Had my wisdom teeth removed. The staff at UTMB were very friendly and explained the procedure in great detail. Dr. Throndson, Ginger, and Jennifer acted professional and I would definitely use them again.

I've gone back and forth with writing this for some time but I feel as though it is necessary to warn people about this doctor. I've even considered reporting him because my experience was THAT terrible. The nurses and office staff that work here are incredible, but Roger Throndson is far from it. I decided to go here to get my wisdom teeth removed and I thought that I was making the right decision. A week or so after my surgery, serious pain started to set in, so I went in to see the doctor regarding my concerns. My fiance was concerned that I had dry socket due to my face still being swollen and the fact that I couldn't eat or move my jaw. When Dr. Throndson came in, my fiance started to address our concerns and the doctor completely cut him off. Telling him to "stop googling" and that dry socket in my mouth was "impossible." After that, my fiance said that when the doctor turned around, he rolled his eyes and looked at the clock as if I was wasting his time. He then slammed his foot down on my chair to adjust it, startling me, and I began to get emotional. This made me very uncomfortable. This doctor is rude, demeaning, and inconsiderate. I literally had to address this with a therapist because it haunted me for so long. If I could give him zero stars, I would. After reading another review and noticing how he treats women, this seems to be a common occurrence. Worst experience of my life.

The staff takes care of you. They are very nice and friendly. I love the Dr he made sure I understood everything about my treatment

My wife visited Dr. Throndson office and came home extremely disillusioned; so much so that it took all that I had to not pay a visit to him. By her account, the doctor was openly dismissive of her for no apparent rationale though he gave some ridiculous excuse that incensed her further. Yet, his staff was very friendly and helpful, but the doctor was truly condescending. It's very easy to say because she was of color that affected how he viewed her. Not trying to play the race card. we decided to give him the benefit of a doubt and only mentioned it as a possibility. Just the same it was worthy of note just in case another of color experience similar treatment. Take away what you will by this one encounter and if or when he might read this, I want him to know, "we" are watching for any future bad behavior on his part. If I could give him a negative star rating for hurting my wife emotionally, it would be a negative five stars...such is life!
