I am overjoyed to join the team at University General Dentistry! As the daughter of a dentist and dental hygienist, I have had the unique opportunity to be part of dentistry my entire life. I understand that many people are fearful of the dentist and may have even had a previous bad experience. I strive to alleviate those fears by getting to know each patient in a relaxing and fun environment while providing the excellent care my patients deserve.
For my undergraduate education, I attended Maryville College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. Upon completion of my senior thesis at Maryville College, my research was published in the Journal of Adhesive Dentistry. I then attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating with honors. Following graduation, I completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Before joining University General Dentistry in 2017, I practiced as an associate dentist for eight years in a group practice in Columbia, SC.
My husband, Paul, and I were thrilled to join the Tuscaloosa community in 2017 when he became an assistant professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Alabama. In my spare time, I enjoy running, traveling, chasing our miniature dachshund, Jackson, and spending time with international college students in our church and with the Tuscaloosa International Friends program.
