Dr. Danze is living his childhood dream as an orthodontist. He truly loves creating beautiful, healthy smiles and serving his community! His greatest passion is helping his patients achieve their full smile potential. For him, there is no greater feeling then seeing the look of joy on each of his patients faces as they complete their smile journey. Dr. D also takes great pride in keeping up with the latest and greatest technology and continuing education in the field of orthodontics.
Dr. D is a Charlotte native and is thrilled to return to his hometown for the long haul. Dr. D completed his undergraduate education at Florida State University where he graduated with honors. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he formed his love for the Tar Heels and met his now fianc, Kaitlin, who just completed a residency in pediatric dentistry (a dental match made in heaven!) He continued his training at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he completed a three-year residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. He also received a Masters degree for his thesis on the relationship of childhood obesity to craniofacial growth, which he later went on to publish in the European Journal of Orthodontics.
Dr. D practiced orthodontics in Columbus, OH for two years while his fianc completed her residency. Throughout those two years, he gained experience treating both pediatric and adult patients. He has developed expertise in surgical and non-surgical orthodontics and has experience with traditional metal braces, clear braces and Invisalign clear aligner therapy. He is a board-certified orthodontist for the American Board of Orthodontics, the highest regarded professional organization in the field of orthodontics. Dr. D is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, North Carolina Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Society.
We heart our community. Thats why youll see us out and about at different events, fundraisers, schools, you name it! Were here BECAUSE of the communitys support so you can bet your bottom dollar were going to pay it forward.
I love how friendly, professional and patient the staff was. Ive never had braces before and I wanted Gold Braces and this was the only place here in Charlotte to do them. The Dentist explained the process and checked in on me to make sure I was ok as he prepped my teeth for my brackets. I highly recommend them!

I was heartbroken today when MY go-to dental assistant told me she was leaving. She has always tended to me since my second visit. I will miss her jokes and very awesome personality! She is also very knowledgeable in this field. (Insert name here), if you're reading this, thank you for the laughs and making me feel at home. You made these visits pleasurable! I never thought I would actually enjoy the process of having braces, but I love coming here and she was one of the reasons why. Best wishes to you and yours wherever life takes you. I do love this place! I remember what convinced me to come to this practice was the website; it was so different (in a good way) from what one's used to. Dr. James is a professional and takes his time to explain things. They answer all your questions. Everyone here is super, super nice! I really am enjoying the whole process. If you're considering getting braces, come here! No regrets and I will recommend them to all. Update: It's been a few months since my review. Since then I realized not only did my dental assistant girl leave, but the doctor and just about the entire staff that was there when I first started going. Everyone is new. They're friendly, but as I said, they're new (all except for maybe one that I recognize). My appointments now either take long or hurt or both. I've gotten over the honeymoon phase because of this, and I no longer look forward to my visits, BUT they are nice people.. My rating went down from a 5 to a 3 1/2 -4. I wish that weren't the case because I really did love coming here. Update: (last update) I was here about a week ago. The place seemed much calmer. I knew this time my appointment was with a "seasoned" assistant! I was grateful. There was no pinching, struggles, or an unusually long visit. I have requested to see her every time. :) Thank you, Katie. Update: September 2022 Firstly, I apologize for not putting dates on my updates. In the beginning (2021), this place set the expectations bar high. It was my first time getting braces, but I was loving coming here. I can't stand it now! Every month I go, there new staff. They have always been pleasant and nice to me, ALL of them, but many or all of the new people don't know what they're doing. It's obvious this place is just trying to stay "alive", but barely making it. I will likely see if I can transfer somewhere else to finish my treatment. Hurts me to say.

I was never going to do a public review but I have time today!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! I used to enjoy my visits and look forward to my appointments but ever since the original staff left like Casey, Katie, Dr James, etc this place has gone down hill. There's new staff every time I visit and they have bad attitudes for the most part. They've gotten so inconsistent with terrible service. The new Dr (which I doubt is there anymore) Danze was his name, had no compassion for me as a patient. Whoever is running admin, needs some training because they're so inaccurate. I can't tell how many times they call me talking about payments didn't go through then say it was an error with zero empathy. They had to submit my insurance claim twice already and they keep putting incorrect information so the claims are denied. I got a call today for the 3rd time with the same issue after Jacqueline had dealt with it. The girl had an attitude on the phone saying she don't have to speak with my insurance rep and was very dismissive! Yet I told her I would call them since she called me stating my policy is inactive. Idk where they're even getting their info from caz she had asked abt a job my partner had decades ago. The whole place is just a hot mess now. If you want your money's worth, go to sacksteder orthodontist to Dr. James. I will be going there to get Invisalign treatment because I'm not even satisfied with my smile and that Dr Danze was not approachable and he claimed "this was the best he could do". I have my last appt next week, i just want to be done with this place so I can move on. If you value quality service and consistency, DO NOT go here.

Avoid this place at all cost. It was fine until few years back when I started my Invisalign treatment but, now there is no orthodontist and this place is a mess. Please don't come here if you are a new patient. These people don't answer your calls and won't schedule any appointments for you as, there is no orthodontist working here. My teeth are all misaligned as I am still waiting for my appointment to be scheduled and there seems to noway they will do it.

This office is trash. I'm perplexed as to how they have 4.9 stars. They are never open and if they are open they never answer or return your phone call. All you get from them is a text saying to text them like Huh??!! I will be cancelling my treatment plan and trying to get in with another orthodontist because this unprofessional and a waste of money. I highly recommend choosing a different office.

Went in to get my permanent retainer fixed . Waited almost an hour to be seen. Was told previous day if I have to get the top retainer replaced it would be $250, they only temporarily fixed it and was told to come back in 8 weeks to get a new. I set that appointment. As I walk out the door they come running after me because I didn't pay, as I said before they told me it would be $250 to have the top replaced . They did not replace only temporarily fixed. Was told it would be $200 for this fix. They don't tell you about office visits prices as they should . As I thought I was going into get a the replacement not a temporary fix. Now I'll have to spend an additional $200 when they replace the retainer in 8 weeks which makes zero sense. High dissatisfied.

I absolutely hate this place I DO NOT RECOMMEND there is an entirely new staff with new attitudes. They are misleading as well as rushed and rude. I hated going there once the recent staff left but you could tell why they left I wouldn't want to work there either! The entire staff of course will be nice in the beginning but after you're done giving them your money make sure to pay attention to how the atmosphere changes. If I could give them a negative 0 I definitely would.
