We accept most traditional insurance plans, contact our office to verify acceptance of your plan. University Park Family Dental does not participate in Health Management Organizations (HMO) and certain Medicaid/ Medicare; however, we will be happy to file your insurance claims for you. We accept checks, cash or credit cards. We also offer flexible payment plans. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own dentist.
All our professionals at University Park Family Dental maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry. Avery Lopez, DDS Dr. Lopez is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry with a strong emphasis on getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Lopez is a careful listener and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs.
After earning his bachelor's degree from Fort Lewis College in Durango in 2001, Dr. Lopez received his doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in 2005. He has since taken many continuing education courses, including those of Invisalign invisible braces, sedation dentistry, and dental implants. Dr. Lopez is a member of the Metro Denver Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Colorado Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantology, American Academy of Dental Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, Colorado Prosthodontic Society and the Denver Implant Study Club.

This is my fourth year under the care of the wonderful folks at University Park Family Dental. Simply put their staff is hands down the best I've ever had. I neglected my oral care and hygiene for years because I couldn't afford proper dental care and not once was I ever made to feel shame. Everyone there is incredibly patient with me (and my atrocious gag reflex) and supportive. If you have any reservations about going to the dentist, I assure you that University Park Family Dental will dispel them. Choosing them as my oral care provider has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I went years without going to the dentist after a bad experience. Dr. Lopez is a very skilled dentist that pays attention to detail. The office staff could not have made getting back into the dentist more welcoming and helpful! I'm greatful to have found such a great dental office to fix my smile

I love Dr. Lopez and all of his staff. The team always excels in every aspect of dentistry and so easy to schedule appointments. Friendly, trustworthy and professional, this is the best dentist that I have ever been to. Even though I don't live in the Denver area anymore, I still travel 3 hours each way to continue coming to University Park Family Dental. I highly recommend this dentist!!

I have been coming here for 6 years at the recommendation of a friend, and they have always exceeded my expectations of care! The administrative staff is amazing, the hygeneists are thorough and friendly and Dr Lopez is awesome. He has done an impeccable root canal, crowns, and now my Invisalign. I can't recommend them enough!

I initially went in and was given a diagnosis to have several fillings done (they let me know my insurance would cover it). On the day of the appointment, at the front desk they let me know that my insurance was *not* accepted and I was on the hook for 1,500+ dollars. I let them know that I couldn't afford it and they said they would waive the no show/late cancellation fee to make up for their mistake. They didn't end up waiving it until I called and corrected the miscommunication. I still had to pay an outstanding amount that they assured me would be covered by my insurance. I really liked the doctor, but was very disappointed in the bait and switch billing tactic and lack of communication between reception and the billing department.

This is by far the best dental office I have ever been to. Dr. Lopez and his team are absolutely wonderful in every way. I am so saddened to have changed insurance to one not accepted at this office, because there is no way I will be able to find a better dentist.

More than a few cuts above the rest! Yes this was a great experience. True dentistry. The regular clean, deep clean and extraction were flawless. I could list a page of good things I noticed and experienced here. Suffice to say "I highly recommend!"

Dr. Lopez and his team are the best! I drive 1.5 hours one direction for his services because he is always fair with prices, has never hurt my mouth during any procedure, and is always professional. His office is very clean/nice atmosphere. I will always recommend him to everyone I know

Made a new patient appointment to see the dentist. Showed up for the appointment and found out the dentist wasn't working that day. Doesn't make sense to only see the dental hygienist at your first appointment with a new dentist. Very disappointed and I will not be returning.

My husband had a root canal here and it took five and a half hours because there was only one dentist working and he kept leaving my husband to work on other patients. By the end of the procedure, my husband wasn't numb anymore and felt everything. Worst customer service/ respect for my husband's time.

Having had terrible experiences with dentists in the past gained a huge phobia. Dr. Lopez and his entire staff have been nothing less than amazing in helping me overcome my phobia. From the minute l called to the last visit I had, I have been treated with compassion and understanding and kindness. My teeth were in terrible shape after years of neglect due to my phobia so I felt ashamed and embarrassed. Dr. Lopez and his staff are so kind and helpful I cannot say enough good things about them. Thank you SO much for everything you do, you are superheroes!
