First, I'll state that Dr. Dawn Tyler (the wife) PRESENTS herself as a well educated dentist with sense. She acts as though she cares and is willing to provide the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions. I never dealt with the Husband, as I've only used the pediactric side of their work for my children. I was very excited to find an office my kids like, where I could ensure my kids were getting great care, but after the first visit is where it all ENDS!! Dr. Tyler and her offices are a pure JOKE, starting with the office manager, GiGi. This full of herself child does not deserve to be in customer service, let alone anyone's office manager. As stated in the previous review, the child (GiGi), is one of the most Rude and obnoxious people I've met in my life. My children we're scheduled for procedures and plans had changed since the last visit so I asked questions. The visit went well (after I was informed of the new path forward, because I AM THE PARENT) and everything was good until the office called me to do their job and file the insurance. It was downhill from there, because as I stated to the child on the phone - Yal have my insurance, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO YOUR JOB. Nonetheless, I still was the person to get things situated. They also kept mixing my kids records and that was super annoying. Skip forward, after two visits I was sent a seperation letter because I "did not follow the Dr. recommendations". I followed every recommendation down to the T! So the reality is the fact that I wasnt doing the office manager's job and expressed that to her, it was a problem. I also corroborate the other review on this business by stating that after this horrible experience, I have not been allowed to speak with Dawn Tyler after multiple requests! GiGi continues to be a gate keeper and stated that Dr. Tyler signed the letter and there is no need to speak. I've even looked into another office that I thought was a great choice near my kids Dr. Offices but was highly upset to find out Dr. Tyler was the owner (Magnolia Kid friendly Dental, Mitchellville or Lake Arbor MD). Then to make matters worse, the women there were understandably in agreement when hearing the circumstances until they spoke with the child GiGi, 3 days later and were thrown into the slow circle and didn't make any sense in trying to gate keep me from asking informed questions about my children and the nonfactual dismissal to Dr. Tyler. And to top it off, the Magnolia office indicated that the letter was sogned by the wife and husband (which it wasn't... see pictures) and then when I asked to speak to the Dr about the letter they said it came from Gigi and NOT the Dr. Lol, someone's lying here!!! & No I never spoke to the Dr.... Pros: Tyler is gentle and good with kids, SEEMS informed (but apparently not) Cons: Dont ask questions or you may get dismissed; the patient must make their own insurance claim and is not informed until its time to make the claim; there is no way to speak to the Dr.; the office manager is a rude child with horrible customer service and throws tantrums when she doesnt get her way; In addition, the office manager has horrible comprehension skills and wants to pass off her job onto the customers. Bottomline: GO TO SOMEONE WHERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VALUED and you can be informed before making decisions without being condemned. Hopefully more people see the devil in a sheeps' clothing here.

I have been a patient of Tyler Dental but had not been in for a while and the entire staff was still so warm and welcoming to me and my daughter who is a new patient. From Gigi at the front desk to Kristen and Shelby who made the visit so fun and comfortable! And of course Dr. Tyler himself is always warm and makes us feel comfortable!!

GIGI is incredibly disrespectful, she accused me of being a bad mother and not treating my child with an appliance for her dental care, HOWEVER, she refused to let me speak to dr tyler to go over the options for my child. I took my child to the Dunkirk office to go over her treatment plan and nobody, even the dentist knew what I was talking about. How can I treat my child if the dentist and her staff doesn't even know what's going on. GIGI thinks because she is the "care coordinator and office manager" she can speak to the patients and their mothers like they're trash! She needs to be removed from customer service and I want a meeting with Dr. Tyler and GIGI to see if this is acceptable behavior for their practice? So I schedule the appointment and we will be discussing my child's treatment plan and GIGI's inappropriate, rude and cruel comment to a mother that has been trying to get this done but the PRACTICE and staff can't get it together. She even told me to find another dentist because she didn't want to let me talk to the dentist. I sure hope she doesn't have kids, they'll end up like her'

Honestly not sure if I'll be back based on how unnecessarily painful my cleaning was today; as in, this visit landed in the top 3 most uncomfortable dental experiences of my life. Hopefully it isn't standard practice or I just got unlucky and was seen on a short-staffed or an "off day" for this office, because I did not receive the quality of care I anticipated based on all the glowing reviews here. The positives: Greatly appreciated the Covid policy of face masks required for everyone. Front office staff was great! Dr. T was friendly, attentive, a good listener, and right away problem-solved a biting issue I had. Room for improvement: No dental hygienist ever saw me during this visit and I've never had a dentist handle all the hygienist work before, but it felt really rough & uncomfortable compared to what I'm used to. The dental assistant (I can't remember her name) wasn't watching closely enough for staying on top of the suction, so I nearly choked a few times and I was trying really hard not to panic about that. Then after the polishing and scaling from Dr. T, this same assistant flossed my teeth so aggressively with a "slamming flat down as hard as possible" technique that yanked my head up & down each time. I stopped her halfway thru to tell & teach her about how tightly-spaced teeth like mine please need to be flossed with a "see-saw" rocking motion instead. She didn't seem to give a damn and replied with "well it's great you know your own teeth" and then kept going with her full force pounding of the flatly-held floss straight down into my already bleeding, sore, swollen gums. Summary: Going to the dentist is already a vulnerable and nerve-wracking experience, and as a helpless patient all we can do is trust our healthcare professionals to know & do their jobs well. In this case, I felt disappointed there wasn't a trained hygienist to specifically handle that part of the appointment; and I felt a breach of trust when I gave prompt feedback about how the assistant was hurting me & how she could avoid that, yet she didn't care or listen or bother to try being more gentle.
