Dr. Maurice Haynes is originally from Kingston, Jamaica. He came to the United States in August of 1987 to attend Dental School at Howard University in Washington, DC. He graduated from Howard in May of 1991 and completed his General Practice Residency from D.C. General Hospital in May of 1992. He immediately entered into private practice and has now been practicing dentistry for over 23 years.
In 2000, Dr. Haynes and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Haynes, created University Centre Dental Associates, P.C. They were originally in College Park, MD. In the years since its inception, Dr. Haynes saw the practice grow, and in July of 2006 the practice moved to Greenbelt, MD, where they could provide a larger treatment facility with advanced technology and equipment for patient care.
Dr. Maurice Haynes is committed to continuing education to keep up with the ever-changing dental technologies and advancements. He has completed over 180 hours of seminars and workshops. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association. Dr. Haynes is dedicated to providing his patients with the very highest quality of dental care, in a caring and friendly environment.
Dr. Elizabeth Haynes is an orthodontist and co-founder of University Centre Dental Associates in Greenbelt, Maryland. She graduated from Howard Universitys Orthodontic Residency Program at the top of her class in 1993 and immediately entered into private practice. In 1996, she joined the faculty of Howard Universitys College of Dentistry and became the Orthodontic Clinic Director. Also during that time she and her husband, Dr. Maurice Haynes, created University Centre Dental Associates, and she maintained the practice on a part-time basis. She left teaching in July 2006 to focus on her practice full time.
Dr. Haynes is dedicated to helping her patients attain the smiles theyve always wanted, in a caring, clean, and friendly environment. When not working with her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Maurice Haynes, and their children.
Ariana is our wonderful sterilization technician. Ariana joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in June of 2009. She is originally from Prince Georges County, Maryland. She assists us in keeping our treatment areas clean and in compliance with sterilization guidelines for the comfort and safety of our patients.
Claudia is our practices Chief Orthodontic Assistant. She is originally from Mexico City, Mexico. She has been with the University Centre Dental Associates family since May of 2006. She can converse with our patients in both English and Spanish. Prior to becoming an Orthodontic Assistant, she was a licensed Dentist in Mexico. Claudia has over 18 years of experience in the Dental Field.
Claudia has completed advanced training in Expanded Functions for Dental Assisting and Orthodontic Assisting. She is dedicated to helping our orthodontic patients attain a healthy and beautiful smile. She is instrumental in showing patients how to clean and take care of their appliances, and she manages the orthodontic records for the practice.
DeSean is our practices Chief Dental Assistant. He is originally from Prince Georges County, Maryland. DeSean joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in May of 2010. He has over seven years of experience in the Dental Field.
DeSean has completed advanced training in Expanded Functions for Dental Assisting. He has taken numerous workshops and seminars in CEREC technology, periodontal charting and advanced dental assisting techniques.
When not working with his patients, DeSean enjoys spending time listening to music and reading. He is a huge sports fan who eats, sleeps, and drinks anything to do with the Washington Redskins and all the other home teams in the area.
India is our practices Dental Hygienist. She is originally from Lansing, Michigan. Prior to becoming a Dental Hygienist, she was a Certified Orthodontic Assistant, and she worked with Dr. Elizabeth Haynes for six years in that capacity. India has over 21 years of experience in the dental profession.
India graduated from Howard Universitys Dental Hygiene Program in 2004 and immediately entered into private practice. In August of 2004, she joined University Centre Dental Associates part time, and in 2012, she joined us full time.
India actively participates in continuing education because she is dedicated to maintaining the highest standard of oral hygiene care and is interested in learning the latest techniques and technologies to deliver that care. She is also the practices HIPPA officer.
India is dedicated to helping her patients attain and maintain the healthiest smile possible. When not working with her patients, India enjoys white water rafting, camping, and spending time with her son Sean.
Jamaira is our General Dentistry Patient Coordinator and Personnel Manager. She joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in April of 2011. She is originally from Honduras. She can converse with our patients in both English and Spanish. Jamaira has over 11 years of experience in the Dental Field. She has completed seminars in dental scheduling and billing techniques, and she is certified in insurance billing.
Jamairas aim is to help our patients attain the beautiful and healthy smile they have always wanted, by assisting them with their insurance or payment-plan needs. She works with Dr. Maurice Haynes on the general dentistry side of our practice.
Jodi-Ann is one of four of our qualified Orthodontic Assistants. Jodi-Ann joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in February of 2008. She is originally from the beautiful island of Jamaica. She has over 12 years of experience in the Dental Field.
She has completed advanced training in Expanded Functions for Dental Assisting and Orthodontic Assisting. She has taken many seminars and technique workshops in advanced orthodontic assisting techniques to keep her skills up-to-date.
Jodi-Ann cares about all of her patients and is dedicated to helping them get the smile theyve always wanted in a friendly and fun way. She works with Dr. Elizabeth Haynes on the orthodontics side of our practice.
Norma is one of four of our qualified Orthodontic Assistants. She joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in July of 2011. She is originally from El Salvador. She can converse with our patients in both English and Spanish, and she has over 15 years of experience in the Dental Field.
Norma has completed advanced training in Expanded Functions for Dental Assisting and Orthodontic Assisting. She attends seminars in advanced orthodontic assisting techniques yearly at the national Orthodontic Association meetings.
Tammy is one of four of our qualified Orthodontic Assistants. Tammy joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in May of 2006. She is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She has over 15 years of experience in the Dental Field.
Tammy is dedicated to helping our patients attain a healthy and beautiful smile, in a relaxed and friendly manner. She is also in charge of ordering and is our OSHA officer. She works with Dr. Elizabeth Haynes on the orthodontics side of our practice.
Yesley is our Orthodontic Patient Coordinator. She joined the University Centre Dental Associates family in January of 2011. She is originally from San Miguel, El Salvador. She can converse with our patients in both English and Spanish. Yesley has over 5 years of experience in the Dental/Medical Billing Field.
Yesley is dedicated to helping our patients attain a healthy and beautiful smile by assisting them with their insurance or payment-plan needs. She works with Dr. Elizabeth Haynes on the orthodontics side of our practice.

