Since our inception in 1964, our focus has been on achieving and maintaining excellence in four areas: comprehensive dental education, cutting-edge research, quality patient care, and a shared commitment to community service. Over five decades, our dedicated student dentists, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, have propelled the UCLA School of Dentistry to being one of the premier dental schools in the world.

The caliber of our faculty, staff, and student dentists help foster a dynamic environment, focused towards the future. Along with our passion and dedication to be among the best in the world, UCLA Dentistry is truly unique. As part of a world-renowned research university, combined with excellent educational programs and clinic training, we believe this is where leaders are made.

A commitment to community service is emphasized here, and our student dentists, residents, and trainees are given numerous opportunities to interact with patients in order to experience first-hand the needs of the community. Its this same commitment to providing high quality, affordable care to our patients that sets the School of Dentistry and the UCLA Dental Clinics apart. With 3 Los Angeles locations and 13 specialty clinics, serving patients is an integral part of our teaching process.

Skilled and able to provide compassionate person-centered care in a more integrated health care system, our graduates will be fully prepared for the future of dentistry.

Aspiring to be a community of faculty, staff, students and patients, where a sense of belonging and respect is felt by all, is a culture thats deeply ingrained into our daily actions. And encouraging an environment of engagement and productive dialogue helps to foster our core values of compassion, tolerance, and mutual respect.

Already one of the top research programs in the nation, we want to be a leader in the transformation of dental education. With UCLAs hallmark culture of discovery and creativity, in an environment that values scholarship and innovation, we are poised to lead the way.

Have been participating in dental service at UCLA for several years. Experience depends on lots of factors. As I age my concern at this time is inadequate parking spaces for Handicapped clients! I only know of 1 marked space near the Dental Clinic building. Be prepared to walk up stairs, hills, steps, and long distances just to get to the building.

I called and left many messages and no returned calls. They really don't care about the dental patients only about themselves and getting through he day. Very disorganized.

Very Nice Place and Friendly Staff. Only PROBLEM was I got there at 12:15, 15 minutes early! Well 2:30 came around so I spoke up! They Looked at Me Like What!?!? And had no idea what happened. Well Someone dropped the ball somewhere! Me as a Front Desk Receptionist ALWAYS ask Our Clients what's going on when I See them sitting there long. I can't watch every move , so it doesn't hurt to ask! But, in all EXCELLENT Facility!

My experience at this dental facility has been a pleasant one. I was seen at the UCLA Endodontics department by Dr. Thomas Lin. Not only has he been one of the kindest, most down to earth individuals in the medical field I've had treating me, he has been one of the more professional and thorough ones. So far, I've had two root canals done, and they have been performed successfully with out pain. One of the things I appreciate so much is that he was so conservative with one of the root canals, that all I needed was a final filling and no crown required. Saved me on the expense of this purchase. He'd also make sure I was comfortable and knew what was going on in the process. I still may need to be treated for two other root canals, and I'm hoping I can continue to see him for that. I'll be sad to see him go, when he pursues his own practice or starts employment elsewhere. I'm sure any of his future patients will be in good hands and have a great dental experience with him. I was blessed to get a great dentist here. One thing to note, is that you need to have patience. This is a very busy facility and I'm sure the staff is overworked. Make sure to ask about insurance coverage and ask your questions so you don't get any surprises. I'd advise you try working directly with the dentist to get a position in their schedules and ask for availability while you're there at the office. Again, I emphasize, this facility is a very busy one, that caters to low income and is a practice student facility too, so I would think that wait times are longer due to this. Patience is definitely required. Ultimately, I know that it's the luck of the draw and not everyone may have the greatest experience at UCLA, but that's the case at any practice. Hopefully more individuals can get the quality care, like I've had here.

