The surgeon and medical staff were great but unfortunately their billing and office staff is extremely negligent and unprofessional and for that reason I am leaving this bad review. I do not recommend them because of how I was treated by their billing and front desk staff and I paid $800 out of pocket because of their negligence in billing. Please beware and check with your insurance before paying them any money up front. I can understand that an honest mistake was made but they were unwilling to even admit that or be accountable for it even when I asked to speak to an office manager. Not only was the office manager unapologetic for the error but she even lied and tried to say they called me back and were unable to leave a voicemail and that simply was not true. Just checked my phone records and voice-mail to confirm that. I brought the issue to their attention before surgery, the day of the surgery, and twice after the surgery and was far too patient in waiting for them to do the right thing and in the end I had to get angry and they are still yet to be accountable. They did not bother to return my calls or resolve the billing issue and I am still waiting for them to bill my insurance correctly. So instead they went behind my back and just barely billed the insurance yesterday (supposedly) which is 2 months after the surgery occurred. This is unacceptable and unprofessional and had they at least been honest about the mistake and been willing to apologize and be kind I would have been a lot more understanding but they weren't. They were dishonest and rude and argumentative about it and I do not recommend using them for this reason. You will quite literally pay for their errors!!! Very dishonest and unprofessional.

I had a full upper and lower jaw surgery, bone graft, and implant done by Dr. Rassmussen. The surgeries were to correct my bite and fix a missing tooth due to a cleft lip and pallet. Dr Rassmussen was awesome and was patient with my billion and one questions. Unfortunately they have had to fight my insurance for the past year and a half but I'm beyond grateful for everything they have done and apparently are still doing... My bite is perfect and not to toot my own horn but my face looks better than ever. Anyone who needs a similar surgery should make an appointment and get it done with Dr Rassmussen.

Dr Rasmussen was amazing! The girls were sweethearts and everyone did everything they could to make sure I was calm and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back if needed, and referring everyone and anyone!! They also offer payment plans if you need it done but don't have the financials right away!

We got referred to Dr. Burton by our orthodontist to get all 4 wisdom teeth out! The staff is super friendly and helpful - they make you feel right at home! We had a consultation (Orem) and had the actual surgery the next day in Saratoga Springs. We couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! Dr. Burton explained everything thoroughly in the consult. The next day (surgery day) he was on time, personable, and made us feel right at home. The surgery normally takes about 30 minutes but Dr. Burton, being efficient as he is, only took 20 minutes! He even called in the prescription meds before the surgery started, so by the time we arrived at the pharmacy, it was ready for pick up. For a surgery, it was a remarkable first time experience - HIGHLY recommend!

Dr Rasmussen is amazing! My daughter's surgery and recovery was so fast for double jaw surgery! Any questions we had, he and his staff were right there to answer them for us. 100% recommend!

I won't ever take my child here again. I will first say that the work they did, and the staff who worked directly with my child were very kind and helpful. The issue here is that my kid had never done surgery and has never had anesthesia administered. She was nervous and it was a big deal with how cooperative, calm, and patient she was. We arrived and they kept talking about doing an extraction.. yet, we were not scheduled for that. We were there for a surgical exposure. (I honestly did not know 100% due to this being an ongoing, multiple dentist trip endeavor, and her mother has been taking her to most of the dentist and other appointments) They even tried to verify by looking for those teeth, which were removed the year before. They were sent the previous years plan by mistake! This here shows that this was not even reviewed prior to us arriving! And if it had been reviewed, that probably would be worse because they didn't even see it being over a year old. This is already frustrating and should be bad enough, but it does become worse. We wait while the correct treatment plan is sent. Durring this time they prep my child for the IV. After almost a hour we get the correct plan and they are ready to go, buy then I get greeted by their financial person and as they basically have the needle ready.. they say before they can proceed, you need to pay this $1000+ bill. I wasn't prepared, nor anything mentioned that this for 1, wasn't able to be billed. And 2, that this wasn't going to be part of the dentist plan with the other amounts. I understand paying for this and am not saying that paying prior is not wrong. I wasn't prepared and did not have the ability to pay at that moment (checkbook was at home, other reasons, etc) and if I wasn't going to be able to get in contact with her mom (divorced) and get this settled right then.. they would have just unprepared her?! Seriously I was able to get it figured out with a few hsa cards and phone calls in order to not leave.. but that would have been really damaging to my child who was preparing for something that to her, was a big, new, and scary thing. This was handled with really no apology and wasn't able to even "speak to a manager" on how this was honestly embarrassing for me as well as potentially a big set back. If it wasn't for a few lucky calls and working together with her mom... This obviously could have been handled better. We sat for over an hour and they couldn't give expectation of cost? They most likely had to redo the billing because they didn't have the correct "not-year-old" plan cost put together but it was really embarrassing and unprofessional. And this gives me no confidence in going back, and admittedly disappointed in following through knowing they were not prepared. Again, I trust the professional who performed the procedure, and hindsight is always better. Just know, they are not always thorough and it's yourself or your child who will pay if this happens again and isn't caught.

I had my wisdom teeth removed here a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't have had a better experience. I was so incredibly nervous as this is the first surgical procedure I've ever had done, and dr Rasmussen and his team made me feel at ease and they did an amazing job. I followed all the after care instructions and recovered quickly with no dry socket or any complications at all! My mouth is healing up nicely and the pain was not as bad as I was expecting. Also, they were very upfront and honest about the cost and I paid exactly what they quoted me, which was extremely reasonable and way less than I expected. I am so happy with my experience here and couldn't recommend it enough!!!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! The billing team here doesn't understand honesty. We were told in our consultation that there would be one bill that we paid upfront. Later we get a random bill in the mail. When we called to get an explanation, they said, "in the fine print it says you may get a second bill, and we can't do anything about it". No adjustment, no explanation of charges beforehand, and no honesty. If you want transparency and honesty, this is not your oral surgeon.

Had an infected, impacted wisdom tooth that needed an emergency removal. I'm in my 30's so the healing process was a doozy. But Dr. Burton went above and beyond to help me manage the pain, he was even willing to come in on Sundays to pack my dry socket. Extremely grateful to have that tooth out! I know having wisdom teeth pulled in your 30's comes with a ton of risks, but fortunately I don't have any numbness in my jaw or anything like that.

Dr. Rassmussen is THE BEST! And his staff was absolutely amazing too! He did BOTH of my daughters on the same day. Bless everyone's heart! Dr. R. and his team made the whole experience awesome! It was a great experience, the healing process was a breeze, and my girls were back to normal quickly. Thank you Dr. Rassmussen & crew! See you in a few years with the other kids!

I I am a general dentist that has referred to Dr. Rasmussen for 15 years. The patients always come back with a positive experience and great work. I didn't realize how awesome he was until my own wife needed treatment for some bone grafting and complex implant surgery. Dr Rasmussen is very talented and a true artist. His team make everything flow so smoothly from first greeting, gentle surgery and anesthesia, and great follow up care. I highly recommend Dr Rasmussen and his team at Utah Valley Oral Surgery.
