Vacaville Dental Professionals was established in 2013 when the practice was purchased from Dr. David Aronson. Dr. Aronson practiced in the same location since 1986. Our office is situated in a serene park setting, with floor to ceiling windows. We strive to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for all patients.
The doctors at Vacaville Dental Professionals have a passion for helping people and exploring the world of medicine. They take the time with every patient to listen to their needs and treat each patient comprehensively. It is this approach that helps our patients achieve optimal oral health, unlike any other Vacaville dentist.
We are also blessed to have Dr. Vagan Tapaltsyan on staff, who aside from holding a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) also holds a PhD in stem cell and regenerative medicine. Both Dr. O'Brien and Dr. Tapaltsyan are graduates of the University of California School of Dentistry (UCSF). Dr. Rodriguez was recruited by Drs. Tapaltsyan and O'Brien for his advanced level of understanding in implant dentistry.
A Berkeley resident since 2010, Dr. Tapaltsyan spent the first part of his childhood in Europe, attending a foreign language immersion preparatory school before moving to the US for high school. He went on to graduateSumma Cum Laudewith a BS in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma, where he was also a member of the sailing team. Continuing on his lifelong path of going West, Dr. Tapaltsyan moved to California for graduate studies and received both his DDS and PhD in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine from UCSF, where he currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor and is the Director of Evidence-Based Dentistry Program.
In addition to practicing dentistry and teaching, Dr. Tapaltsyan's research interests include understanding how dental stem cells develop and evolve, which can one day help us regenerate new teeth and bone. He has authored many research articles and book chapters on this subject and lectures internationally.
Dr. Tapaltsyan is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the American Academy of Laser Dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys occasional crewing for sailboat races, drawing, hiking, reading, and exploring the great outdoors with his German shorthair pointer Duke.

I cannot recommend this dental professional enough. I'm 71 years old and have been to many dentists in my life, not on a regular basis either, but these professionals are the best I've ever been with. Four deep cleanings and one crown and I have yet to feel any pain or discomfort on any visit. No need to put off a visit if you are in any need for dental work.

Dr. O'Brien and staff are wonderful! I now have healthy and beautiful teeth, thanks to Dr. O'Brien and staff!!!! They provided excellent dental care and worked with me on a plan to assure I was happy with my teeth!:) They're honest, kind, efficient and flexible. I highly recommend them for ALL your dental needs.

I don't like going to the dentist, but if I have to go, the staff here and Dr O'Brien are very nice, courteous and kind. Ialso feel safe and confident in their skill and knowledge. It would be nice to have some Where's Waldo or other entertaining posters on the ceiling to stare at for distraction lol. Thank you for the great care!

Wow! What a great experience. I recently moved to the area and this is hands down my best cleaning experience. Fast, efficient, clean, lots of parking, and nice people to work with. Ruth (hygienist) and Colleen (front desk) were fantastic. Can't wait to head back to take care of my cavity. Never thought I'd say that.

I wholeheartedly recommend going to Vacaville Dental Professionals! I hadn't had a dental cleaning in over a decade for various reasons and was sure they were going to scold me for how long I'd been without a cleaning, but instead they were supportive and kind. Dr. O'Brien, Kim, and Ruth were all fantastic, efficient, and friendly. I've already recommended them to my family.
