Our dentist and team truly enjoy helping our patients achieve the level of dental health that they desire. It shows each and every time you visit. We make every endeavor to stay current with the latest dental technology. The secret is to use our knowledge and technology to better the lives and smiles of our patients. We pride ourselves on thorough explanations and education before we do any treatment, and we offer Caesy and the Smile Channel to aid in visual explanations. Our number one concern, though, is your comfort. To make your visits relaxing and pleasant, we offer a large iPod music selection, cable television and DVD movies. We also offer relaxing medications. We believe that we can make a difference, and we do so every day!
Dr. Jeffrey Turner has been practicing dentistry since 1990. After graduating from the IU School of Dentistry, he joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Boling Air Force Base, which is where he met his wife, Wendy. They married in 1992. After serving, he moved back to Indiana and practiced in Portage, but after a few years, wanted to return to his roots in South Bend, IN. They have two adult children, Kyle and Matthew. Dr. Turners parents were teachers, therefore he believes educating each patient on why their dental health is important. Id like to prevent you from having pain is one of his mottos. He cares about each and every patient as if they were a member of his family. He enjoys telling a few Dad Jokes, but outside the office he enjoys spending time with his family and several dogs, swimming, biking, and water sports.
Stephanie is our Office Manager. She has been a dedicated team member since May 2001! She spent most of her childhood in Eastern North Carolina, a child of an active duty Marine. She went to college at Daytona State College and George Mason University. She is married and has 2 beautiful daughters. She is an active member of AADOM (American Association of Dental Office Management) and a previous President of our local Michiana Chapter. She has established the Michiana Study Club for Office Administration and Management. She prides herself on education, educating her team and her patients not only in dental care but how to make if affordable with or without insurance. She loves spending time with her family and friends, relaxing in the sun and on the water, watching her daughter play volleyball and simply enjoying life!
Kristine is a Dental Hygienist. She joined our team in March of 2007 and has been one of our most loved hygienists. She is superb at teaching her patients about their dental health and developing long lasting relationships. She went to IU for Dental Hygiene, in addition she has her license in local anesthesia. She is a wife and mother of 4 very active kids. Aside from dental hygiene, her passion includes working out and photography.
Ashley has been part of our Dental team and family since November 2009. She received her Dental Hygiene Associates in 2006, Bachelor in General Studies in 2007 and Local anesthesia license in 2014. She grew up in South Bend and lives nearby with her husband, Josh, and her two children, Addilyn and Levi. She loves to go to the beach, travel, and make memories with her family. Her passion is Dental Hygiene and helping others with their dental needs and goals.
Rachel is a Dental Hygienist. She joined our team February 2018. She went to IUSB for her Bachelors in Dental Hygiene and local anesthesia license. Recently married to her husband, Dmitri, they are very active with their 2 dogs, Denver and Dexter. She enjoys traveling and her bucket list includes visiting all of our national parks.
Nikki is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. She has been a faithful team member since March 2014. She completed her Dental Assisting Certificate at Ross Medical Education. She grew up in South Bend and attended South Bend Community Schools. She enjoys spending time with her 5 kids, gardening, cooking, home improvement and going to the beach. Nikki wins our Jack of all Trades Award, she is our most versatile team member. She is extremely educated and well versed in field as a dental assistant, but can also assist with scheduling, insurance and be available to help anywhere she is needed.
Tamera is a great addition to our dental family. She is the first face you will see in our practice and is our New Patient Coordinator. Previously she was with our office for 9 years and returned to our team July 2018. She has a Bachelors in Business from IU. She has been with her spouse for over 20 years and they have 2 beautiful kids. She grew up in South Bend and worked in the dental field since 2002. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending her kids sporting events. We call her our Relationship Manager, her specialty is forming meaningful relationships and making patients feel comfortable when they walk in the door for their first visit and every visit thereafter.

Dr Turner referred my son to Harrington Orthodontics. Harrington then sent a referral back to UP Family dentistry for some extractions. Today was my 4th call to the office to try to get that scheduled. They kept telling me they would take care of it and call me back, but no one ever called me back. By the time I called today, I was getting frustrated by the whole process. Then the person on the phone (Tamara) was very rude to me. She just kept blaming Harrington and telling me over and over how it wasn't their fault. She just glossed over the lack of return phone calls. During her 3rd time repeating how it wasn't their fault, I interrupted her because I wanted to move on and get my son's appointment scheduled. She then said I was being rude. So I waited patiently for her to repeat the story about how nothing is their fault for a 4th time. Then I said she could cancel my son's next cleaning appointment and my appointment as well. I called Harrington back and got a referral to a better dentist office. It's too bad because I really liked Dr Turner. It's sad that his office staff causes him to lose business.

I have to say, this is the best dentist I have ever been to. I mean from the time I walked in everyone was friendly. My sister referred me and I had called to make an appointment about getting a bridge put in but they couldn't get me in until May 12th. I started experiencing some pain on my back lower tooth to wear I was in tears. I called them and asked if they could get me in ASAP because of the pain and they got me in right away. Dr Turner told me to come back in 2 days because my jaw was swollen. When I mean he took that tooth out within 2 minutes and I did not have any pain after that. Dr Turner and his staff are the TRUTH. Thank you Dr Turner and thank you to his staff

By far the best dentist. I have had a lot of problems with my teeth and have been to several dentist but none of them can top Dr. Turner and his staff. They are the best. My teeth look better then they have in 20 years. I highly recommend them.

I was looking for a good dentist for my family, I wanted something where we will feel comfortable when going. I definitely found a great dentist,all staff is very nice. Both of my sons and myself go here and we feel really comfortable with the staff. Tamera and Stephine is really nice right along with the other staff.Thanks University Park Family Denistry

First of all Tamara is a very unfriendly receptionist. She is unkind and uncaring. Dr. Turner is very money hungry. All he wants to do is replace everything in your mouth that has been done by another dentist. I had a crown put in one year prior to seeing him. He tried to tell me I needed a new crown. After all was said and done, It was a sinus issue near that tooth not the tooth itself!!!! Then to top things off he tried to tell me I needed a crown on my front tooth that was broke over 35 years ago. My last dentist I saw before Dr Turner did a resin patch on it that lasted 20 years!!!! Dr Turner's lasted 2! Tamara blamed me for not taking care of my tooth. I have always and will alway baby that tooth. She blamed it on not being in regularly. I explained that their covid protocol is very lacking. Again Tamara did nothing to apologize or even offer to ask Dr. Turner what could be done about the situation. She told me that I needed to put a crown on it like discussed. Tamara is NOT a dental assistant. She is a rude receptionist that has no business telling a patient that. Of course maybe she has to be that way to ward off all of the dissatisfied patients of Dr. Turner's.

They are doing well to keep you safe and healthy by keeping social distance and wearing masks, also you don't need to stay at waiting room because they will send you a message to let you in when you arrive and wait in your car.

During my checkup everything was explained to me as we went along. Both the hygienist and the dentist were thorough and very efficient! I am always so impressed with how little pain there is in everything going on throughout the appointment.

Been going to UPFD for 15 years for the whole family. There's no better Dentist in Michiana. The front office staff is wonderful, the hygienists are the best and wonderful with kids.
