Dr. Jessica Kim was born in Los Angeles, but was raised in San Diego after the age of three. Although her uncle was a dentist, the thought to become one didnt enter her mind until the second year of her undergraduate program at UCSD, where she was enrolled as a physiology and neuroscience major and a dance minor. Her love of art, science, and helping others aligned when she discovered the world of dentistry, and she hasnt looked back since. She attended USC for dental school before completing a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY.It wasnt long, however, before Dr. Kim was back on the sunny West Coast of Southern California practicing dentistry. Her love of art has never diminished, and she encourages any patient who paints or creates art to share their works, which often end up hanging on the office walls. She loves attending live performances of all kinds, and continues to dance when she can. An avid adventurer, she enjoys filling her passport with stamps and having new culinary experiences. When shes not traveling or in the office, you can find her at the beach, or spending time with her loved ones.
At Urban Dental, we strive to provide conservative, compassionate dentistry to all of our San Diego patients. My experience with the hygienist was excellent. My experience with the dentist not so much. Dr. Kim knocked her metal tools energetically against several of my teeth, so much so that I felt concerned about her breaking some of them. She stopped only when I complained.

Dr. Kim is great the best dentist I've ever gone to see .She spent her time on a problem tooth that other dentist were willing to give up on or tried to pull. She gives her best and it's a gift to anyone who is her patient . She not only knew my tooth could be saved but she spent hours making it better than my original. Go see her .

If you are looking for a dentist it's so easy to say Dr. Kim and Staff are the best, but listen to this as it reflects the depth of their caring for their patients! With COVID, after one year of being closed, the company that provides our medical and dental coverage was finally dropping insurance coverage after a year of them keeping our coverage even while being shut down (it was really wonderful that they carried us for the year). Our daughter needed some pretty extensive work done but now we had a deadline for when coverage would stop. Our family has been with Urban Dental for many years and when I got a call from Dr. Kim herself telling me that we were family to her and that she would combine our daugter's treatments to meet the deadline for the end of our insurance coverage. And they did!! Our daughter even went 3-straight days with Dr. Kim and Staff to finish before the deadline. They did this compounding their work load. So if you're looking for a family dentist then consider becoming part of Dr. Kim's family! Thank you Dr. Kim!! Sincerely, Neal

Leaving urban dental overview of five stars because of their outstanding customer experience and squeezing me in this morning without an appointment at 7 AM. Last night I chipped my tooth pretty bad in front and it looks ridiculous. I had meetings back to back all day so it was pretty important to be fixed. This was best dental office I've ever been too! The staff was always friendly and Dr. Kim is an amazing dentist. She explained everything well so I understood what was going on and she spent as much time as needed to answer my questions. They're equipment is so cutting edge that they made my crown at the office in less than an hr. I've had numerous dental procedures by previous dentists and this is the first time that I have had zero complications after getting home. Dr. Kim delivers top quality work. The office is also so modern and relaxing. When I got there they offered me bottled water and told me to wait in the relaxation room with the massage chairs! Then when I got to the chair they had 2 TVs in the room, one in front of me, and one on the ceiling! I got to watch ESPN while getting my crown done. Look no further for an amazing office and a dentist that you can trust. I will only come to this office from now on.

I would like to say that Dr. Kim and her staff are more than my 5 star rating! It was obvious they cared for your well being. I had a 3 hour appointment and surprisingly it went very fast. Best ever experience at a dentist office. Everyone was great! I have found my new dentist! Thank you Dr. Kim you are a treasure!!

Comfortable, efficient, professional and caring dental office in downtown. Dr Kim has a gentle touch and her whole team makes sure you are well taken care of. The hygienists are great and the office team is helpful.
