She is the oldest of five children and is a third-generation dentist. Dr. Hurcomb started working in her dads office when she was just 13 years old and spent every summer there until she went to dental school. She learned how to run and manage the front office and also how to assist the doctor in caring for patients. This valuable experience helped her grow her love for dentistry.

Dr. Hurcomb graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and then went on to practice with her father for a year before moving to South Bend, IN. Here, she practiced at two locations for seven years before starting her own practice, Tulip Tree Dental Care, in 2014.

Dr. Hurcomb is dedicated to keeping up with the latest advancements in dentistry and has completed several hundred hours of continuing education. She has even completed courses at the prestigious Bell Institute.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Hurcomb spends most of her time with her husband, children, other family members, and friends. She enjoys watching college and professional football and sharing recipes.

She loves baking so much that she often shares the fruits of her labor with her patients and dental team. The professional team and happy patients at Tulip Tree Dental Care even make jokes about her second job as a baker!

Ashley is a licensed dental hygienist with a dental assisting background. She has been in the dental field for more than eight years. Prior to joining Tulip Tree Dental Care, she worked for three years in a pediatric dental office. She especially loves working with kids and making them feel comfortable. Ashley is very bubbly, outgoing, and loves talking, so you will always find her smiling and laughing!

Kristie is one of our talented dental hygienists at Tulip Tree Dental Care. She has been working in the dental field since 2007 and joined our team in 2014. In addition to her work here, Kristie works as a part-time faculty member at Ivy Tech Community College in the Dental Hygiene and Assisting Program.

She has a bachelors degree in dental hygiene and loves to learn about new techniques and technology. Kristie enjoys helping her patients have a healthy mouth by educating them about their oral health.

Kelsie joined our team in 2018 and she has been working in the dental field since 2014. She stays up-to-date on the latest in dental care by completing continuing education courses about a variety of topics. The best part of her job is the variety that each day and each patient brings. She loves being able to enhance a persons smile and make a positive impact on their lives.

Marissa has been working at TTDC since 2021, she has been an assistant since she graduated from Ivy Tech with her associate's in Dental Assisting in 2013. She has certificates for expanded functions, coronal polishing, nitrous oxide administration, and caries prevention. She prides herself in providing the best of care to her patients and making them feel at ease. Marissa loves seeing the smiles on patients when they are happy with the results of their treatment! She continues to strive to learn new techniques and new technology in the forever-evolving dental field.

Marissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Things she enjoys are traveling, visiting local breweries, going on walks, playing with kids outside, or anything to keep her little one busy!

Sue first worked in dentistry in 1978 before joining our team at Tulip Tree Dental Care in 2019. She enjoys spending time her coworkers and getting to work with our patients to make their dental experiences here the best they have ever had.

Angelica joined our team in 2019 and has been in the dental field since 2009, starting as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. The front of the office is where she enjoys helping patients focus on timely care for their dental needs, understanding the logistics of dental treatment, maximizing insurance benefits on behalf of patients and discussing financial options to decrease the patients out of pocket expenses. She believes the dental office should not be a place to fear and strives to be as helpful as possible, going above and beyond for the patient and their needs.

Outside of the office, Angelica loves being a dog mom to her Yorkie, Ripley, coaching youth soccer, jamming out to music at concerts, traveling, summers out on the lake, spending time with friends and family, as well as being a sushi connoisseur.

At Tulip Tree Dental Care, our patients visit our South Bend dental office from surrounding communities throughout the Michiana and South Bend areas, including Indian Village, Granger, and Mishawaka. We also regularly see patients just across the Indiana/Michigan border from Niles, Buchanan, and Edwardsburg, MI.
