I honestly feel I am one of the lucky people who really enjoy what they do for a living. I love being an orthodontist. For the past 14 years, I have had the opportunity to serve and meet so many wonderful people. The friendships I have made with my patients and their families, and the changes that I have made in their smiles, will last a lifetime.

Aresident of East Amherst, I proudly call Buffalo my home. During mystudiesat the University of Buffalo, I met my wife Courtney. We have two wonderful children: a son Landen and a daughter Aurora. When I am not spending time with my family, I am an assistant coach for the Lou Gehrig Lasers travel girls softball league. I am also an avid golfer, and I enjoy traveling and cheering on the Buffalo Sabres.
I take great pleasure in getting to know our patients on a personal level and treating each one in a caring, professional manner. I feel our team works hard to give each patient the attention he or shedeserves in a comfortable, considerate, and welcoming environment. I was thrilled to join the well-respected practice of Dr. Andrew MacDonald and Dr. Edwin Tyska in 2007. In 2011, I became a partner in the practice.
The doctors in our practice regularly participate in continuing education programs to stay current on treatment methods, materials, and technology. This allows us to provide our patients with more treatment options and stronger results for their smiles.

My family was visiting from Georgia when my daughter had a bracket come loose. I called an Tyska Alexander Ortho fit us in an hour later to help her. They were so kind and efficient and even gave her extra rubber bands. So thankful for this office and how helpful they were! If we lived in WNY they would absolutely be our choice for an orthodontist!

Dr. Tyska and his staff are amazing! They are friendly, prompt, and thorough. I have appreciated all of the attention to detail and thoroughness this office has provided to me during my Invisalign journey from beginning to end. Don't hesitate to come here for any of your teeth perfecting goals! :)

As a former employee of 14 years of Tyska & Alexander Orthodontics, there is no where else I trust my daughter's orthodontic treatment to be completed. I presently run a program at the dental school and I am extremely particular on infection control and my children's well being. I am a Dental Hygienist and after 14 years working side by side with these Dr.'s, I feel that I have expert knowledge in their infection control habits. The Dr.'s, staff and office are at the highest level of infection control safety protocols. I never worry when I walk into their office or bring my children there. The Dr.'s & staff go above & beyond to insure the safety of all patients, parents and staff that walk through their doors. They offer the highest quality in orthodontic treatment, with friendly, efficient and safe environment for all. Orthodontic Treatment to Perfection!

Couldn't help but notice neither the Treatment Coordinator, Tammy or Dr. Tyska were wearing an N95 or even a surgical mask while we were in the office. Instead, they both wore a cotton mask without nose-guards. In spite of this' and my better judgement' I allowed my 2 children to go ahead with their consultation photos, and examination. During the financial portion of our meeting the Treatment Coordinator indicated she was going to an adjacent county, where restaurants were open, in order to have a dinner out with her family for a birthday celebration. This weighed on me. So later that day, I phoned the office and asked if Dr. Tyska would be wearing an N95 Mask if I chose his practice for my children's braces. I was told Dr. Tyska does not like to wear an N95 mask because he isn't able to see as well with one in place. I let the office know that this news was a deal breaker for our family and we would need to find a different orthodontist. The office later phoned me back and told me Dr. Tyska had agreed to wear the proper mask thorough the procedures if that is what we required him to do. It was just a few days later that I received a phone call that one of the two people we met with had tested positive for Covid! The office did offer to pay for my children to get tested and we certainly did just that. The scare, and their blatant lack of Covid precautionary measures, lead us to go elsewhere for our orthodontic needs. It is my suggestion that you do the same.

We have been seeing Dr. Tyska for several years now and I have recommended him and his staff to many friends and colleagues. We have found their service and professionalism to be exemplary. The Tonawanda office is fantastic from the moment you walk through the door. The receptionists are warm and welcoming and the wait time is never more than just a few minutes. We have found that their precautions throughout this Covid-19 pandemic have been fantastic. Temperatures are taken immediately for anyone who walks through the door and each person is required to fill out a Covid questionnaire. Every staff member is wearing their mask properly and we have never felt anything other than perfectly comfortable and safe while visiting the office. Back in January (the 5th, I believe) my 14 year old son had an appointment. The next day we received a phone call from a staff member reporting that someone in their office had tested positive for Covid. This was not a surprise, as numbers in Erie county had been on the rise for several weeks and the holidays had just passed. Dr. Tyska graciously offered to pay for Covid testing for both my son and I, who had both been in the building (albeit for a very short time since this office is so efficiently run). Luckily, our tests came back negative. In the end, we could have just as easily been exposed to Covid at school or in the grocery store, but we truly appreciated the efforts of the office staff for letting us know that we may have been exposed and for paying for the tests. Please do not hesitate to have orthodontia done with Dr. Tyska and/or Dr. Alexander. I will never bring my children to anyone else!

For many years I have been referring patients to Drs.Tyska and Alexander for orthodontic care. No matter whether the patient is a child, adolescent or adult, straightforward or complex, they handle every case with the same care and detail. The outcomes have always been superior and the patients always come back having had a great experience. In the past 18 month, I had the opportunity to experience it first hand as 2 of my own children completed orthodontic care with Drs. Tyska and Alexander. Absolutely wonderful experience. Personalized card and get started goodie bag! Definitely red carpet treatment for their patients. Dr. Tyska was super nice and friendly. Took care of my daughter. Braces looks great. Only places to go for braces. Staff was the best!!!!!! Helpful, friendly, and nice.

Being a previous invisalign case that was limited on options, I wanted braces. Tyska Alexander Orthodontics has been the most friendly and informative experience I've had yet. I finally got braces and I am so glad I went with this team to achieve my goals for my smile. I loved every encounter I had with each staff member and the doctor is absolutely amazing. This is the first of 4 different orthodontists who asked me what I was looking for in results instead of telling me their opinion. I highly recommend this team of professionals to assist you in achieving your goals. I wish I would have known about them sooner and would have started my treatment with them from the beginning instead of them having to fix another doctor's work.

I just can't say enough about how much I appreciate Dr. Tyska and his staff. I'd give them fifty million stars if I could. I can't believe I am saying this, but after two years of monthly and sometimes even weekly visits, it feels like they have become second family to me. This practice was a single ray of sunshine and hope after a work accident I had, when no other practice in town was willing to take worker's comp and help me so that I would be able to chew properly again. Dr. Tyska is an angel in human disguise, and caring for his patients is something that happens so naturally for him that it makes all other dental practices I've encountered over the years seem pale and compromising in comparison. Not only Dr. Tyska, but his entire team is super kind, helpful, professional, and caring - and also funny and creative. Thank you Tammy, Carrie, Monica, Rose, and Rebecca - and apologies for anyone else that I have neglected to mention. I am deeply grateful to all of you. Why can't all medical providers be like you?!

I truly cannot get over how wonderfully nice and kind everyone is at Tyska Alexander Orthodontics. Everyone always has a smile on their face and greets you with kind words. You feel like they know you on a more personal level and really want you to have great success with whatever process you are currently going through. This applies to ALL of the staff. They work with your schedule, your finances, EVERYTHING. I hated going to the dentist and ortho as a child, and I cannot believe that I am saying this, but I actually look forward to my appointments now! Not to mention, I am seeing amazing results already from my Invisalign, and I am just so grateful.
