Pedodontics is the branch of dentistry dealing with the teeth and mouth conditions of children. Pediatric dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on the oral health and unique needs of young people.
The leading causes of cavities are a diet of high sugars and lack of brushing and flossing. The longer your child chews on their food, the longer the residue stays on their teeth, the more acid forms and the greater the chances of cavities.

We had a great experience here and boy did we make them work to get that X-ray. Our poor kiddo had to be strapped to the papoose board :( but they got it and we will definitely be back!!

I think this place is absolutely fabulous. They have an amazing receptionist who is super cheerful and it was really easy to make an appointment as a new patient. They got in my son right away and he had a great visit. We have a long time dentist in town that I got the feeling wasn't the best for kid patients. We should have switched to this place a lot sooner. TVs on the screens and really patient... just the whole place is geared towards children. going to switch my other two children over now. highly recommend!!!!

Very happy for the dental work for my children. Thank you for being so personable and for speaking with them and me about all of their options. My children and I were very comfortable with the staff and the dentist.

The doctor was fine. We paid for procedures in full before the procedures were performed. Insurance companies don't do that but we did. A few weeks later we get bills saying we owe hundreds more!!! Called office and there was no explanation except that we owed more even though the treatment plan did not change from what was originally quoted. I even reviewed my quote with their billing person. I paid close to $3000 and they were sending more bills. Unacceptable. My pediatrics referred us here for but I reported back to our pediatrician our experience and they are reconsidering referring here. Beware! I don't write many reviews but thought this was worth relaying to those who are considering this practice. I have called the office. You are asking me for an additional $640.00 to be exact.

My son has been going here for a couple years. Their staff are patient and caring. Dentist visits are not always easy and my experience is they take it slow. The recently added tv screens to the ceiling in the cleaning area and my son enjoyed that! He had fun with Dr. Hishaw as his last visit... she let him check out her new dentist glasses.

On our first visit the staff seemed very friendly. Though our son needed a silver liquid placeed on his teeth. A 17 month old decided to fight it. So the dentist had to keep his mouth open with a vice. Traumatic for a babies first dentist visit. We paid the bill in full that was given to us a set up a second appointment for the second coat. When we show up for that appointment we were being told that we had to pay again. When i told them i was under the impression that we had paid for the whole process the first time and asked why we weren't informed about it. The front desk said well if i didn't tell you then im telling you now. That was extremely disrespectful and rude. So i infrmed them that our insurance and money are good anywhere else. And we left. I do not recommend this office. And belive we will find a better option in 10 minutes. You dont treat people like you are the only option.

Our boys have been cared for by Dr. Hishaw at Tucson Smiles for years. We have never had anything but positive experiences. Even my son with significant anxiety, walks back to the exam area independently and confidently, knowing he will be cared for in a gentle and respectful manner. Dr. Hishaw engages in fun and relevant conversation with the boys, and teaches them how to best care for their teeth, without shaming them. Her staff is always pleasant, and remembers details and interests about the boys and our family from visit to visit, making it a warm and inviting welcome each time we return. I cannot say enough good things about the dentists and the staff at the Swan location of Tucson Smiles. Cherish who runs the front desk is absolutely amazing. Dr. Priya and Dr. Laila are both incredible. My kids just love the both of them and are completely at ease in their care.

Highly recommend, both Dr. Priya and Dr. Hishaw are great with my two boys. The staff is also very friendly.

What an amazing experience! My son is 4 almost 5 and had his first cavity. I have had my own series of bad dental situations so I was pretty nervous, though I didn't share this with my son. They explained everything step by step and showed him each instrument. I'm pretty sure he didn't even realize he had been given the novacaine shots. They know how to talk to kids and keep them happy and calm. Great place!

I used to take my daughter to my general dentist, who is great but my daughter had some issues he could not address so he referred me to Tucson Smiles. We had such a great experience! I never knew there was a difference between our family dentist and a pediatric dentist. I like our dentist for my husband & me but I am switching all of my kids to Tucson Smiles!
