Each of the seven member organizations comprising UHS is owned by the community it serves, and each organization is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors composed of local citizens. Also, each has adopted its own compliance program, which is administered by the compliance committee and designated chairperson. These committees report bi-monthly to the UHS Corporate Compliance Council, which is chaired by the Corporate Compliance Officer.

All members of the UHS healthcare system work together to improve our communitys health and meet its needs with state-of-the-art hospitals, physician practices, long-term care and home care services. We strive to be a great place to work, practice medicine and receive care.

UHS is the Southern Tiers largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services. A locally owned, not-for-profit system, it is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of residents of the region. Founded in Greater Binghamton in 1981, UHS was formed through the consolidation of three community hospitals. Over the years it has grown to encompass four hospitals, plus long-term care and home care services, and physician practices in Broome and surrounding counties.
