When I called was broken molar; I was told I didn't qualify for dental services. This was because I had Medicaid insurance. I was told they only help people with no insurance! When I called UNM Patient advocacy; they checked it out & said I did qualify! Yet I was told by clinic that I would be committing fraud if I made an application there! I'm 73yrs,disabled & under the poverty level, but I lost that molar; while anyone just coming into our country can get what they need for $15. We'll what about the citizens who paid our taxes ? We paid in & are prevented from getting what we need now. This is ludicrous and I noticed Patient advocacy didn't offer to make them give me an appointment. Sigh.

Just awful. I've set multiple appointments to have a routine oral procedure done, only for the clinic to unexpectedly cancel or resechedule me at the last minute. Disorganized, chaotic, unprofessional. They will tell you one thing and do another. Avoid doing business with this dental clinic at all costs.

I love the novick cleaning school. I was recommended to come to this facility for follow ups. I enjoyed my time there until I had very awkward interactions with my dentist that was fresh out of school. Shaughn McCormick. I felt the conversations and flirting were unprofessional, and I wasn't interested. My cousin Lucinda worked in the same facility so I asked her to let him know I wasn't interested in him. Even if I was mistaken the flirtatious conversations. The next handful of apps I had, he made sure to treat me with disrespect and made sure I was feeling pain. A complete 360 to what I was receiving before even after mentioning that we still could be friends. Gave me PTSD. He never apologized and I dont know how many other women are going to be or already victims. He is in his 30s white man with an attractive face. Beware.

I'm writing this review after my third appointment here. I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about the dental residents and hygienists that practice at this clinic! They are professional and will do their best to help you find solutions (if challenges arise) in order to best optimize your oral health. The office staff on the other hand (keeping in mind that they are the public face of the clinic) - well, they make me want to never came back. The positive of this clinic is also a negative, in that it's saturated with residents (highly educated clinicians who are there to get more specialized training), and not enough hygienists. According to the resident that was assigned to me today, there's 9 residents and only 2 hygienists. But yet, each resident is assigned a dental assistant to help them out throughout the day. Can someone please explain to me why I have to come back in March to get my teeth cleaned by the hygienist?

The students were very friendly, but my quote w/ insurance here was EXTREMELY high. I went somewhere else for a second opinion and they said all my work would be covered under Medicaid and they couldn't understand what UNM was wanting to bill me for. For being a dental school setting, the prices are higher than a private practice.

Do not recommend! Dentist never said I needed a deep cleaning. I'm now in a lot of pain with serious gum disease!!! Went back to my regular private dentist. Avoid Dr. Asli Kiran.

Terrible administrative skills, I scheduled an appointment weeks in advance and was told I would get a call to confirm they accepted my insurance the day before. I had to call four times to get an answer, they finally told me they do not accept my insurance at 4:45 the day before my appointment. A waste of time, would not recommend to anyone.
