Dr.John Carlson was raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. His father, Dr.TerryCarlson, is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Tuscaloosa, and his grandfather, Dr.NormanCarlson, practiced dentistry in Northport for more than 50 years.You may say that a passion for dentistry is part of his DNA! Dr.Carlson graduated from Tuscaloosa Academy then received a degree in History from Samford University. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry where he was awarded for Achievement and Excellence in the field of OrofacialPain by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain.Dr. Carlson genuinely enjoys keeping his education and training up to date.He is an active member of an interdisciplinary study club and typically obtains double the amount of Continuing Education hours required each year.

Dr. Carlson has been married to his wife DeLaune since 2006 and they have two active, young boys. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and anything outdoors, training his trusty dog, Bogey, traveling, reading about American history, and attending Alabama sportingevents.

On October 25th I visited Tuscaloosa General Dental and my visit was excellent and the staff was very nice and very friendly and straight to the point. I would recommend them to anybody that would like to visit Tuscaloosa General Dental and make sure to tell them that I highly recommend them.

Had a great visit with Dr Carlson, and Stephznie. I had a problem pop up, but Dr Carlson was able to give me the help I needed. I'm so grateful to have this group to turn to. They are totally awesome! Each time I have an appointment, whether just cleaning or a major procedure, I am amazed at how special I am made to feel. Dr. Merriweather, Stephanie and the ladies at the reception desk make me feel like an old friend, and there is no anxiety because my comfort is their primary concern. If y UVou are looking for a new dental experience, I highly recommended my friends at Tuscaloosa General Dentistry! I have been a patient since 2016 and can't imagine going anywhere else. I was having my teeth cleaned there today, and Stephanie is the best! Everything about them is 5 star.

Reposting the same comments for the third year in a row... Another excellent visit to Dr Carlson! I'm actually reposting my review from last year! I'm very grateful to have such a competent and professional dentist with all the most up-to-date equipment and procedures! in addition, the staff is always friendly, and their scheduling indicates that they are cognizant and respectful of their patients' time as the wait times are almost nonexistent. The office is lovely, easy to find, and parking right in front of the building is typically plentiful. I recommend this dental practice without reservation!

Absolutely one of the best dental visits I've experienced. From the moment I walked in at the front desk hands down wonderful ladies.
