National Board in 2013 and joined the Vacek team that same year. Nadya enjoys keeping both Dr. Vacek and Dr. Gufford on-task. Although Nadya is part-time at our office, you will always know when she is here because of the extra laughter in the office. Outside of dentistry, Nadya enjoys spending time in the kitchen and traveling with her family. She is married to Andrey and they have three young children.
Audrey grew up right here in Lincoln and has been working in Dentistry since 2017. While shes currently one of our Certified Dental Assistants, shes pursuing a career in Dental Hygiene and continuing her education at Southeast Community College with the intention of transferring to UNL. While not at work, Audrey keeps herself busy with her four beautiful children and she loves to spend time crafting with them.
