Dr. Mike Henrickson grew up in the greater Minneapolis St. Paul area. As a son of Dr. Myron Henrickson, who was also a dentist, Dr. Mike aspired to continue in his fathers footsteps. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2004. After graduating from dental school, he attended the University of Florida and completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry, gaining priceless experience in procedures that are mainly done by specialists. While participating in this program, Dr. Mike completed the Dawson series on occlusion and worked with some of the most respected dentists in the world. After completing his residency in 2005, he joined his dad in Maplewood and became the owner of Henrickson Dental in 2008; his father retired in 2014.
Dr. Mike has completed many continuing education courses, and he attends monthly meetings with a Seattle Study Club. He is also a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Mike Henrickson has mentored many newly-graduated dentists, and he has lectured on various topics in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Mike provides superior dental care by incorporating patient education, comfort, and technology. He also knows how important it is to give back. Dr. Mike organizes volunteering events for his office, such as serving meals at The Ronald McDonald House, preparing meals for Feed My Starving Children, and planning an annual dental mission trip with Great Shape, Inc., the 1000 Smiles program where he and his team travel to Jamaica to provide dental treatment to adults in the rural communities.
In his free time, Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, their son, Max, and their daughter, Madeline. He is also an avid sports fan who loves skiing and playing golf, tennis, and hockey.
Dr. Ballinger comes to us with an education from The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors in 1998. She decided to further her education by enrolling in the Advanced Education of General Dentistry while working for a prosthodontist in the evenings.
Dr. Ballinger has years of experience in all areas of dentistry and is grateful to have the education and the abilities to treat her patients-seeing each of her patients leave the office with a healthy, happy smile is her goal each and every day.

Crystal is our general manager, and although she has been with the practice for 8 years, she has been in dentistry for 20 years. Crystal continues her education through various programs. I love being part of a comprehensive team that takes pride in helping patients get healthy and making their smile brighter. She has a daughter attending the University of Wisconsin.

They were awesome! Got me in right away for an emergency appointment. Helpful, kind, informative. The dentist, who was very knowledgeable, kind, friendly & caring. Did a great job extracting my broken tooth, with a long root. I am sorry that I don't remember her name at the moment. A little woman, older, sharp as a TAC. Her assistant was great too! THANK YOU ALL, so VERY MUCH! I WILL return.

Did not get the ability to check out this facility due to the receptionist (Kim) being very rude over the phone. It stinks that good facilities can lose business due to poor customer service....

Great dentist! Best experience I've had with any dentist. Hygienist was ready friends and did a great job. My wife also had some major dental work here as well and she had the same experience. Highly recommend!

Over the years I've been to multiple dental offices for work, and Twin Cities Modern Dentistry is hands down the best experience I've had at the dentist. I've had a fear of dentists for years and they are very good at making sure I am comfortable, and explain what they are going to do before they do it.

I highly recommend Twin Cities Modern Dentistry. In the past week, I have had a thorough dental exam with full mouth x-rays, analysis, cleaning, two amalgam (filling replacements) and my first crown due to cracking a tooth. Every person was kind, professional, efficient and provided excellent care and end results. Many thanks to Dr. Laureen Ballanger for her expertise and great final results of all the dental work. Her team made it as comfortable as possible and she was very good at explaining each step in the process. Their billing person was also very efficient in processing a credit (within a day) to my credit card when one of the dental steps outlined on my original estimate was not needed or conducted. There is some other dental work needed in my future which I will not hesitate to follow up on in 2021. But there was no hard sell to have the work done, and in fact was recommended to "keep an eye on". I appreciated the conservative approach. Thank you for a positive experience in every way!

I had an appointment with Modern Dentistry today to get a second opinion on a dental procedure that was to be performed by another dentist. Everyone was exceptionally exceptionally cordial and helpful. Dr Ballanger very clearly explained the proposed procedure and the reasoning behind it. I was very impressed!

Dr Ballinger and her assistant Cheryl are the best. Both are so caring and they do not rush you in and out. Dr Ballinger even called me in the evening the day I had a tooth extracted. So thoughtful. Karen the receptionist is also excellent to work with. Staff is great. Highly recommend Dr Ballinger and her team.

Dr. Mike Hendrickson and his staff are very friendly and welcoming to their office. I'm not a very good person when it comes to going to the dentist but I can assure you that I have had great service and the fact that they have the capability to make caps in the office makes for fewer visits. I have never experienced pain or discomfort afterwards that I couldn't handle with Advil for a day. I had a lot of problems going in but after 4 visits I was done! That included 2 bridges and 2 caps. Also I had my teeth cleaned by the best hygienist I ever experienced. When you go in, ask Dr. Mike "what is the average height of a moose".

This place is great. I had not been to the dentist in 22 years due to not being able to afford it growing up. Due to this I avoided the dentist and was terrified to go. I will say my experience was fantastic. Not once did I ever feel judged and the staff made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Mike was a very friendly guy and even took the time to make a plan for me. I never thought getting my teeth fixed would ever be possible but thanks to this place I now know it is. Now instead of crippling anxiety about seeing the dentist im excited about the future. Thank you Dr. Mike and your amazing staff! If anybody is in the same situation or just looking for a good dentist this is the place. You have a customer for life now.

My follow up care for teeth cleaning and replacement of cracked fillings continues at Twin Cities Modern Dentistry under the professional care of Dr. Lauren Ballinger. I return to Twin Cities Modern Dentistry (Burnsville location) due to the exceptional dental work in a kind and professional environment. They are up to date and state of the art with their tools. There is never any waiting and the work is efficient due to having their own in-house lab. Highly satisfied with their finished results. I have no hesitation in recommending Twin Cities Modern Dentistry.
