Dr. Jeff Knight is the son of Dr. Melvin Knight, the first periodontist to practice in Utah and in the Intermountain states. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah and attended dental school at Creighton University in Nebraska. He completed his postdoctoral specialty training in Periodontology at Oregon Health Sciences.
Dr. Nielsen attended the University of Utah and received his bachelorette in Biology. He graduated from the University of Pacific dental school in San Francisco and completed his postdoctoral specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Alabama.
Dr. Atkins graduated from the University of Utah and received his bachelors degree in Medical Biology. He attended Case Western Reserve University for both dental school and his postdoctoral specialty training in Periodontology. Dr. Atkins is board certified with the American Academy of Periodontology and is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association. Dr. Atkins enjoys cycling, woodworking, and doing martial arts with his family.

Dr. Skeene has been my periodontist for years now. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable. I love that they take care of me through out the cleanings and when needed, the major procedures. They make sure I am aware of everything that is going on. They educate me on what needs to be done. And a big plus to Dr. Skeene for taking the time to call me after hours just to check on how I am doing after a bigger procedure. Thank you for all you do and keep up the excellent work!!

My doctor, Dr. LaRisse Skene, was just incredible. Her explanation of the periodontal work to be done was complete and understandable to a lay person. The entire team that works with Dr. Skene was also very understanding and caring. They were very concerned about pain that I could have been encountering. I didn't feel a thing through the entire procedure. Follow up was explained in detail as to what to expect in the 1st few days after the procedure and ongoing.

Dr. Skeen and staff are all 5 star. She did an excellent job with my implant a few years ago and I'm back to have another tooth done. She did bone grafts this time. Called me the next morning to ask how I was doing.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, I felt very welcome. Dr. Skene very kind and gentle, answered all questions, explained everything very well. She has a very gentle touch and I felt I was in very capable hands throughout my appointment. Her expertise and technique are tops.

I think the unknown is the hardest part of things like this. I was grateful to be able to be with Dr. Skene at the first visit. We discussed the best options of what would give me the most long term benefits. She answered all of my questions and concerns and that was very comforting. Dr. Skene is always continuing her training and shares it with fellow professionals through Utah. She is very knowledgeable and talented. I would highly recommend Dr. Skene!

Dr. Skene is wonderful. She always makes me feel super welcomed and she is super comforting. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive for me to make my appointment and she and her staff (they are also fantastic!) go above and beyond to work with me so I'm not having to make extra trips. Highly recommended Dr. Skene and her South Jordan staff for all your periodontal needs!

It has been a great experience getting my implant. Doctor Skein is meticulous and thorough in her work. I am very pleased with my experience. Getting implants can be scary and overwhelming, but my experience at the Utah Periodontal office was good and I am glad I got the implant.
