Venice Family Clinics team of enrollment specialists can help you get and maintain health coverage through Medi-Cal, Covered California and other local programs, such as My Health LA. We are here to help, whether you need to enroll or renew your coverage, understand letters youve received from your insurance program, dispute wrongful terminations of your health coverage or change your primary provider. We can also help you enroll to get as nutrition assistance through CalFresh.

Venice Family Clinic offers a number of different classes and programs, all designed to help patients and other community members improve their health and wellbeing. Dr. Gilmore Chung especially loves interacting with the patients who come to Venice Family Clinic. Similar to every physician at the Clinic, he is dedicated to providing quality medical care, whether thats conducting a routine check-up, diagnosing and treating an acute illness, or helping patients manage chronic conditions. He sees it as an integral part of his job to help ensure his patients overall well-being, which he most often does by taking time to learn about their lives. His goal for all his patients is that they walk away from their interaction feeling more hopeful that they can have a brighter future.

Dr. Rita Evazyan is all smiles, all the time a shining example of the confidence she wants her patients to feel from knowing that their teeth and gums are healthy. You can visit her for any of the Clinics standard dental services, including cleanings, fillings, extractions and x-rays. But on any given day, you might also run into her riding her bicycle along Ballona Creek, where shell greet you with the same welcoming smile and cheerful disposition you get when youre sitting in her dental chair.

Olivia Vanegas is a medical assistant at the Clinics Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center. The part of her job Olivia likes most is making every patient feel welcome and at ease. She sees that as the best way to make sure that her patients have the best possible experience. She knows that the more comfortable patients are, the more they will be willing to open up about their lives, which gives her a better chance to make sure they have everything they need to get and stay healthy.

Lili Orellana is one of Venice Family Clinics stellar therapists. Lilis calm and comforting presence puts her patients at ease, which is especially important for people who are wrestling with an upsetting situation. In those moments, when her patients pain feels insurmountable or fear about opening up too much sets in, Lili listens and tries to help them replace their negative beliefs with more nurturing ones. Thats how Lili tries to achieve her goal of helping her patients improve their quality of life.

Like most people in her profession, Liz Pena became a nurse to help people feel better. Shes practiced her craft in many other places (even other states), but theres nowhere shed rather be than Venice Family Clinic. She is utterly devoted to the Clinics mission of providing quality health care to people in need, and she appreciates how the entire staff at the Clinic shares her strong commitment. She also likes that she has the flexibility to spend quality time with her patients so they leave feeling a little better and with a little more hope.

On November 1, Venice Family Clinic merged with South Bay Family Health Care, a community health center founded in 1969 and operating 5 clinics. Venice Family Clinic has now expanded to a network of 17 locations, plus 2 mobile clinics and an extensive street medicine program. A team of more than 500 staff and 1400 volunteers delivers care to 45,000 people with compassion, dignity and respect. Our service area spans from the Santa Monica Mountains through the South Bay.

Venice Family Clinic believes in evidence-based programs. We work with partners to conduct behavioral, organizational, and community health studies that will make an immediate impact on the patients we serve by finding ways to improve care and health outcomes. This includes projects that improve understanding uninsured patients and pilot programs and interventions that have the potential to improve the quality of care we provide.

Venice Family Clinic offers internships, residencies and training programs for all the services we provide. This includes programs in primary care, pharmacy, dental care, mental health, behavioral health, and administrative work, among others. Students, residents and interns who rotate through the clinic gain a better understanding of how to serve diverse populations while they help us fulfill our mission. Some of our partnerships include working with residents at Kaiser Permanente, Cedars-Sinai, and the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.

Venice Family Clinic works with a number of community-based organizations who also serve our patient population, including The People Concern and St. Josephs Center among others. These partnerships allow us to connect patients with the services they need to achieve their best health, whether it is housing, food, clothing, vocational training or financial services.

Venice Family Clinic and the RAND Corporation partnered to conduct a rigorous five-year study that explored ways to integrate substance use treatment into a primary care setting. The result was the creation and validation of the SUMMIT programSubstance Use, Motivation and Medication Integrated Treatmentan evidence-based model that empowers primary care clinics to both identify and treat addiction. With the SUMMIT program, Venice Family Clinic can ensure that more patients with opioid and alcohol use disorders get the care they need.

Venice Family Clinic works alongside The People Concern on integrated street outreach teams with the objective of guiding people experiencing homelessness on the path to housing. Our medical professionals provide services to help stabilize a persons physical and mental health, while The People Concerns social workers and case managers help to connect them to housing and other services. Jointly the teams build trust with people who are living on the streets with the goal of getting each person into housing, thus offering them their best opportunity for health and wellness.

Venice Family Clinic partners with UCLA through a unique affiliation agreement that provides administrative and clinical support to the Clinic. A key aspect of the collaboration is that UCLA and Venice Family Clinic are able to train fellows, residents, interns, and other students across a wide range of medical and public health fields including cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, family medicine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
