Dr. Turton graduated from University of San Carlos, Guatemala with a degree in dental surgery. After which Dr. Turton opened and operated a successful practice in Guatemala City for 10 years prior to relocating to California. Dr. Turton obtained his California doctor of dental science license in 1999. He practiced as an associate for a major group practice in Orange County, California. In November 2001, Dr. Turton purchased his Orcutt, CA private practice, reorganized it, and reopened in 2002 as Santa Maria Family Dentistry. Dr. Turton is a member of the ADA, CDA and Central Coast Dental Society. Dr. Turton is certified in Oral Conscious Sedation.
Dr. Turton is married to Marie Turton and they have 2 sons. Dr. Turton enjoys hiking, jogging, bicycling, and riding motor cycles on the back roads of the Central Coast. Dr. Turton also enjoys socializing and telling stories with his friends and patients about his diverse experiences.

Dr. Turton and staff really went above and beyond to accommodate me when my tooth cracked. I was brought in same day for extraction and next day follow up appointment to ensure everything was healing as planned. I highly recommend their friendly and prompt service.

Dr. Turton and his staff are very excellent and experienced Dentists. the whole process is very professional, organized, and on time. before going to Dr Robert Turton i disliked going to the dentist but he and his staff turned that all around with his gentle and precise dentistry work. all the assistance he has is equally amazing! he is a phenomenal dentist and makes sure you are always 100% numb before doing any procedure so you will never feel pain or discomfort. he has done three crowns for me and they all feel better then my natural teeth. he has a special lab he gets the crowns custom made for a perfect fit and harmony to the rest of your teeth. so thankful to have such a kind and generous dentist now i look forward to my dental appts because i know every bit of the work he does in my mouth is going to improve my overall life and health. thank you Dr. -Adam J

Dr. Turton is kind, gentle, experienced and a perfectionist. His nurse Maria is highly skilled with an Angelic personality, together they made my Root Canal a smooth procedure. I was horrified due to a bad experience in the PAST, by a dentist with very little experience. This office is extremely professional and warm, I appreciate authenticity. They are very thorough with explaining anything I needed to know. I will always highly recommend this dental practice, they are all about quality and precision. Grateful me!

Dr. Turton and his staff were amazing! Like most people, I do not enjoy going to the dentist. Unfortunately, after getting hit in the mouth during hockey practice, my visit to the dentist came sooner than I hoped. i contacted a few local dentists hoping they could fix my tooth.... One of which told me "you might not be happy with the results, you might be happier leaving it the way it was", another dentist told me "this wasn't an urgent matter." After spending the next 3 days of excruciating pain, wondering what to do, I reached out to Dr. Turton. Turns out, my tooth was rapidly decaying, and they needed to perform a root canal ASAP. They saved my tooth, and the process was absolutely painless! Thank you Dr. Turton and your staff. I will be referring all of my friends to you, and I found a new dentist! - Tobin

Love this office! Friendly staff, little wait time and I love that they remind me of my appointment the day prior to the visit and on the day of the visit. Another plus is that the Doctor and staff are bilingual.

Very unprofessional. High prices. Dentist charges just to look at an oral abrasion. Staff cancels appointments at will. Dentist can't speak English fluently and speaks Spanish while working on a non-Spanish speaking client. In short, don't go to this dentist!
