Dr. Ricardo Somera Ochinang was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Birmingham, Alabama at the age of two. He attended John Carroll Catholic High School, Birmingham, Alabama and graduated with honors. He received his bachelors degree with a major in biology and minor in chemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2000. Afterwards, he earned his dental degree from the University of Alabama School Of Dentistry in 2004.

Following the events of 9/11, Dr. Ochinang began to consider entering the military. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Ochinang commissioned as a Captain in the United States Air Force in July 2004 and completed Commissioned Officer Training at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He then accomplished a rigorous one year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Dr. Ochinang was then stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas where he completed the rest of his commitment with the Air Force until his separation in 2009 when he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service. In 2007, Dr. Ochinang deployed with a medical team from Goodfellow Air Force Base as the lone humanitarian dental provider to aid Peru earthquake victims, surgically treating over 150 patients.

Dr. Ochinang married the love of his life and San Angelo native Brandi Albarado at the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart. They first met while being stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, and after a period of geographic separation, the two reunited on St. Patricks Day in San Angelo. The two are happily married with three children, Kaleigh, Ramero, and Amarah. Their family are active members of the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart.

A strong supporter of organized dentistry, Dr. Ochinang is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Association of Oral and Systemic Health, Academy of Laser Dentistry, American Sleep and Breathing Academy, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and San Angelo District Dental Society.

Consistently striving for dental excellence, Dr. Ochinang has accrued over 1000 hours of continuing education, attending a number of military and civilian dental courses. In 2017, he initiated an intensive one-year training program, the TexMAX Implant MaxiCourse, which is accredited by the prestigious American Academy of Implant Dentistry, furthering his education in implant surgery. Simultaneously, he is also completing a comprehensive min-residency with the Dawson Institute for Advanced Dental Studies gaining further mastery in disorders of the TMJ, worn dentitions, and unbalanced bites.

Brandi is our Office Manager and hometown girl, having been born and raised right here in San Angelo, Texas. As Office Manager, Brandi oversees all the daily processes involved with the practice. Most frequently, Brandi can be found at the front desk, genuinely welcoming patients as they walk through our door. Brandi is also a Certified Dental Assistant receiving her training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas while serving on Active Duty with the United States Air Force in 2002. Additionally, she is a member of the American Association of Dental Office Management and completed the AADOM Fellowship program to further distinguish her skills and leadership. Away from work, Brandi enjoys spending time with her children, wine tasting, and cooking. She also has a love for interior design and traveling to new places. Brandi is the wife of Dr. Ochinang and proud mother of three, Kaleigh, Ramero, and Amarah.

Juliana is one of our Registered Dental Hygienists. Juliana was born and raised here in San Angelo, Texas. Julianas personal experience with complex dental needs as well as her time working in the orthodontic field, inspired her initial interest in pursuing dental hygiene. Juliana earned her degree in Dental Hygiene at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. She is also certified to provide laser therapy to efficiently treat patients with gum disease. When Juliana is out of the office, she enjoys spending time her family, traveling, and hiking. Juliana is passionate, loyal, and adventurous. These character traits combined with being gentle and compassionate, help to make her an exceptional dental hygienist and a wonderful asset to our team. When asked what she loves most about her job, she expressed her happiness to provide care which positively impacts the oral health of every patient who sits in her chair. Juliana and her husband Lalo have two children, Zavian, age 12 and Cora, age 8. Their family also a Great Dane named Rose, and a Labrador named Zoey.

Genie was born in Amarillo, Texas and raised along with one sister and three brothers in Happy, Texas. She earned her degree in Dental Hygiene at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. She is a member of the Concho Valley Dental Hygiene Association and certified to provide laser therapy for patients with periodontal disease. Genie takes great pride in offering the most thorough yet gentle preventive care available. Another aspect of the profession that she enjoys is the opportunity to educate her patients about daily preventative measures that can be used to decrease the likelihood of future problems. Outside of the office, Genie has a love for horseback riding and sewing her own unique clothing. Genie and her husband Josh have three adventurous little boys named Ransom, Rio, and Ryder. In January 2022, they were blessed with the birth of their first baby girl, Rainie Rose.

Celia is one of our Registered Dental Assistants. Celia was born in Lansing, Michigan but grew up here in San Angelo, Texas. Having previously worked in an assisted living facility, Celia was periodically exposed to dental procedures when dentists and dental assistants would come to care for the residents. These observations sparked her primary interest in the profession and led her to receive her dental assisting training in Abilene Texas. Celias favorite hobbies include sight-seeing and exercising. Celias ability to remain positive during adversity alongside her kind, free spirited, and loving nature compliment her ability to be a remarkable dental assistant. When asked what she loves most about her job, she mentions her joy and appreciation of interacting with her patients on a most compassionate level. Celia and her husband Vicente have one son, Luis, who serves in The United States Marine Corps. Their family also has four sweet dogs.

Sheena is one of our Registered Dental Assistants who was born and raised in Brady, Texas. Sheenas initial interest in dentistry came early on as she always loved visiting the dentist to have her teeth cleaned! Sheena completed her training at the Dental Assisting School of Texas in Austin. When asked what she loves most about her job, she explains how she loves helping her patients build healthy and beautiful smiles in order to help them regain self-confidence. Outside of the office, Sheena loves spending time with her children by watching movies and playing games. She also enjoys playing video games with her son, shopping, and decorating. Sheenas genuine, friendly, and humorous personality have made her an effortless addition to our team. Sheena has two children, Tenley, age 11 and Graham, age 9.

Ella habla Espaol! Sonia is our Insurance Coordinator and was born in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico. She and her siblings grew up in Julesburg, Colorado. She is no stranger to the dental profession, having more than a decade of experience in the field. When Sonia is not verifying insurance and helping patients maximize their dental insurance benefits, she can be found enjoying her favorite pastimes such as cooking and traveling. Sonia can be described as professional, forgiving, and kind. She enjoys explaining insurance coverages to her patients so they are able to fully take advantage of their dental benefits. In addition, Sonia is bilingual and great part of our team. Sonia has one son named Joel and two daughters, Sarah and Maggie. Sonia was also blessed with her first granddaughter named Reagan who recently celebrated her first birthday. She also has 3 grandpups named Molly, Baby and Rocky.
