Dr. Yetunde Patrick is a general dentist hailing from the windy city of Chicago, IL. Dr. Patrick graduated from Spelman College with a BS in Biology, and later earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Maryland-Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. Her interest in dentistry has always been rooted in community, serving as SNDA President, Community Service Chair, and helping to establish the 1st Baltimore Oral Cancer Walk. For these endeavors, she was recognized and awarded the Dean community service award, Curtis Adams award and the nationally recognized Albert Schweitzer Fellowship.
Upon finishing her dental degree, she worked in community dentistry and private practice before starting her own office in Washington DC. Dr. Patrick believes in an holistic approach to health, and is a fitness enthusiast. She loves practicing yoga, dance and core body conditioning. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family, dancing, interior design and binge watching Netflix. She looks forward to meeting you!
Dr. Ishita Topiwala has had a passion for art and medical sciences since her childhood and found the perfect balance of the two in dentistry. Alongside mastering the craft of dentistry, she enjoys getting to know her patients and building a bond with them.
Dr. Topiwala is a Toronto native who has recently made the move to DC. She attended Western University in Ontario where she graduated with a Bachelors in Medical Sciences. She then went on to receive her DDS degree from University of Toronto.In her free time you can find her eating her way through DC. She also loves spending time with her dog, going on hikes, making sourdough bread, and traveling.
Dr. Marla Yee hails from Kingston, Jamaica. When not in clinic, Dr. Yee enjoys baking, yoga, and crafting. Dr. Yee has a long history in STEM, beginning her training as a researcher at the University of Pennsylvania investigating immuno-therapies for breast cancer. Marla has extensive research experience in cultural competence and minority health.
After spending several years in Philadelphia, Dr. Yee moved to Baltimore to begin her dental training at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She completed her DDS and Master in Public Health concentrating on community and population health. Upon graduating, she went on to complete a rigorous General Practice Residency at NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn where she received specialized training in Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Pediatric Dentistry.
Joanna Fiels attended Erie community college and SUNY College for dental hygiene. She has been a hygienist since 1984! While her career has flourished her family is the real priority. As a breast cancer survivor, She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and taking time for self care. Our office adores her energy and vibrant pink lipstick! Always ready for any event. Poor customer service. Staff was rude. Walked there in the rain and they would not do a simple cleaning without doing X-Rays. Overall very disappointing and a waste of my time.

I'm new to DC and was dreading finding a new dentist because of a previous unfavorable experience in my last new city. This initial visit did not disappoint! Really accommodating, helpful, and kind :)

Very nice and friendly staff. Seems to be mostly females of color which is comforting. Lots of tvs with Netflix to entertain you.

Amazing! Super clean and the staff was awesome. I am blanking on my dentists name but I think it was Dr. Patrick who was so fun sweet personable and really knew what she was doing. She walked me though everything and always made sure I was comfortable. Highly recommend and will be returning.

I hate going to the dentist and have had many bad experiences but Dr. Topiwala and the U St. staff are so great that even though I moved a half hour away I still go to see Dr. Topiwala because she doesn't recommend unnecessary work and acts with my best interests in mind in a very caring and genuine way.

I love U St Family dentistry, it's hard to find a smaller dentist in the city, but they are growing and but still very attentive.

The U Street Family Dentistry are all super kind and accommodating! Dr. Topiwala is very nice, efficient, and patient. I don't like going to the dentist because I have sensitive teeth, but the staff makes the experience as pleasant as possible. They have also scheduled me for last minute appointments multiple times when I've had issues with my retainer that was making it difficult to eat, or when I needed something extra when I was just scheduled for a cleaning.

Dr. Yee and the techs I've worked with are all wonderful, but I had a really strange experience. I came in for crowns and a night guard. The night guard didn't fit twice, which means that the mold/scans were off, and because I was moving across the country, I didn't have time for them to try a third time. So I left without a night guard. It took me *months* to get a refund. Eventually, my insurance company called them, and the owner told the insurance rep that she wasn't aware I was unsatisfied with the work. Even though I'd called about this before and left without a night guard in the end after two failed attempts. Again, the staff were nothing but lovely, but I wouldn't recommend U St based on my experience with the owner.