At the start of COVID-19 pandemic, my osteoporosis had a direct negative effect on gum and periodontal disease. The loss of teeth led to my existing denture/bridge ceasing to fit. I am 82, due to my complicated health conditions involving a worsened Parkinson's condition at the beginning of the pandemic, on-going heart conditions due to mitral valve repair surgery, on-going nutritional issue due to stomach cancer and intestine surgeries, and on-going Prolia injections, no regular dental professionals would treat me during a pandemic, and we had visited a few dental offices. My family and I are truly grateful that UCLA Dental Clinics, particularly, the UCLA Hospital Dentistry was able to provide me with great care in treating my fragile deteriorating teeth in order to have a full set of denture. The entire process was a bit long across 12 months: partially attributed by insurance approval; largely due to the amount of dental procedures since I had been receiving Prolia injections, so teeth extractions were not the recommended; partially also due to my worsened Parkinson's conditions. My family and I are frankly amazed that the UCLA Hospital Dentistry has been able to treat my teeth while my mouth has been shaking during every dental appointment along with my left side of body while PD's on-time kicked in. Thank you to Dr. Chung, Dr. Barba, along with the entire UCLA Hospital Dentistry staff and team! You have not only been providing a great public service, but also setting a higher standard with an exemplary professional service especially during a global pandemic. I am so looking forward in having a greater chance of restoring my health with my new denture! Thank you kindly!

Charges $92 for just the first meeting (even if you don't need xrays). Don't bother calling, they refuse to give any price quotes over the phone. Absolutely cruel to price like this at a low income teaching clinic, should be illegal.

Oral Maxillary Clinic has extremely difficult phone access. Phone calls were not answered and sent to a request for MY voicemail; disconnected after one ring; placed on hold for over 35 minutes and once answered and told that would call back... it's been 15 days.

We had great experience with UCLA dentistry. My daughter is special needs and has to be sedated to have her teeth cleaned and filled. The dentist was able to conduct their procedure while another surgery was being done so my baby would only have to go under once. They were kind and through, we really like Dr. Katz she was great with special needs children!

Actually, this place, thus far, has been a hair raising experience. I went in yesterday for an extraction. It took almost two months to get this appointment even though I was referred by my dentist in Santa Monica. I didn't get the extraction and could not understand virtually anything the intern said to me. They sent me home only to come back for an extraction on another tooth and a suggestion that I see a surgeon for the other matter. I was given a same-day refund from the cashier. I was at their window at ten minutes to five. It was already closed. Today, I was transferred five times attempting to reach the cashier. Utlimately, I was sent to a voicemail and told to leave a number. I'm giving all of the details so you can directly experience what it has felt like to deal with this place.

I scheduled an appointment for a root canal but had to reschedule twice because I couldn't find a ride since I live in Bakersfield. So, I had my husband take a day off from work so he can take me to my appointment. And when I scheduled I specifically asked for a female student doctor for religious reasons. The lady that scheduled seemed confused. She first told me to come in on Tuesday because that's when they have a female doctor. But then right before we hung up, she said to come in Monday. Not even a minute later, she calls back and says she meant Tuesday. I asked are you sure and it's a female right? She said yes. So, my appointment day comes along and I was already having a bad feeling because usually they call a day before to remind me but didn't this time. I couldn't call to make sure before we left because they weren't open yet. So, we head out before 6:30 in the morning. We arrived a little after 9 and when we get there, they say I have NO APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED! I tried explaining but he said it doesn't show in their system. So, I asked if they can squeeze me in since I came from Bakersfield and they said they can but only with a male. I didn't want to do that, so we just went home. Waste of time, gas, miles. My husband was off from work for a few days so he can take me (he does trucking). My son missed his school because I wasn't at home to teach him (home school). It was such a huge disappointment!

I have been seen by the Oral Maxillofacial clinic a few times over the past decade, with the most recent visit last month. Staff are friendly and welcoming. It is true that sometimes it is difficult to get a live person to answer the phone. I have had the best luck in calling after 2 pm or just emailing them directly.

Old decrepit building. Some of their clinics are hard or impossible to reach by phone on a timely basis and despite it being 2019 they don't post price info to their website (seriously, insanely abusive anti-consumer practice--WTF UCLA?!?!!) so you have to freaking physically walk in to ask basic questions about pricing and availability. And then it turns out it costs MORE (in some cases MASSIVELY MORE) to be treated there by a resident than at an actual practicing professional dentist under DeltaCare. Here's a tip: forget the dental clinic and join Delta Dental through Costco for ~$90 then go to a private dentist instead ($600ish for a crown vs $900 ish by a clinic resident, and $675 for a root canal vs $725 for a clinic resident (3 week wait!).

I really like their services. My nephew who is going through a hard economic hardship is currently receiving his dental services through them. The only catch is trying to find sources to pay for the services. Don't take me wrong, their costs are very low, but when you have no source of income and you need major work, its kind of hard to keep getting the work done.

No follow up. About 40 voicemails left. Never pick up the phone. No reply back. Stuck for months.
