I have 20 years of experience in the food industry, 15 of which was decorating novelty and wedding cakes. I have been a hygienist for nearly 13 years, 12 of which have been at Vaca Valley Dental. My two canine companions take up much of my free time along with weight training and home improvements.I enjoy the day to day unique and individual personalities that enter my dental chair. Dr. Mehta has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry for 15 years. He graduated from the University of the Pacific Dental School with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2002 as one oftwo students to complete an accelerated 5 year undergraduate and dental program (normally8 years). He then spent an additional year of residency with UOP in an optional AdvancedEducation in General Dentistry (AEGD) program that encompassed all aspects of dentistry.
Among other procedures, Dr. Mehta is skilled in laser dentistry, Invisalign, implant surgery andrestoration, veneers, bonding, whitening, natural tooth-colored fillings, and digital dentistry. He has completed hundreds of hours of post graduate continuing education and is committedto providing the finest care possible to his patients.
Dr. Mehta and his wife, Payal, have two daughters, Aria and Alina. As a devoted husband and father, you will often hear Dr. Mehta sharing stories and pictures of his family. When time allows, Dr. Mehta enjoys practicing photography and tinkering with technologies.
My dentist, Dr. Mehta, is extremely gentle when you have to get numbed up. He's also very friendly, super easy on the eyes, and he always calls a few days later to check on your condition. It makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Dr. Mehta is really knowledgeable about your condition and really good at explaining stuff making you an expert at your particular condition. Dr. Mehta gets 5 stars I really like this place and feel that they are a top notch dental facility... or at least my dentist, Dr. Mehta, is. I've been using Dr. Mehta's services for three and a half years now and after going through 3 previous dentists, let me just tell you that he is THE BEST DENTIST I've ever had. Besides the usual 6 month checkups and cleanings, Dr. Mehta has fixed two of my cavities and has replaced all of my previous silver fillings with natural color fillings. Dr. Mehta is professional, he explains his procedures thoroughly before you make your decision and he explains his procedures while he operates; so you know exactly what's going on. To make things less painful he applies topical anesthetic gel before using the big needles to further numb your mouth before a procedure. Dr. Shahryar Khodai grew up in Davis, CA and graduated from UC Davis in 1996. Dr. Khodai receivedhis doctoratesof Dental Surgery at Case Western University in Cleveland, OH in 2000, where he was a class president. Dr. Khodai is always advancing his skills and knowledge by attending continuous education seminars. Dr. Khodai is Board Certified in Oral Conscious Sedationand Invisalign certified. He has had Invisalign himself to perfect his own smile. Dr. Khodai has been trained by Dr. Carl Misch and holds a certification from world known MISCH International Implant intuition.

Absolute scammers at this dental office. They try to sell you services you do not need and every procedure I have ever gotten done at this office has not healed right, caused me great pain or was completely unneeded. They try to sell you anything they possibly can. I went in for a routine cleaning, they told me I had cavities starting between my teeth and to get them filled. I got one filled and I had to go back three times for them to fix it because I couldn't close my mouth all the way. Now, the place where they worked on hurts incredibly bad anytime I eat on that side and I have to get a root canal. For a routine cavity fill! I am so upset with them I wish I had never trusted them. Do NOT go here.

The insurance specialist got back to me very quickly with my requested quote and answers to all my coverage inquiries. Dr. G takes great care of me and my teeth. His examination was very thorough and he patiently answers all my questions eat each visit. I had a filling done with him today and it was by far the most gentle filling procedure I'd ever experienced. Highly recommend this office.

Well, I had to look forward to the dreaded root canal. While I am not one to be "thrilled" at going to the Dentist, I am thankful for the most capable and pleasant people at Vaca Valley Dental. They made an apprehensive patient (me) very comfortable and actually as pleasant experience as possible. Dr. Arvin Mehta was very good. I am thankful that he is my Dentist. I did not think that I would ever write a review for something like this. Yet, here I am. I am a believer. I must tell you that I rewarded myself with a sticker. I figure, at 62 years old --- why not!

This dental office is awful. If you read nothing else, Call your insurance to verify what they say because they tried getting me in to do something NOT authorized!!! This is the final straw in our time here. Our insurance did not cover our old office due to a change and we switched here based on the reviews. The cleanings are not thorough at vaca valley. My daughter came out with plaque and a visit at oral surgery said the cleaning needed to be redone. He was even horrified at how bad the work was with her teeth. Took her back and the doctor at Vaca Valley lectured, "this is why you need to come in every six months". We do come in every six months and she was extremely rude. I was shocked at how condescending she is. My checkup showed I had the start of a cavity but Doctor Romeo said come back when it starts to bother you. When I called, when it started bothering me, they wanted me to do another cleaning and xray before they would fix my pain and consult. I am in pain now, not a month from now when it is worse!! Why wouldn't they just fix it right then and there if I had to jump hoops when it hurr? I felt they were trying to scam more money out of me. They over charged me for one visit and I have a huge credit I now have to fight to get back. They would not let the insurance process my payment first and wanted money up front. I have to get my money refunded and switch offices. Thankfully, I called my insurance to verify I can not have more mouth xrays and if I had scheduled the appointment I would have had a full bill for the visit. This place is a mess and a nightmare. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else!!!

The staff and doctors are the best! They really treat you special! Everyone hates going to the dentist.......but they really make it a pleasurable experience and that's why I keep going back! I actually look forward to going! Whaaat?!

I had been going to Vaca Valley for the last couple of years, hygienist was great however when I needed a filling replace they screwed up. After three visits for them to fix their work, still having issues with the tooth. Worst dentist, worst work I've ever experienced.

My wife and 5 daughters have gone to Vaca Valley Dental for 20 plus years. I love the caring staff and dentist there. They use modern technology and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I highly recommend them. They really are the best

Best dentist I've ever had and I've had many in my 45yrs. Great experience every time! Hygienists are very knowledgeable and friendly, doctors and techs are the most amazing at taking care of my every dental need. Quality work and efficient operation. Have late appointments that works great with commuters. God bless!
