Dr. Brian returned to his hometown of Greenville to practice dentistry in 2008. After practicing locally for several years, he had a vision for a new space that would allow his team to meet the needs of patients even better. In 2015 he custom designed and opened a new office for Upstate Pediatric Dentistry in Verdae, complete with floor-to-ceiling murals with a Greenville theme and a wide-open bay where kids can have fun and feel relaxed.
Since he was a college student at Winthrop University, Dr. Brian has known that he has wanted to practice childrens dentistry. At Winthrop, Dr. Brian received his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina, he received the Pre-doctoral Student Award for Outstanding Promise in the Field of Pediatric Dentistry and served on the Board of Trustees for the American Student Dental Association as the elected representative for five southeastern dental schools. Later he returned to MUSC for a two-year specialization program in pediatric dentistry, during which Dr. Brian received advanced training in providing comprehensive dental care for infants, children, teenagers, and children with special needs. His residency training also included growth and development, conscious sedation, and hospital dentistry.
Dr. Brian is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), SSPD (Southeast Society of Pediatric Dentistry), SCDA (South Carolina Dental Association), SCSPD (South Carolina Society of Pediatric Dentistry) and the Greenville County Dental Society. He has served as a volunteer Adjunct Faculty Member at MUSC teaching fourth-year dental students the best techniques for treating pediatric patients. Dr. Brian has also enjoyed providing dental care in impoverished communities on trips to Haiti, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Brian lives in Greenville with his wife, three daughters, and sonall born within four years. He enjoys being outdoors, trying new restaurants, and (closely) following Clemson football. Hes still trying to teach any one of his four children to throw a ball or ride a bike.
Dr. Neena grew up in Georgia and stayed there for college at UGA and for dental school at the Dental College of Georgia. After graduating from dental school she moved to Chicago to complete her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. After residency, Dr. Neena enjoyed living and working in Chicago.
Coming from a large family with ten younger siblings, Dr. Neena knew early on that she was meant to work with children. She loves how pediatric dentistry allows her to get to know her patients and their families by seeing them regularly over the years. She enjoys working with children from different backgrounds and learning about the things that make them feel comfortable in what can be an otherwise scary environment.
In 2019, eight years after moving to Chicago, she and her husband decided it was time to move back south to raise their daughter, enjoy the warm weather, and to finally give their dog the yard he always wanted. Shes excited to be close to family again and to explore Greenville, her new home!
A Greenville native, Dr. Michael grew up in the Gower neighborhood. After graduation from J.L. Mann High school, he headed to University of South Carolina where he received his B.S. in Biology. Following college Dr. Michael attended Medical University of South Carolina, where he was inducted into the Omega Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society for success in the classroom and the dental clinic.
Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Michael was motivated to continue his dental training to work exclusively with children and teenagers, a love that sprung from his years coaching Gower swim team. He attended a two-year specialization program at Augusta University where he received extensive training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry including treatment of infants, children, teenagers and children with special needs in the office and in a hospital setting. His favorite aspect of pediatric dentistry is treating patients from all different backgrounds and showing them how fun the dental office can be. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Michael is excited to be back in his hometown, where he lives two streets over from his childhood home. Dr. Michael and his wife, Alex, are looking forward to making new memories together in Greenville. Outside of the office Dr. Michael loves to play golf, run and (closely) follow South Carolina football. (Dr. Brian forgives him for this.) He looks forward to meeting you and your children!

LOVE this office. The professionalism is top tier. My kids have been coming here since their first set of teeth at the old location. They absolutely love the artwork in the office and the friendly staff. No cavities EVER. You guys are the best!!

We have always had a wonderful experience here with Dr. Brian! My son has Autism, and the staff and dentist have always been gracious and kind, and they've always put my son at ease. We would never go anywhere else! Thank you!

Kaitlyn and Dr. Michael were amazing. They made my daughters first dental visit smooth and easy. Kaitlyn made her feel extremely comfortable and she's wonderful with children. The ladies at the front desk were also very welcoming and polite! 10/10 experience.

Can't recommended Upstate Pediatric Denistry enough. This was my son first visit to the dentist. Melanie and Dr. Nena were awesome they were really good with him. This will be my son's dental office until he grows up.

The office was clean and very kid friendly. Everyone we encountered was professional and kind. The hygienist was excellent and Dr. Michael was on time and efficient. We were in and out in great time. Couldn't be happier with the experience.

I am beyond pleased with the compassionate care, precise communication, and attention to detail from the entire office staff and dentist. From the greeters to the clinical staff, everyone is always kind and has smiling faces. They all care about the patients, listen to parental needs, as well as remain timely in their appointment sessions. I couldn't be happier to have my son at Upstate Pediatric Dentistry!

My daughter's first dental appointment and we were able to get an appointment within a few days of calling, SCORE! Our dentist and her assistant were INCREDIBLE! Very personable and overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience especially since it was her first. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist!

I miss an Appointment with this Doctor, and they told me to find another Doctor to treat my Child. I believed their office policy is so ridiculous. Can some one here suggest me another Dentistry Doctor? I know is my Fault for not remembering the appointment date, but I moved to different house and change my telephone Number, so if they contacted me I Miss the message!
