After obtaining his Bachelors Degree in 1995 he completed four years of dental school training at The University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Burton served in the student body governmentand earned awards for clinical skill, leadership,and research. He finished at the top of his class and was elected by his professors to the Honor Dental Society Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Burton then completed a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. While there, he earned a post-doctoral masters degree in oral biology from the University of Iowa Graduate College. He served as chief resident and received multiple research, leadership and academic awards while completing his education. During his residency, Dr. Burton received extensive, advanced training and experience in dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, surgical reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, general anesthesia and the treatment of facial trauma.
Dr. Burton is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association. He maintains hospital privileges at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and Timpanogos Hospital.
Dr. Burton and his wife Cindy fulfilled their dream to return and live in Utah Valley with their four very active boys. He enjoys all forms of cycling, scuba diving, Jeeping, and exploring the great State of Utah.
Dr. Jared Rasmussen is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Science and Humanities degree in 2002. His doctoral training was completed in 2007 at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, graduating at the top of his class with several academic and research awards.
He received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas followed by an internship in General Surgery. He then completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial in Dallas.
Dr. Rasmussen has gained substantial experience in all aspects of modern oral and maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery, third molar management, dental implant surgery, bone and soft tissue grafting, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, oral pathology, cleft lip and palate management.

We got referred to Dr. Burton by our orthodontist to get all 4 wisdom teeth out! The staff is super friendly and helpful - they make you feel right at home! We had a consultation (Orem) and had the actual surgery the next day in Saratoga Springs. We couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! Dr. Burton explained everything thoroughly in the consult. The next day (surgery day) he was on time, personable, and made us feel right at home. The surgery normally takes about 30 minutes but Dr. Burton, being efficient as he is, only took 20 minutes! He even called in the prescription meds before the surgery started, so by the time we arrived at the pharmacy, it was ready for pick up. For a surgery, it was a remarkable first time experience - HIGHLY recommend!

The Dr. was good. The billing staff makes this place really frustrating. They were quick to let us know that our insurance would not cover anything and would say it multiple times. At one point the billing person walked in on the Dr. and told him they cant do the $500 procedure cause they insurance didn't cover it. This was not only unprofessional but emotionally embarrassing for my wife. This was on a consultation! We gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back for the actual procedure. We had called both our dental and health insurance and our dental plan said they would happily cover 50%. When my wife arrived the billing person said that the dental will not cover and again reminded us that our health insurance would not cover it. When asked why they wouldn't cover it they said its not a dental procedure and they called them to explain that? Again we were given the codes to the same dental insurance and they covered it. In any case this place is a mess up front. They have no idea of customer service and left my wife in tears the second time. We were prepared to pay in cash, however like any normal individual we would love to run it through our insurance, and they were not wiling to see or work with us. I will follow up with them one more time and hopefully get results. As I said the Dr was really good.

Having never had serious dental work done before, I was very nervous about the whole process of having my wisdom teeth extracted. Dr Rasmussen and his team were all truly so wonderfully kind and patient dealing with me! Fantastic service! EVERY step of the way. They made ma feel welcome ad safe while I was in Significant pain. The staff were uplifting and loving taking really good care of me with a smile on their faces. Making me comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. And it was quick and easy. Definitely great people in the office and service was quick and painless they did awesome work. I have to reiterate the upbeat and happy disposition of each professional was calming. Getting mouth surgery of any kind of scary and they just overwhelm me with their happy qnd joyful care for their customers. I would recommend with the highest honors A+++ in my book and my job is leading a team of customer service reps. So I don't say this lightly, I see true honest care/kindness and love in these people. Thank you guys with the highest degree of customer service and love that you show to those you barely know.

I came here for a wisdom teeth removal, I'd give a negative star if I could, there office staff was unorganized, we went to the consolation and got a price we'd pay, but after the teeth were removed they said we had to pay WAY more. Refused to change there mistake, now we're paying more than we were told. It's ridiculous and not worth it, I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy here.

Went in this morning to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and was very anxious about it as I have never had any type of surgery before. The staff went through how the procedure works for me multiple times to make sure I was comfortable, along with being very friendly and professional. I am very impressed with the work they did, as it has only been a few hours and my swelling has drastically gone down and the pain is minimal. Thank you Dr. Rasmussen and staff for doing this procedure for me, I would highly recommend choosing this place when you need your wisdom teeth removed.

Dr Rasmussen and his entire staff are amazing!! Laid out a clear treatment plan, the extraction appointment was so easy! I loved the clear post extraction instructions. From working with his billing department to the nurses and the doctor everyone was great! I knew exactly what to expect going into the appointment and post appointment. There was no anxiety or stress associated with the extraction. I would highly recommend Dr. Rasmussen to anyone needing any oral surgery!

The staff was amazing. Very personable and friendly. Dr. Rasmussen was very good at communicating and explaining the procedure. Our son was very anxious and scared. The anesthesiologist was super cute with him and SO patient and took time to show him her tools/instruments. The instructions they gave us for after the procedure were very clear. We hardly had to wait to be seen at our appointments. Definitely going to go back if we ever need some sort of oral procedure done again.

Was recommended by our regular dentist for an emergency extraction of an infected tooth. Office staff was completely disorganized and did not even have the appointment on the schedule. Dr Burton basically accused my wife of being a drug seeker because she has a migraine medication which is rarely used and rarely filled. What a nightmare this turned into basically just trying to get a tooth pulled. Would not recommend. Will not be back.
