John H. Tucker, D.M.D. has maintained a private practice in Erie, Pennsylvania since 1982. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He has completed the Boston Seminars in Implant Dentistry with Dr. Paul Schnitman, the University of Buffalo Esthetic Dentistry Program, and all levels of the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, and the University Of Buffalo Patient Mastery Program. In 2005 he was awarded a Certificate of Proficiency in Esthetic Dentistry from the University of Buffalo.
He is a Member of the American College of Oral Implantology, the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a Diplomate for both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Society of Osseointegration. Dr. Tucker has Mastership status in the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics as well as Fellowship in the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Tucker has lectured throughout the nation regarding dental implants and prosthetics as well as publishing numerous related articles. He has worked as a consultant for Dentsply, ESPE, Kerr, Henry Schein and Nierman Practice Management.

Dr. Joshua K. Gunther graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University. After completing dental school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he completed an additional one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency which only 10% of dentists complete. During his Navy career he served in the Middle East in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the Navy, he returned home to Erie and became a partner at Tucker and Gunther Dental Excellence which has proudly served Eries dental needs for over fifty years. He has since completed postgraduate training in IV Conscious Sedation, Invisalign, TMJ pain therapy, and is a certified graduate of the Progressive Orthodontics program.

I was the stereotypical dentophobist and after some extremely bad experiences, I preferred to have missing molars rather than see another dentist! My husband encouraged me to visit Dr. Tucker as a last ditch effort to save my mouth - and it changed EVERYTHING!!! From the moment I first called the office staff impressed me with how friendly yet professional they all were. Dr. Tucker's calm, gentle demeanor, coupled with his knowledge and communication skills quickly put me at ease. He soon had my mouth in tip top shape (which I never thought possible)! Dr. Gunther, who for me in for an emergency root canal, and his assistant became a much appreciated team and I cannot recommend them enough! I, who literally shakes with nerves every time I sit in a dentists chair, actually fell asleep during the procedure!!! My insurance has been difficult to work with, but I didn't know until recently because the staff handled everything. The front office was very patient when our medical reimbursement card was delayed and even more patient when I had to cancel and reschedule multiple appts at the last minutes during the COVID scare. There is nothing I wouldn't recommend about this practice!

Very professional staff, especially concerning infection control practices. This was my first visit and Dr. Tucker outlined a plan to develop recommendations for work on my entire mouth. I have previously had dental implants but no overall plan for coordination between my oral surgeon and general dentist. Dr. Tucker spent enough time with us to answer all my and my wife's questions.

I recommend Dr. Tucker to my friends and family. After having some bad dental experiences I was beyond HAPPY with my experience here! The staff were so kind and friendly and gentle. I had to get 2 fillings and it was painless! Dr. Gunther was amazing and I will definitely be taking my son there when he is old enough!

Very friendly staff, I had braces from here. Dr Gunther was very friendly, easy to talk to, and very professional throughout the whole process. Rooms were recently renovated and the entire office is a welcoming atmosphere.
