Dr. Unger recently celebrated his 50th anniversary with his wife Barb, and enjoys the time they can spend with their three children and seven grandchildren. When hes not in the office, Dr. Unger enjoys all types of water sports at Lake of the Ozarks, and spending time in his woodworking shop during the winter months.

Silver colored metal braces are the most common type of orthodontic treatment, and one of the most effective tools we have for correcting your smile. These metal braces or brackets are composed of durable, long-lasting metals like stainless steel. They are bonded to the front of your teeth and serve as an anchor for wires that will move your teeth. As you move along in your treatment, the wires will be changed out to straighten your teeth to the desired result. Sometimes, your doctor may prescribe elastics or rubber bands to be worn during treatment to help correct your bite.
Traditional metal braces are one of the most common orthodontic treatments for patients of all ages. They use metal brackets, an archwire and elastics to apply pressure that shifts your teeth into place.
Clear aligners like Invisalign are a popular alternative to traditional braces. They use custom-made, clear plastic trays to gradually shift the teeth into place. The trays are virtually invisible, with no metal wires, brackets or elastics. They are also removable, so you can take them out to eat, drink, brush and floss.

Dr. Unger and staff are the best. He's straightened my kids teeth, my nieces teeth, my brother's teeth, and even my teeth!!! We are all smiling fabulously thanks to him!!! I strongly recommend Dr. Unger to anyone considering braces!

We love Unger Orthodontics! The staff is friendly and always willing to answer any questions we have. Dr. Unger is great with the kids! They love that they give explanations as they are being treated and don't have any surprises. The cookies after treatment are the icing on the cake!

We've had a great experience with Dr. Unger and his staff. We have a large family and have had both braces and Invisalign. Both have gone very well! Services are fairly priced and payment options are available.

It is clear that Dr. Unger and his team put the needs of the patient first. Today my daughter started her treatment plan with Dr. Unger, and everyone in the office was wonderful! With their kindness and understanding, they all helped to put my daughter's nerves at ease. As a mother, I am beyond appreciative of how they spoke to my daughter and made her feel as if her concerns were their top priority. This has truly been the most pleasant experience!!

I knew I would be in good hands since I was referred by my dentist Brian Niehaus who is awesome. I initially had a consultation and ended up getting braces the same day. I have never felt so welcomed in my life! I mean every one of the staff makes a great team and they were amazing from the first phone call to the service. Their friendliness, organization, timing, protocol (for COVID), communication, wide variety of options, billing, cleanliness all deserve more than 5 stars in my opinion. Lastly the highlight, Dr. Unger himself was/is extremely hands on and personable which I truly appreciate because these days great customer service/care is truly hard to find. I would recommend any and everyone. Keep up the great work, I am more than satisfied and am smiling from ear to ear with confidence. Thank you thank you thank you.

There is no reason to look further. The Dr and Staff are amazing. All my questions were answered. Never did I feel rushed or confused about what I needed done. I highly recommend having Dr. and staff for your dental needs. The only thing I wish is he was a general dentist so he can take care of all my dental needs.

I havent gone since I was 7 but he did alot of unneccessary work on me that caused me pain. I go to a new ortho now and they had to fix the changes he made.
