At Tylan Creek Family Dentistry, our commitment to patients in the Powdersville, Simpsonville, and Greenwood, SC communities doesnt end, when the office closes for the day. Our dentists and team members volunteer their time, offer dental care, and provide financial support for a variety of local charitable events and organizations. We live and work in these communities, and we are passionate about making them a great place for our families and our patients' families. Some of the many community programs we support include Veteran services, programs that support current and retired school teachers, and the Humane Society. We are also proud supporters of the Let There be Mom organization that offers support to families affected by cancer, and the My Sisters House safe haven services offering support for victims of domestic violence.
Dr. Halbert has been working in dentistry for 30 years now and he's proud to spend his career in service to his community. He graduated from Clemson University in 1983 and then went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at The Medical University of South Carolina in 1987. He has advanced training in a number of fields, including dental implants, sleep medicine, and aesthetic dentistry. His favorite part of his job is getting to be surrounded by an outstanding staff of professionals here at Tylan Creek Family Dentistry.
Over time, Dr. Halbert has dedicated thousands of hours to residents of the Upstate through his work with the Greenville Free Medical/Dental Clinic and the Childrens Dental Clinic. He also regularly opens his doors to the less fortunate for free-of-charge dentistry and spends time in the local schools assisting with childrens dental health care and education courses. He enjoys mentoring young dentists whenever possible and is a member of several local and national dental organizations.
Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Halbert moved to the Upstate South Carolina in 1968. He is the only child of two hardworking, church-going parents. Outside of the dental office, his hobbies include fishing, hunting, golfing, and raising beef cattle. He has also coached varsity high school baseball for 13 years and counting!
Dr. Burns has been working in dentistry since 2008. He has his Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University. While at OSU College of Dentistry, he was actually able to combine his love of sports and dentistry as one of the student teams dentist, he received valuable training in both sports dentistry and dental trauma.
Originally from Lebanon, OH, Dr. Burns spent three years practicing in an underserved area of Ohio before choosing to move his family to Simpsonville. He and his wife Katie have two daughters named Claire and Caroline, a dog; Annie, and a cat; Simon.
In his free time, he enjoys following any sport, especially Ohio State football, being outside with his kids, hiking, boating, and fishing. Before going to dental school, Dr. Burns actually worked in highway construction for two years!

I can not say enough good things about this dental office, and especially Dr. Forrester and the dental assistants. The office is always clean. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating and go out of their way to make me comfortable. Dr. Forrester truly seems that he cares about his patients. He's called after my visit to check on my concerns and is always in a happy mood. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you guys for the care you've given me.

Best Dental office I've EVER been to in my life. The atmosphere is very relaxing and fancy but the best part is the staff, dentist and dental assistant. They're such an amazing team that truly care for their patients.

They were very kind as well as being quick to take care of me. First time getting novocaine shots that did NOT miserably hurt and make my eyes water. She knew what she was doing. They saved me money where they could and fitted me into the schedule to go ahead and take care of my tooth. Less than 1 1/2 hrs, I filled out my paperwork, got examined, x-rayed, results, fitted into schedule, numbed, tooth extracted, paid, and back in car. I would HIGHLY recommend them. I also liked the 90's music choice on the speakers. Tyland Creek Family Dentistry of Powdersville is AWESOME!

They don't care about there work after a couple years have gone by and the bridge and implants they installed have broken and fallen apart, they could care less about you after the work is done. Even tho there work does not hold up for very long after its done beware

Very disappointed in this business. The dentist and hygienist and physical space are great. Their billing people ruin it. You go and they give you a price and have you pay difference based on what insurance covers (normal practice). I pay difference at time of service. Then you get surprise bills in the mail later for same service saying you owe more money. This has now happened multiple times and for prophylactic cleans no less. Another time they quoted me for other services. I agreed to price and go ahead. Then walk out to desk and person attempts to charge me $75 more than what was quoted. After politely arguing and stress she eventually admits that she did tell me wrong and changes it back. Concerning billing practice and unfortunately cannot recommend. Sad because the clinical side is great.

The best experience I could have had. All the girls I saw were professional and friendly and made you feel like they couldn't do enough for you. Was very happy with the way I was taken care of.

A huge shout out to Tylan Creek Dentistry in Powdersville. I had a crown come off just a few days before leaving for vacation. I got an appointment the same day I called about my problem. Dr. Forrester put the crown back in place a didn't charge me as I "have been a dedicated patient for years." That excellent service does not happen often these days!

This is the Best dentist ever and they really do care about you. I called with tooth pain and asked to be seen as soon as possible and they got me in right away. Everyone is friendly, smiling, and happy to help you. Don't go anywhere else!

Got to be hands down the best! All the staff is super friendly and always ready to go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of in any way possible. You can tell they genuinely care about every person that walks through the door and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended!!

This is the Chic-Fil-A of dentist offices : ) I cannot say enough good things about them! Over the years I have had a lot of dental work done and been to several different offices and this is the best yet. After a filling feel out I needed immediate attention, I called this office and they were able to take me within the hour! Immediately upon walking in you feel like you are at home or at spa and the staff is amazing. The other thing that I love is that they have evening hours which is such a convienence! They have the best customer service Ive ever seen and make you feel so comfortable and welcomed! Dr. Abbie Coleman is the best, I had a tooth extracted and didnt feel a thing and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I would highly recommend this dentist office!! 10 stars!!!!

I just came home from my first visit from this dentistry and I am beyond happy with what I've found. I hadn't visited a dentist in probably fifteen years, and not only did everyone make me feel 100% comfortable, they did MAGIC on my teeth! Every single person there made me feel like having a healthy mouth was entirely possible for me. If you haven't been to a dentist in a long, long time and are worried about being judged for that, COME HERE! My mouth has never felt better and my teeth look wonderful!

On Christmas Eve, I broke a tooth. 48 hours later, we were getting on a plane and heading on a Disney vacation. I did NOT want to get to Disney and get a toothache. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that either Dr.Halbert would fix my tooth or he would ask one of the other Doctor's to come in. My husband told me I was crazy if I thought a Doctor would come in at Christmas and fix my tooth. I told him that I knew Dr.Halbert would not let me go with my tooth broken like it was. I text Tasha and within 5 minutes she had text me back and said they would fix it the next day. YES, CHRISTMAS DAY!! Tasha was also going to come in and help assist. I felt horrible for having to even ask and bother them at Christmas, but I knew they would fix me right up! How many Dentist's (and Assistants)do you know that will come in on Christmas Day to fix a tooth! I have always recommended friends, family, even strangers to go to Tylan Creek and this is one of the reasons why. They are great at what they do and they truly care about their patients!
