Dr. Mai grew up in Northern California. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University fo California, Davis. She went on to attain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Mai chose to further pursue a specialty in pediatric dentistry because she enjoys working with and providing safe, comfortable treatment for children. She completed an additional two years of training at Childrens Hospital of Michigan. Throughout this two year program she cared for children of all ages with an increased focus on those with special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy and cleft lip/palate. THis hospital-based residency provided a safe environment to treat the dental needs of children under general anesthesia, conscious sedation and/or nitrous oxide.
In her spare time, Dr. Mai enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also likes to hike and cook. She enjoys being a part of the Vacaville Community and caring for the children of Vacaville and surrounding areas.
My name is Shelby. I graduated from Carrington College for medical billing and coding. I recently finished my externship here at Vacaville Pediatric Dentistry and feel in love with the atmosphere. I have been lucky enough to be able to stay and continue my work, the kids make each day fun & exciting.

Very rushed, assistants are not friendly, doctor doesn't go out of her way to be friendly or talk to the child. I wasn't impressed at all.

Dr. Mai is wonderful. She did a fantastic job with my daughter. As soon as my son turns two, he will be her new patient. She always takes time to explain what she is doing.

Our recent visit, as with all our visits, was incredible. My 4 year old is on the Autism Spectrum and is very hyper and impulsive. Dr. Mai is so understanding and welcoming, which allows the appointments to be manageable and successful.

Dr. Mai Tran has been treating my children for a year and half now. Her office is super kid friendly and fun. Her entire staff is incredibly cheerful and positive and make the anxiety of going to the dentist melt away. Dr. Mai personally answered a phone call at 10:30 pm on a Saturday night to help us with a tooth emergency, and I was blown away with her compassion and care for my child during her personal, family time. She even looked at pictures I sent to help determine next steps. It's so rare to find such extraordinary care and service these days, you will not be disappointed with Dr. Mai!

My three year old loved this place. Exceptionally friendly and loving staff. Dr. Mai was wonderful. Excellent experience. She wanted to stay and was disappointed that she had to leave. Even asked to go back so she play with the magnetic wall.

Clean and friendly. Second visit today. My toddler is not an easy patient- screamed and cried but the staff were able to calm him down. I felt totally comfortable with their methods and appreciated their skill and ability to comfort my son while still being able to perform cleaning and check up. Dr. Mai and the staff are professional, straight forward and sweet. It is worth noting again that the office and exam area was extremely neat and clean.

We hoped our almost 2 year old would become comfortable coming to the dentist and share a similar experience as I did as a child. Unfortunately, our first visit will be our last. We anticipated a lot of time and patience spent at the first visit to help our son be comfortable with the idea of being at the dentist and someone putting their hands and instruments in his mouth. This was not what we experienced. Although he sat on my lap, we were tilted back beyond what was needed, a bright light was shined in his eyes, and I was asked to hold his arms down. We were told, "in six months he will only remember that this didn't hurt." I'm sorry, but I disagree and will be seeking care elsewhere.

I think Dr.Mai is very proactive in treating and protecting baby and adult teeth. My son had a small cavity on a baby tooth next to an adult tooth, and I liked that she treated it BEFORE it became a major problem. See you in 6 months!!
