The federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) enacted in March of 2010 requires 501(c)(3) hospitals, including the four licensed hospitals of UC Health, to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and create implementation plans that address select needs that are identified in the assessments for tax years beginning after March 23, 2012. In its simplest definition, a CHNA is the on-going process for a hospital to evaluate the health needs of a community. The CHNAs and implementation plans, which the UC Health Board of Directors approved on May 25, 2016, are available for public review. The below links will take you to the CHNAs and implementation plans for UC Medical Center, West Chester Hospital, Drake Center and the UC Health Surgical Hospital.
