UNE'sexpansive, holistic vision of a healthier worldgoes beyond physical well-being. It encompasses emotional and intellectual fulfillment as well as economic opportunity for individuals, prosperous and supportive communities, and cooperative environmental stewardship across the globe.

Bringing that vision to life requires the deep involvement ofall of our programs, often working incross-disciplinary combinations, including thenatural and social sciences, the humanities and the arts, business, and health.

As Maines leading provider of health professionals, we build on a legacy oftop-ranked health professions programs(including Maines onlymedical collegeandphysician assistant program, and Northern New Englands onlydental college) and our national leadership ininterprofessional health care education.

UNE students are supported by our exceptional commitment to experiential, on-site learning; the uncommon research opportunities we offer (especially to undergrads); our dedication to fostering a welcoming community; and our belief in the importance of cross-cultural fluency. UNE students study abroad at five times the national average, through partnerships in Spain, France, and Iceland and on our one-of-a-kind jewel of a campus in Tangier, Morocco.

UNE students engage in a lively, respectful marketplace of ideas, where they gain not only the knowledge of their chosen disciplines, but they also acquire the habits of mind (such as critical thinking) and general professional competencies (such as how to collaborate and communicate effectively in a variety of settings) that give them the lifelong skills and flexibility to meet the challenges of our world and to become active leaders in creating its future.

Building upon the traditions of St. Francis College and Westbrook College, the University of New England has grown and evolved for more than a century. Now encompassing three campuses, over 40 undergraduate majors, six Centers of Excellence in Research, a College of Osteopathic Medicine, a College of Pharmacy, and Northern New England's only College of Dental Medicine, our institution is poised for progress.

We will realize this mission by committing to a distinctive approach to education that will make UNE among the most experientially driven institutions of higher education in the nation. We will provide teaching and learning that conjoins problem-based and hands-on learning, liberal education, and professional training to immerse students in an educational experience that prepares them with:

We will be an institution that challenges students to learn broadly, master their professional skills, and ask probing questions. In this way, they will prepare themselves for further study and successful careers, deeply rewarding lives, and meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.

We believe the benefits of a richly varied campus community arise not only from the diversity of its people but also from a sense of belonging and the context this creates to explore and celebrate differences in backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, underpinned by a sense of cultural humility and a commitment to ethical ideals.

We take nothing for granted and view thoughtfuleven uncomfortablequestioning as essential to the pursuit of knowledge, contribution to society, and a life worth living. Our commitment to University-wide academic freedom is fundamental to this value.

Solutions to the complex and varied challenges we face in our personal and professional lives, our communities, and society will not be found in any single discipline, college, physical location, or individual. Thus, our ability to move easily across such boundaries in order to collaborate with colleagues makes us better problem solvers and more likely of success in whatever ventures we undertake.

We believe that teaching and learning should occur beyond traditional classrooms and laboratoriesin any place ripe for inquiry and experimentation, including clinics, environmental and field-study sites, online forums, libraries, museums, theaters, and places of civic engagement, among many others.

My dentist is Hannah. I unfortunately haven't been to the dentist for awhile. Hannah explained everything. She is extremely professional, kind, knowledgeable and caring. She and her assistants work well together Highly recommend UNE Dental.

They have the most useless customer service phone number. The phone line is always busy and if you leave a voice message, they will return your call in 48 hours if your lucky. Whenever you need to contact them, you will have to drive to office in person

For routine care there is generally no problem except with scheduling and billing. For more difficult care there are many problems. These I find to be more with the dental staff and not so much the students. There does not seem to be a standard of care and each dentist the student works with has their own opinion and way of treating. Over time this can cause a great deal of difficulty with procedures such as a crown. I do not think my family will continue to be treated here though we have since the Dental School clinic opened. I also have to say I have never seen anyone at this place wash their hands or use sanitizer and only very infrequently change gloves, though I would think they must and I will try to observe this.

Really love that this place exists, the prices are really good if you don't have insurance or are referred to a provider out of network, which I was... The price of 2 extractions went from around $1000 to about $400 at une, yes you're getting work done by students but there's always a professional near by in case they need help and all the students I've met are really great and very careful

Got a tooth fixed and redone. It fell apart and they refuse to fix it because they couldn't get in contact with me. I was working and calling them every break I had for a week and they wouldn't answer nor could I leave a message. 4 stars for the actual student I had. Very calming and made sure I wasn't in pain. He deserves his own practice asap and I'd pay more to see him.

I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, it's better than Community Dental, and the prices are somewhat lower than you'd pay at a regular dentist's office. On the other hand, my experiences here have helped me understand why so many people are afraid of going to the dentist. I repeatedly asked the student and the supervisor to NOT do something and told them that I did NOT consent to it, but they kept pressuring me to do it and it started to feel like harassment and bullying after a while. The supervisor was more concerned with giving her student an experience than she was with my care as a patient. Unfortunately the only two choices for poor people are this place and Community Dental. It's like choosing the lesser of two evils.

What a wonderful place this is! I absolutely love the student Jess Guter I am assigned to! She is the best! Knowledgeable, and welcoming, and.. She loves Classic Rock music! I had an appointment today and Zach was partnering with Jess to assist with my procedure. Although I met him for the first time today, he made me feel so comfortable! I find myself looking forward to my next appointments!! I would very much recommend UNE Oral Health Center.

They are great! My son's dentist was going to take months to get him in after an emergency, and he was seen that week at UNE. They usually do a consultation first, but they did both that day for him! He even had gone back since for more work, and is still not up on the list for his dentist yet.

I've been trying to call them for over a month to talk about dental work but nobody EVER answers the phone. It's very frustrating! Hopefully this will get someone to notice and I'll be contacted. I've been on the website and put in my name and phone number. My name is Jason Horr. If I get contacted I'll adjust this review.

Excellent professionalism and skill by the students (4th year), as well as supervision by the best local dentists. BUT at times (often) you can't get through on the phone. At times I've called all day long and never got an answer. Once I had to actually go there to ask a question in person. That's the only problem I've seen.