I got my braces off a few weeks ago, and I am very pleased with the results. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially when it came to scheduling appointments. Dr. Haynes was very thorough and made a point of ensuring that my teeth looked amazing. I highly recommend coming to University Centre Dental.

My family and I had a pleasant experience with Dr. Haynes and her amazing staff. My mom, cousin, sister and I came here throughout the years and are very satisfied with our results. The front desk staff made it super easy to book appointments and were understanding. Jody was the sweetest. I couldn't be more thankful and pleased with the results and the staff. The Doctor and the medical assistants were great to me but the receptionist always had an attitude towards me, she always gave me a bad service I don't know if it was because I am Hispanic

My family has been patients of the office for over a decade. Friendly staff and professional Ortho care. The front desk people are so rude and could careless about you! I have never in my life seen people that want your business and money and treat you as if your nothing! I'm very hurt and upset. I have to work in order for me to pay for my braces! Things come up since I'm a nurse. Since I been going there for 2 yrs maybe 4 times I had to reschedule or ask to come in sooner it's never any open ability! Their reply is always dry and rude like they could care less! I'll be glad when I get my braces off! The Dr and the back office is not a problem! I love them. Dr you need to get new front desk staff or have them go to training for customer service if you want to have hard working people money to keep your business going! I'm just saying! And always remember you never know what a person is going through. That's why I treat people with respect because that's what I want. But if you take me there I will go there!

Dr. Haynes, a true professional, very knowledgeable and willing to share if you ask plenty of questions. As a four-year patient, Dr. Haynes and staff are great! Dr. Haynes knows her teeth and you see results! Only once has my appointment been rescheduled (due to inclement weather). I've sat in the same orthodontist assistant's chair EVERY visit! She's the best! They also have the VERY best dental hygienist ever (book her in advance!) 5-Star Team!

I have been going to University Centre Dental for over 10 years and I have always received excellent service from all staff and the doctors are amazing. My ortho tech Claudia is amazing and always gives me amazing service, her and Dr. E. Haynes have worked wonders on my teeth! If you need an amazing Orthodontist I HIGHLY recommend Dr. E Haynes.

My daughter has went to Hayes Dentistry for over 3 years. Throughout those three years they have been both rude and condescending to her, my husband and I. Communication seems to be nonexistent. To top it off all of this is after we've paid them over $5,000 for her braces.

The worst orthodontist dentist I won't recommend this office the customer service is the worst every since my mom and I myself have gone there we usually get ignore completely or super rude two Spanish girl there's the rudest everybody in there don't care about customer service. Very unhelpful they forget to put in appointments then blame it on patients and say it's totally booked we cannot be in even though it's their fault. They forget to put patients in schedule and also had be standing at the front desk while the Patients while she was checking in and talking to other patients and completely ignoring me and then again one of the Spanish girls in there always arguing with my mother about the appointments time and my mother is not crazy i am there listening to her making the appointment that dentist is the WORST HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND NOBODY TO GO THERE. BUT THEIR AWESOME TO COLLECT THE MONEY OHHHH THAT THEIR ON POINT. THEY HAD ME STANDING 30 minutes AND COMPLETELY IGNORED ME I SWEAR I WILL NEVER COME BACK OR RECOMMEND NOBODY TO GO THERE.
