Took a month to be seen. Then when I got there the terrible front desk girls told me I didn't have a reference to be seen!? What a waste of time!!

DO NOT MAKE APPT! BEWARE! This was the worst experience ever! I had to wait a month to be seen and my appt was for yesterday at 12:45. It is very difficult to locate and took over 20 mins to find once in the hospital. To make it worse they were impossible to reach by phone for help with directions. It's like an endless maze. But after the 1 hr ride there, dealing with terrible parking garages with construction, getting lost I made it there at 12:46. Miraculously. ONE MINUTE LATE! ONE! The woman at the desk proceeds to tell me that I should have come 15 mins earlier to do a bunch of paperwork but I was never told to come extra early. I pleaded with her to please help me get seen and she refused! I suffered with a swollen abscess for a mth waiting for the appt, took off work, made the hr drive, dealt with the parking and navigating my way to be there on time and being told I had to reschedule because I was literally ONE MINUTE LATE was like a punch in the face. I will never reschedule with them and i will never ever refer anyone to them. If the dentist is as good as the woman at the front desk then maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

I'm not really sure why this place has so many negative reviews. I've never had issues getting a call back and scheduling appointments. I just had my second appointment there today and got my next appointment scheduled for next month (and they had other times available that day). I hadn't been to the dentist in 6 years when I started going here. I was both nervous and embarrassed about how bad I thought my teeth might be. Lisa, my dental hygienist, was fantastic. She's super friendly and made me feel comfortable and more confident that I could get my teeth back in ideal condition (without doing a crazy amount of dental work). Dr. Sabatelle is also highly recommended. He surgically removed a really bad broken tooth. While I can't say that it was a enjoyable experience, he and his assistant made me feel comfortable the whole time and I didn't feel any pain throughout the procedure. I will definitely keep coming back and would certainly recommend this dental office to friends and family.

besides the oral surgeon this place is AWFUL. If I could give less than one star I would. The front desk folks were the WORST. I received a bill for something that should have been covered under my insurance. The letter I just received denied my complaint because the office says they told me my service would not be covered BEFORE they performed the service, which is a blatant lie. I didn't find out that my insurance wouldn't cover it until I showed up to my next appt where they told me of I didn't pay the balance down I would not be seen at my appt. I also signed a paper when I paid down the balance BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT SEE ME OTHERWISE. Awful employees, bad attitudes, not transparent at all.

If I could give zero stars i would. Got referred here after being in mercys emergency room on the 5th for an absess. In the process of trying to get ahold of the clinic I had another absess come up on the other side. Went to my "appointment" and sat there for almost 3 hours till I finally got told they don't actually schedule appointments for referrals from the hospital. That I just have to wait and see if someone cancels and if they don't then I have to come back another day. I didnt yell I didnt say anything and started crying because im in so much pain only to be told I was making a scene and needed to leave. Please dont go here if you have a serious issue!

You can't get an appointment, let alone a call back. If you do find yourself lucky enough to finally get to speak to someone, you'll find appointment dates are 12+ weeks away, even for dental emergencies. Once you do finally get in for an appointment, the experience is that of a chop shop. Your wait time, once you get there, is significant, the care you receive is practically third world - matter of fact I once was told "You need to see a dentist." by the dentist who was doing work on me there. "Well, yeah, that's why I'm here." If you experience any problems or significant pain with the work that's been done - extractions, root canals, etc, don't expect pain medication. UPMC, please do something about this place.

Just got medicaid and this is pretty much one of the only places that accepts it in my area. They're accepting new patients, but a 3 month wait for appointment, no matter what, even in an emergency. I asked them what I should do and they told me to go to dental school emergency room. I'm no stranger to the long wait times for specialists, as I have chronic illnesses. But for a dentist, seriously, 3 months!?! It's absurd!!!!!
