We also believe in educating our patients as we work with them to achieve the best physical state possible.
Each dentist is certified by the American Dental Association and comes to our practice with years of experience in their area of specialty. Our certified Dental Assistants always consult with the attending dentist prior to working with each patient in order to provide informed, consistent care at all times.
Hello! My name is Dr. Qingshan Li. I am an orthodontist with over 28 years of global experience in dentistry. I began my career in China, and then I practiced in Germany before moving to the United States. I completed a PhD in dentistry, as well as postgraduate training in restorative dentistry at the University of Kiel in Kiel, Germany. While at university, I also received my specialty training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. I then relocated to the U.S. to become an Orthodontic Resident at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (University of Rochester Medical Center) in Rochester, New York. I now live in Chicago, where I treat patients in multiple office locations. My dedication to this profession isnt limited to treating patients, however. I am proud to be involved in research and the continuous innovation of orthodontics. My research has been published in reputable journals, and Ive presented at domestic and international seminars on orthodontics. These seminars complement my efforts to research and incorporate the latest technology into my practice. I enjoy teaching and passing on my knowledge and expertise to the next generation of orthodontists at the Chicago campus of the University of Illinois (UIC).
m truly passionate about our patients and the course of their orthodontic treatment. My treatment philosophy focuses on functional bites, esthetics and efficiency of treatment. In other words, I do not just correct crooked teeth and obtaining a functional bite, while designing my patients treatment to achieve a youthful and beautiful smile. For every patient, I utilize an efficient case management process to complete the treatment in less time. Following this philosophy makes it possible for up to 90% of our treatment plans to be non-extractions. This allows us to achieve better, quicker results while minimizing the risk associated with prolonged orthodontic treatment. All this effort and planning puts the wow factor in our patients smiles, both during and after treatment. At the same time, I am always seeking new innovations and treatment methods of orthodontics to improve our patients treatment and results. My ultimate goal is to help our patients obtain an exceptionally beautiful smile that can last a lifetime!
I know it sounds like Im juggling a lot between creating amazing smiles in my orthodontic practice, researching new treatment methods and technology, and teaching the next generation of orthodontists but I do have down time. I enjoy swimming, travelling and photography, but the most important thing to me is spending time with my wife, Dr. Bin Yang, and daughter.
Dr. Virji is originally from Toronto, Canada, where she found a passion for orthodontics since the age of 13. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Dr. Virji went on to earn her DMD degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, IL in 2017. Dr. Virji then began practicing general dentistry for 1 year in Toronto before returning to Chicago and pursuing orthodontics at UIC Orthodontic Program. Dr. Virjis dedication for her profession led to her winning 3rd Place Nationwide for the 2021 Dr. William R. Proffit Resident Scholar Award while at UIC. While Dr. Virji practices orthodontics full time, she also works as part time faculty at the University of Illinois Chicago Orthodontic Department.
Dr. Virji is passionate about all areas of orthodontics, but shes especially interested in the advanced technologies that orthodontics is moving toward. Focusing on advanced technologies allows Dr. Virji to provide her patients with the best experience and results.
Dr. Atassi has more than twenty years of experience in the field of periodontics and dental implants. He earned his dental degree from Tufts University and his specialty training from Louisiana State University. He has two master degrees, and he is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
He has several publications in refereed and in peer-reviewed journals. While most of his time is devoted to private practice, he also lectured on Esthetics and Dental Implants as an invited speaker at both national and international meetings.

Dr. Li is the best! He was able to remove a fixed retainer I got at another office that was causing me issues. He gave me new removable retainers that helped the discomfort. I'm excited to start my re-treatment with him & his team soon!

Dr. Li is a great orthodontist! I would give him 10 stars if I could. He has done an awesome job with my daughter who in my opinion was a difficult case. He knows what he is doing and puts his heart in his work. So far he has treated two of my children and will definitely have a third one see him. He has helped my children achieve a beautiful smile. Dr. Li is profesional and courteous. He also has the latest advancement in patient care/treatment. Dr. Li is so awesome at what he does that he shares is knowledge with others by teaching orthodontist dentistry to future orthodontist. I also have to include his staff, Abe, Lilian, Aladdin, Maribel and so many more. They are all very professional and courteous which is part of having a great patient experience! Thank you all.

Honestly one of the best dentist places I've been to. Ever since I started my Invisalign treatment last year everyone has been so kind to me and informative whenever I've had questions. They are always willing to work around my weird work schedule to get me in when I need to. Dr. Qingshan Li has been treating me for ortho ever since I started. He is very attentive & professional. I am very happy and grateful that I went through my Invisalign journey with Dr Li. And their staff!!

I have been a patient at Gental dental for a bit over 4 years going on now, and I love the front desk staff and the dental staff! They are always in a cheerful mood. The front desk will even call the day before your appointment to remind you & work great around your schedule. Dr. Li has gave me such a confidence boost with how great my teeth are looking! Dr. Li along with all of his staff ( Abe, Maribel, Fifi, too many to mention) are awesome! They are very professional and friendly. My son saw Dr. Li for braces and he definitely knows what he is doing! They have the latest technology. If you are looking for a great orthodontist experience, I strongly recommend him. My son is a patient at Baker Hill Dental and Dr. Li for his doctor for his ortho. Dr. Li is excellent and all his staffs are the best! Everyone is so friendly and experienced. They give the BEST service. My son had the most terrible over bits due to over crowded teeth. His teeth looks so nice and straight now. It was worth the time driving to Glen Ellyn to do my son's brace -- as we are from Chicago!!!! This place is recommended and this is no disappointment with all your dental needs!
