Dr. Chris Kirby specializes in dental sleep medicine and has been in private practice for over 32 years. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM), a member of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA), as well as the Foundation for Airway Health. Dr. Kirby is a board-certified expert in sleep, treating patients who suffer from sleep and breathing disorders. He is committed to raising awareness of sleep issues and oral appliance therapy as a treatment option for the common, but often undiagnosed, condition of sleep apnea. Dr. Kirby is a 1988 graduate of Baylor School of Dentistry and a proud Texas A&M Aggie.

Dr. Kirby earned his bachelors degree from Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Dental surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry. His unyielding pursuit of excellence and perfection has been the driving force behind his extensive background in comprehensive, esthetic, and implant dentistry, as well as dental sleep medicine.
He is also a graduate of the Baylor Esthetic Continuum. After completing a year of rigorous surgical training at the Misch Institute in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Kirby was awarded one of the highest honors bestowed upon a dental professional. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. His commitment to education includes an affiliation with the Kois Center of Seattle, which aims to advance restorative dentistry through cutting-edge science. He also recently became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), which means that he has clearly demonstrated his impressive knowledge and credibility regarding the treatment of snoring/obstructive sleep apnea through custom oral appliances.
Dr. Kirby is proud to have been selected by his peers as an outstanding practicing dentist in Texas consecutively since 2008. After an extensive nomination and research process, the results are published in Texas Super Dentists, a special advertising section in the December issue of TEXAS MONTHLY magazine. Known as a perfectionist, Dr. Kirby focuses on total care of his patients in a compassionate and professional manner. Armed with almost 30 years of dental experience, Dr. Kirby is able to provide the high quality dental care youve come to expect from our office! Family and home life are important commitments to Dr. Kirby. He and his wife, Tempe, reside in Longview and have two children, Landen and Sierra, as well as two grandchildren he adores.
A native Texan, Dr. Vaca was raised in Ennis, near Dallas, before moving to the Longview area. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Texas A&M University and attended the Baylor College of Dentistry where he received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Vaca practiced general and cosmetic dentistry in Dallas for several years before joining Grogan Dental Group in 1998, later partnering with Dr. Chris Kirby in 2006 to form Vaca and Kirby Dental.
Dr. Vaca travels throughout the country each year learning world-class techniques in cosmetic and laser dentistry. He believes the future in the dental field revolves around implant and laser dentistry. His goal is to bring world class dentistry to Longview and the East Texas area.
Dr. Vaca is a member of the American Dental Association, the East Texas Dental Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Sleep and Breathing Academy. He also has received extensive training at the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum-Live. This exclusive program is dedicated to excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Vaca was named as a Patient Reviews Certified Top Doctor in Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Vaca enjoys hunting, fishing, sporting events, cooking, golfing, music, and Bible study. He is also a past member of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Gregg County. He and his wife, Bethany, reside in Longview with their daughter, Elizabeth Virginia.

I had a great dental cleaning and oral health check today. Shyanne was extremely thorough, gentle, and showed me very clear images of my gum area that needs a little extra love. She is doing a DNA saliva test to determine the health of my gums and look for bad bacteria that can affect my overall health. I appreciate how thorough the hygienists are here. THE BEST!

I have known and worked closely with staff at Vaca Kirby Dental for nearly 10 years and Dr. Kirby is also my personal dentist. I had extensive dental work and implants done and although I was glad I had teeth, they were not useful. Instead, my bite was off, my teeth hurt, and I still could not eat. This had been going on for quite awhile. I had been looking for someone that could fix my bite, and I believe Jesus led me here for such a time as this. Dr. Kirby LISTENED to me and never made me feel stupid or like I didn't know what I was talking about. He gave me confidence! Long story short- I am EATING and ENJOYING my food!! I am so HAPPY! He and the staff are so kind and nice. They actually make you feel like family, and I love seeing their smiling faces and hearing their cheerful voice when I call or come in. I went to Vaca & Kirby Dental & Sleep Well Longview because I was told I had OSA. Met with Lacy and Dr. Kirby and was tested to see if I was a good candidate for a dental device rather than having to use a CPAP. They answered the various questions I had regarding the dental devices they offered and the process. They have been following my progress for the past year and my husband and I have noticed a difference in how I sleep. I breath easier and snore less.

I had visited another dentist and had a very bad experience. I was an addict for almost 20 years and have been drug free for 4 1/2 years. My teeth are in terrible shape. Dr. Vaca was very kind.
